Tottenham Hot For.... Heskey.

Monday, 01 September 08, 07:31 PM · Comments (352)

Sweet baby Jesus and the orphans.

The button marked DO NOT PRESS has been whalloped.

The envelope marked IN EVENT OF... oh, you get the jist.

SSN have been sniffing around HH all day waiting for crumbs to fall from our virtual banqueting table. And so courtesy of Jamie R, tonight they shall dine like fools.

Emile Heskey. The wardrobe on coasters. The immovable object and unstoppable force in one. A man frequently outwitted by sheep.

I was in a dilemma. Nice cars Dilemmas. Well I said earlier today that I don't really do polyester but the feel good factor was getting to me so much I was now stuck between getting that tasty third shirt with either BIOYC or LEVY on the back.

The decision has been taken out of my hands.

If we sign Heskey my back will bare the wording THEY WEREN'T KIDDING.

will he really be that bad? he's not a bad guy to have come off the bench to shake up a defense like Pompey's or Everton's for example.

but Millito would be better. so would Michael Owen, that guy still knows how to put a ball away and with our midfield he could once again become prolific.

So, did Sir Alex Fuckerson pick Berba up at the airport? perhaps both men share a love of squirrels?

Can't we sign that Juan Roman Riquelme?

This is what i have been told - Berba has agreed personal terms and undergoing a medical. The fee offered is £28m whilst Man c offered £32m. We are waiting a few hours before we finally accept Man U offer as Real Madrid as expected to offer £35m. Heskey joining is a complete fabrication. We will make a final final bid for Arshavin but it doesnt look good. We have also been sniffing around Capel. Veloso is 50/50. Berba deal will be resolved in next two hours then expect three quick signings (all already agreed in principle)..

calm down - this will be a great short-term signing. If we can get him motivated his physical presence will help our artisans to perform. Also, there will always be takers for him when we sell him next summer so it will be relatively cheap to have him rampaging for us.

The bottom line is that if we can't get a top star, then at least we get someone who is effective and provides us with some much missing beef. And at least it ain't Rasiak.

Im outraged by Berba's antics today, surely he knew we accepted bid from city and expected him to go to manchester and speak to mark hughes, having said that i'm not suprised by the backward dealings of sir alex ferguson, utd seem to have different rules to any other team that they are constanly allowed to get away with. On the Heskey side, I actually think he'll be a good squad player, yes I want a higher profile name, but heskey knows the league, can hold the ball up, win headers, score(every now n then) has pace and gets called upto england, so cant be all that bad:P. I'm sure we have been speaking to other players to take us forward, and in the next 4 hours we'll be happy.

Heskey aint that bad, you all forget what he does for a team, for every team he's been @.
Its the same reason he's in the latest England team..... not coz he scores a sit load of goals, its coz he creates, not in the same way Keano did, but he probably the bringing a ball down, heading it on and making goals for a goalscorer (Pav and Bent) did you see Bent trying to do his job against Chelsea, he kept heading it on to no-one or just nto space.

He's a quality player at doing what he does.

Remember Germany 1- 5 England
He was a big part of that.

He's worked so well with Owen, for England, but Owen always gets the praise coz he puts it in the net.
But dont forget Heskey.

I wouldnt be upset to see us sign him.

Ramos knows what he's doing.

VELOSO IS NOT BLOODY SIGNING! WE WERE NEVER INTERESTED IN HIM! Of course, if he does sign, I'll be wondering where the hell that came from!

Heskey deal apparently making progress but depends on Wigan securing a replacement on short notice, of which they are quite hopeful. Apparently, Heskey wanted to do a Bosman but has been tempted by Spurs.
Nothing else happening at WHL tonight apparently, all other attempted deals dead, apparently they are all pissed off there, despite Ramos being very happy to have secured Corluka.
The only piece of real business is Berbatov. Nothing has been finalised and it could all end up a mess with Berbatov staying at WHL. He only seems to want to go to Man-Utd but they do not want to offer much money and are trying to tack Campbell on the deal, which Spurs have ruled out since they prefer Heskey to Campbell.

If Bruce needs a replacement for Heskey my dad has an old two seater settee in his garage.

Little spring but would gather momentum if pushed.

But on a more serious note, more important than I'm a big dinlo who falls on my arse all the time Heskey ... My missus is goin absolutely...

my misses is in the middle of packing her bags!!! i would try and stop her but there is a risk i might miss something on here. will grovel to her tomorrow night when im hungry!!!

I can't see Veloso in this link which is totally not endorsed by Harry LINK .

Very grainy, though.

give me a "9" giveme a "_" give me a "37"
or just cheers even.

But it's Porto and Sporting! Eh? What? I thought it was Brag and Sporting.

It's been a very confusing day, and this is only addling my brain further.

On a slightly seperate note why do I get the feeling that there are so many Spurs fans who don't rate Bent? Out of 14 starts last season he nets 7. Now so far this season amid the turmoil he has a goal after 3 starts. In his debut PL season for us the fella gets a goal every two games average despite not playing regularly at all and if the supply is right and he plays regularly I'd bet that he'd get 20+ this season. The only question should be who is going to play as the support striker for this young English goal getter not who is going to replace him in the team. Christ he made Charlton look respectable on his own and I'm pretty sure that wasn't a fluke. Yes I know preseason shouldn't be taken too seriously but his finishing was sublime and i'm pretty sure teams don't go out to try and get thrashed in preseason even if they are not giving their all. I could honestly see Hesky being a good foil for Benty. COYS!!!

this ain't so bad. too many teams get something out of us by sticking a lump up front and repeatedly boofing long balls at him; it might be nice for us to be able to turn the tables every now and then. Emile looks leaden but then again so would you if each of your legs were the size of one Michael Owen. If we get Heskey as well as Veloso tonight, I still consider this a good days work. Stay calm everyone.

Emile Heskey is 30 years old i.e. DoB: 11/01/78. He is 6 ft 2+1⁄2 in tall.

He only scored 13 goals in 65 appearances for Wigan in 2006/07. Simply not good enough, for us!!!!

OK, brace yourself for this: Berbatov is staying at WHL. Spurs could not get any more forwards in, DB has refused to go to Man City, Man Utd have refused to match Spurs' asking price of 30m (even less than what City offered) and Levy has told them to do one. Let's see if things change before midnight but it now looks as if the sulker will be around until January.
While this will show up Fergie, it cannot really be good for Spurs.
