The Tottenham Terrier has issued a crystal clear warning to Fabio Capello that Engerland fans will be booing in earnest again tomorrow night.
"England will want revenge and but yet again, we will win, We are full of confidence and we will once again be ready for another great triumph. "
The slick, group winning Croatians had a fine Euro 2008 and Modric sees no reason why another win isn't on the cards for a team in form meeting one that isn't.
"I can't talk about the tactics we will employ or whether we will play the same way as we did in 2006 and 2007. We will see but maybe we will have a surprise for them."
For me, England look done for.
Nobody seems to care. Not on the terraces and not in the shirt.
The absence of Gerrard means the deployment of the deeply unpopular Lampard, Rooney only looks capable of winning a card for himself and the list of other players who aren't 'quite giving it their upmost' or simply lack sufficient quality encompasses the bulk of the rest of them.
Beckham still wants to give what he can, bless the old girl and Joe Cole's star both domestically and Internationally appears to be in ascendancy, but those two won't alone won't get us very far.
Tactically we look clogged in attack and Walnutt's abilities to reliably beat his man and cross were wasted on a static Defoe. Oh yeah, Stewart Downing looked awful. The only upside was that our back four wasn't troubled, but that was only down to Andorra's eight men in defence tactic.
Modric may well be right. His last goal was superb. CLICKY
I just hope that his next one is against Villa.
I'd like England/Wales to win with no Yid injuries please - and all our players looking fantastic so that Citeh have to pay us more for them in January.
There are so many things that count against England at the moment; Foreign manager, overpaid and apathetic team, unexciting opposition, uncharasmatic players...
I reckon this will be a bore draw or a one all.
I'm still English, I still want them to win but I'm damned if I have to be enthusiastic about it.
Couldn't give a toss to be honest. The only football team i care about is SPURS. Would love Modric and Corluka to have blinders though!!
Cracking goal, don't think i'll even bother to watch England, i will not pay for setanta sports, i already pay 62 quid pm for sky, and going to the pub to watch that dross on a work night does not appeal. Maybe if some of the players start to care and show a little passion on representing their country i may begin to give a toss, i hope Croatia win, and we don't qualify again so i can go through a summer without the false hope that England seem to instill in me and many others as i have enough of that supporting spurs.

Spot on matey, spot on!
Sorry to say, that Modric is correct. The best result England can hope for is a draw and thats being generous.
Croatia are a far more cohesive unit and a better footballing side than England. The 11 men starting the game for Croatia are desperately proud to play for their national side and will give their all for the shirt.
Those are qualities that England have seemed to lack for many a year now. There is no drive, no heart and no passion and quite how an italian who speaks little english can whip them up into a fervour is beyond me. I can see them going into this game already defeated.
The squad selection has been poor and this has lead to a poor team being sent out. Wwalcott is not international class, neither is Defoe or Downing. Thats 3 out of the 11 that aren't good enough. Lampard has not played well for England for almost 4 years now yet he still barrell rolls onto the pitch (thats 4) Lescott seems to lack confidence when playing international football IMO Woodgate is a far better defender (thats 5). In total 5 players that should not be getting a look in at first team international football. Yet somehow they are there! This leads me to believe Capello is not the man for the job.
We have to accept that the English national team is a joke. A bunch of overpaid ingrates who seemed to be unmotivated and uncaring towards the task they have been asked to complete. The FA is a shambles and IMO needs restructuring from the boardroom to the grass roots. Until this happens then I predict more of the same from the shower of idiots that represent England.
I really hope that OUR Luka is proven right on wednesday night.
'...we will win...' the boy don't lie, I reckon england will step up a gear and then concede with 2 minutes to go when everyone has their heart's in their mouth's. Oh and have a goal dissallowed - why not ay?! it's all so formulaic.

thats skyhd, plus second skyplus box for the missus and movies and sport comes to a grand total of 62quid.
The decline of the English national side is partly due to the ascent of the Premier League.
In commercial industry, we stopped being a manufacturing nation a long time ago, when it became cheaper to import goods made around the world. That meant a lot of skilled workers and craftsmen no longer had jobs; nor were they replaced, since there was no reason to.
The same dynamic is observable in the Premier League, where cheaper foreign imports (of fine quality) populate our game - the consequence being that we also ceased manufacturing good English players; and the factories and assembly lines were dismantled or crumbled.
I'm not saying we don't produce them at all. Academies exist that do good work; as do good men and women that are trying to effect postive change.
There are other energies at work that effectively put the England team through the mincer and grind it up. But, at base, the cause is the urge by rich men to be economically supreme, at the cost of everything else.
ha ha fukin ha Keane's house got robbed, serves u rite u cunt. Everybody said it would happen & it did, nice job whoever u r
Just bring the boys back home safe, fit and healthy please.
Ref sky/setanta etc prices - there are cheaper ways of enjoying this all. One just needs to google EPL on satellite or visit the various p2ptv sites to count the ways. Its a mission, but have been reliably informed that on a sunny day, getting a quality tv link from Europe/Middle East/beyond is wonderful. Every game all the time?
Although I tend to look upon these fellows as guerilla fans. Time to dig out the face paint and join the resistance?

Ha. It is a pity we have to field a football team and not a team of Stylists.
Our ability to load the mock tudor spitroasting mansions of these monkeys with luxury goods, cars and trinklets various that would have made The Shah Of Iran blush... appears to be second to none.
"Gary, 'ave you seen my Dolce & Gabanna Q-tip holder anywhere?"
England havent mattered since 1998.
Im in the Croatia end.
What chance do we stand with a coach who prefers Lescot to Woodgate ?

If you use SOPCAST you can get the thai coverage. Thai coverage has english commentary & Highlights of the 1st half action continuously shown during the break and of course at the final whistle. Occassionaly you get the thai Gary Lineker & his mates but thats a small price to pay for 3pm kick offs and match commentary in the queens.
Harry, I object to your your poll on the right. He's friendly, reliable, loved by the nation, performs an important service, house trained - the other is just the current England captain.
I think Terry getting the captaincy has certainly made alot of fans turn away from england. He was defintiely the wrong choice.
I am one of the jonny-come-latelys to the world of the blog, starting with the crazyness during the transfer window when I became convinced that Spurs had singed/were about to sign no less than 600 new players, thus allowing us to guarentee winning the PL by fielding all 20 teams. It was just a shame that my crystal ball suggested that our 8th reserve side ran out eventual winners with our 1st team languishing in mid table!!
However, I felt compeled to join ole ole and post to your excellent and superior Blog, Harry, as this post and the one linking to the scouse view of footy has motivated me.
Engerland and Tottingham were my twin loves as a young, free and single man. I even moved across London to be nearer my beloved SPurs when I left home.
I was one of the supporters who was there when the first away season tickets were issued and held it for a number of years. I saw shocking mid week away defeats - 6-0 at Sheffiesd Utd in the middle of winter springs to mind, but also amazing wins like that in Scouseland in the Cup 1/4 finals and the 1st wembley semi against the scum.
At the same time i was following Engerland home and away, despite the presense of so many bone head nutters from the lower leagues and the consequent police batterings (Rome in particular).
But what kept me going was that there was still some passion, some beief that we were watching players who gave a sh@t about club and country, and not just how much they earnt.
The shocking behaviour of Berbatoss and Kean combined with the lack lustre displays by Engerland over the last countless years have simply grown my disillusionment. Players dont care about their clubs, but bizarrely English players dont care about Engerland either. International footballers need to be fired up and sent out, in their correct positions, to try and do the jobs that they are paid to do!
The last manager to truely do that was EL Tel. Winning national sides have coaches from that country, just look at the croats!

Just saving it to my fav's, looks like you gotta download something, does it take long? (As in do I need to set 30mins aside before the next match?)
Nah doesn't take long. If you google for Livefooty it will have various feeds from other sopcast like programs that run in your browser.
It's what I use in the USA to watch the games, when they aren't being shown on the only soccer channel here (they play about 3/4 EPL games a week).
Sometimes the connection is a bit spotty, and it will cause your computer to need a restart, but usually I can catch about 75-80 of the actual game.

Welcome, sir. Lots of good there. I was an El Tel fan (I also like Minder, Only Fools & The Sweeney

Come on Croatia!!
Holy Shitballs! Modric's goal was a corker - can't wait to see him do that in a Spurs shirt.
As for England, I'm struggling to care. I'll watch it but with the same impassiveness I reserve for Bolton Vs. Wigan on a Monday night. 2-1 Croatia I reckon.
