Opinion appears to be split between those who view him as a past his best, latent alcholic, overweight Brazilian and those who cannot wait to swap him for Darren Bent. Ha, if we keep Benty at The Lane for another season it may take dental records to tell them apart.
I could weep over the excitment over this heavily mooted six month loan job.
Untill we get a midfield that can both defend and structure some class of cohesive supply to the forwards it is completely irrelevant how many strikers we sign or what their pedigree is.
Anyway, here's Adriano's latest offerings..
..a missed penalty.
Maybe we should divert our energies to the guy who made the decent cross in the first clip?

I bloody 'ope not
Dont worry about this story because it is such a load of bollocks. Harry was in Italy to watch and talk to Oliver Dacourt and this will be sorted by the ned of the week if he decides to bring him to the lane.
Desparation signings a sign of desparate times!
No power in team or style of football...very concerned season ticket holder!
Bents and Bentleys may well cost us!

Adriano was easily the best player on Pro Evolution Soccer 6. It was impossible to play anyone online who didn't play as either Inter or Brazil. Cheating gits.
Why do all these modern Brazilian footballers lose their way so easily? Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Adriano, Denilson... you know your career is in the shitter if you're happy to join Bolton.
Reply to Perryman:
Now we're 'cooking with gas', eh?
Might be worth a punt on loan to see how he does until the end of the season. Pretty useless though if we can't get him and any of the forwards the right service. Midfield is the problem and has been for a long time. The forwards we have would do well if they were supplied with decent balls. Instead they are chasing lost causes and challenging for high balls up to them.

Why is it that the whole world and wife can see our main problem is midfield. No tough tackler , no decent left footer. Who is going to get ball to Adriano if he does decide to join us in our relegation battle ? Cant we send Bently to Inter ? Not to play just tell him to feck off.
This story could have some truth, I have heard through a good source about a week and a half ago that we were bringing in someone from inter milan on loan. We were asked by this source to find a temporary property for this player!! I personally would love to see Stephen Hunt in a spurs shirt
Reply to DAVSPURS:
I had to stop reading this as it was actually beginning to hurt.
Some of you may not agree with me however i think Spurs should cut their losses.
Here are the players we should consider loaning out or replacing:
Bent: No confiidence. Time to move along.
Bentley: Need i explain why? He's been on the pitch doign somthing but what ever it is, it's not football.
Bale: Can't defend. We cannot afford to be teaching a defender to defend in this sort of situation. If we leave these gaps they will get exploited.
Jenas: I like Jenas. He scores against the Scum but other than that he's quite happy to be mediocre. Not good enough.
Assou-Ekotto: Wreckless, shows glimpses of quality but never passes the opportunity to let us down.
another hollywood signing for a position we have relatively well covered.
Do we never fucking learn our lessons.
Think media have assumed Redknapp went to watch Adriano? Burdiso and Dacourt were apparently discussed and Redknapp spoke to Dacourt reps and even he has a heap of clubs interested including nearby Italian one which suits him for his kids schooling etc.

Anyone fancy chipping in to get DAVSPURS !!!!!!!!! (INSANE CAPITAL LETTER WRITING MAN!) some private tutoring? I would love to read his opinion with some punctuation, maybe a few lower case letters, evidence of use of a dictionary...
p.s. Adriano sits on a throne of lies...
Did i say lies? I meant pies.
Reply to PABLO:
Why don't we play Bale as a wide left winger? Today he is so tired after running 60m that the eventual cross is shit.
I would think Dacourt is the guy he was looking at. Does Adriano fit the bill of playing partner for Defoe. Some how don't think so.
Reply to the philanthropist:
I think we should start by getting him a new keyboard - it's clearly stuck in CAPS and the full stop key is on the way out too. They're only about a tenner these days aren't they?
Either that, or that's actually his writing style. He wants to ween himself off the ephedrine...
Looks like we could have another Gilberto on our hands.
So harry lays into the players post Wigan, calls them lazy, accuses them of being here for the money and not giving a shit... and then goes out and signs someone who is the living embodiment of everything that's wrong with the squad?
Hmmm... I smell something fishy. And I'm not talking about the contents of Baldric's apple crumble.
Maybe the whole Adriano thing was just a dead herring (I know) to deflect attention away from the real task of recruiting Dacourt.
Reply to jolsgonemental:
I am beginning to wonder if Levy's player purchasing is soley driven by replica shirt sales.
Reply to HarryHotspur:
that wont cover the cost of relegation.
Jones from Sunderland (swap with Bent?), Hunt, Appiah, Glen Johnson. Nothing exciting, but i think it may keep us up.
no one who may need time to bed in need apply. except for maybe appiah who is free.
personally i would like to see Adriano at the lane cos it werent too long ago he was a top player and Harry has got a good habit of bringing the best out of "past players". i trust Harry 100% with his signings and think this time next year we will be in a much stronger position. at last we have a manager who says everything on camara that we all have been thinking for a while in regards to how week our squad is and how unbalanced it is. he will get rid of the dead wood and sort that lot out.....and thats for sure!
Our buying policy is about putting out fires. We should have insulated the building from fire by now with foresight and youth, but we didn't and it keeps breaking out. We make reactive purchases to douse the flames.
Reply to HarryHotspur:
They`ll only do Adriano`s in XXXL
Adriano is a quality striker...everybody knows about the brazilian players reputations when it comes to certain aspects of their private life. But maybe being wanted by another club will provide him with some motivation. He is a solid finisher who knows where the net is and hes a very strong player he can hold his own against any defender. So when he gets a famous spurs long winded ball he might be able to cope with it unlike bent.
Put it another way, we should have instigated a policy of vaccination against disaster. We should be - as much as any club can be - proof against the kind of crisis happening now by insuring the health of our entire squad, top to bottom. We haven't so we fall prey to regular infections, and buy whatever medicine (in the form of a player) will work at the time.
Personally, I couldn't swallow a whole Adriano.
Reply to 9__37:
doesn't help when the like of Manure and Liverpiddle come along and steal the batteries from your smoke alarm...
Also...Sol Campbell a name that makes a spurs fan cringe...He is a prime example of a player that should clearly be past his peak yet hes put in MOTM performances this season Redknapps holds faith in players. I am surprised that he wants to get rid of Bale. Bale and Lennon are similar in the aspect that, they both showed immense talent at first..but then Lennon had his spell of 100% wasted crosses and sprinting into trouble. A player does not get bad overnight Bale will improve and the same applies for Adriano.
I made it to the end of the obstacle course that is DavSpurs post, and now I'm all intrigued.
It makes me wonder what I've been missing by skipping them in the past. Damn it.
Reply to Nunchucks:
The gist of Davspurs posts (recently anyway) is that alot of the other teams in the PL are using ephedrine to enhance player power and stamina. And that Spurs aren't, which is why we're falling behind.
I DONT HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOUR
look you idiots, the formula here is simple: if tottenham are linked with a player of genuine quality - regardless of how much of a chubster he's become - it aint happening. when are we gonna learn? don't believe the hype. why would he join us from inter where he's just getting back in the team? times our current stature by his ego and jumbo's a no-no.
I dont think we will get relegated. We are too big. I know thats a cliche and you cna list Nottingham Forest, Leeds etc but their teams were poor when they got relegated (i seem to remember leeds having Lamine Sakho and Cyril Chapuis on their books) our team is a good team.
Transfers- I believe we could do worse than Adriano, but would rather Kevin Doyle. I also believe Stephen Hunt would be a wise signing no matter how much he is hated. More than anything i want Palacios and Valencia off Wigan, i know its unlikely but they would be ideal signings for this season.
The one problem i can see with our team is the link player between defence and midfield, not so much a shielder but someone who wants the ball, and stops Dawson or, worse, Woodgate playing ridiculous diagonal long balls. Palacios or Dacourt please.
Outs- Persevere with Bale he oozes potential. SELL BENTLEY i have never hated a Spurs player before but he is pushing the limits, not least because he claimed he was a Spurs fan when i distinctly remember reading an article on him after he got a hat trick against Utd claiming he was a "red devil 4 life".
I would also send Campbell back and offer for one of Aaron Mclean, Simeon Jackson, Mackail Smith, Ebanks Blake, someoone Redknap can mould.
I would also love to see the odds on Redknapp being in charge this time next year.

adriano not going anywhere
Well at least we know where we stand with Davspurs. He's sticking to his guns on this one and I for one applaud him for his dedication and commitment.
I still dont understand harrys logic in attempting to bring in another striker. i posted yesterday are midfield is the problem ara. pavlechenko all round play is not the greatest however he can finish - the service he is getting is piss poor.
defoe 15 mill? fair enough he can score goals - but not unless we can provide him with service. i am failing to even name 1 midfielder at our club who is up to the required level to take us forward give or take the below 2 players.
ohara - grafter - works hard - committed - can pass.
modric - if given the ball - however he is struggling to cope with the physical presense in the prem league - where he has not got time on the ball, against wigan away he went missing(again so did many players) - i have seen glimpses of him, so im not writing him off - but he needs to take games to the opposition and be more demanding of the ball.
where do we go from here?
i myself am wondering why harry has not brought in any midfielders as that is our problem area..... dacourt - could do a temp job, not long term answer.
i think what harry will do - is bring in a few older players on relative cheap transfer fees and a few loan signings to tie us over to the end of the season, where he will have a massive clearout.
the fact is we have paid hyper inflated prices for our players who are not performing -
bently - poor
jj - poor
lennon - learn to cross!!!!!!
zokora - learn to pass/shoot/cross
all of the above need moved on, its time we played players who are committed and not playing them on reputations or past achievements.
i was even thinkin of a few city players like ireland, johnson who if city plan there overspending this window would be good additions to the squad.
im struggling to think of names who are a) available b) would want to come c) who are better than what we have.
I see Redknapp blew the lid on the Kaka deal ,surely his time would be better served on the training pitch than swanning around Milan talking shite to any reporter who would heed the clown

city wouldnt part with Ireland in a fit. By far there best player so far this season. Better chance of Robhino on loan. Why not chance it? since brazilians are flavour of the month. Oh I forgot, we're sorted for creative midfielders! Like thats stopped us before....
Hmm, yes. Kaka and Ireland. A likely partnership.
Reply to DingDongDes:
the reason i think ireland will be available - is because if man city 2-3 big players (hughes has no say) then ireland, who has been there best player could find himself in the bench + if kaka comes in and hes on 250k a week, ireland could get unhappy as he playing better and on worse wages. they already have swp (although injured) kompany / kaka? so if they added a few more, he could be moved down the pecking order.
im not saying he would be available but no harm in enquiring. even villas reo-coker, whos been played out of position - would be better than jj/thud/zokora, he can tackle, he will work and can at least pass.
Reply to thfcwaynethfc:
I see your point about Ireland. But 1: cant see Kaka comming and 2: cant see hot-hand-hughes letting Ireland go. He's gonna get his game game before SWP (a poor tribute band to sisters with voices).
As for Reo Coker, Well that name's like nails on a chalkboard to me. Would hate to see him in a spurs shirt. HUD is far better. Not sure about ZAK ZAK. Im not a hater but his graft makes up for his lack of end product. As for JJ. Well Im over him like so many ex girlfriends. The spark has gone, and all thats left are the memories. I would swap him for scrabble!

im not getting sucked into this debate again as said b4 im not a comolli fan - i was saying he was been made a scapegoat for spurs failings -
i noticed you didnt mention gomes and corluka in relation to the summer signinigs that mr comolli brought in.
however im moving on from comolli - that is in the past - we need to focus on the present and not start blaming people who are not currently at the club.
Reply to Big Johna:
Is this ITK stuff or just what you have picked up from other media channels?
Reply to DingDongDes:
i honestly think reo coker could do a job in midfield for us at the min - imo he better than jj/zok/thudd (not mobile enough) but agin thats only my opinion.
as said there is a slim chance of letting ireland go - just saying if they brought a few big name players to the club he may will become reluctantly from hughes point of view available.
Reply to thfcwaynethfc:
He probably got fucked off at being told he had to join another queue to pay it too...
Reply to thfcwaynethfc:
Well I agree that he'd be a great aquisition, and being on top form at the moment he could do the job of both aron Lennon and Bentley in the side.
One of my greatest concerns at the moment is are we a bermuda triangle team like Newcastle? Good players go in never to be seen again. I cant help wondering if the likes of david bentley and modric were playing on other teams such as Villa. Would they produce the same sub par performance so regularly? I know its hypathetical but Newcastle is a graveyard for anyone worth there tuppence.
Lets hope Harry give Dos Santos a go!, I can't believe we will let this lad go withouy giving him a game. He played at Chelsea and was good. He has a sweet left foot and is talented. Why does Harry not play the lad. I know he's been injured but he is fit now and been on the bench for the last 2 games.
Please give the boy a game!
Reply to DingDongDes:
i agree, however i think we have never replaced carrick as a holding midfielder - that is the player we have missed the most - keane and berba can be replaced - however we have failed to provide oursleves with a decent DM and until we do the likes of modric will fail to flourish.
if there was only 1 position that could be bought in this window it would have to be DM area, thats why i fail to realise the logic of 15million for defoe when midfield is clearly are weakest area, i would not be suprised if we brought in bellamy as well.
Message to HR - BUT A DECENT DEFENSIVE MIDFIELDER!!!
HERE HERE! seeing modric play the second SS/AM role and spending the game man marking our 18 yard box is beginning to grate on me. No wonder Pavs or Bent couldnt get a touch. A quality DM like Diarra would give the other players confidence to attack in numbers like we did against liverpoool in the cup. We could have scored 12. We should be doing that week in week out. That Liverpool squad was no worse set up than wigan, west brom or Newcastle. Our passing isnt too bad its just horizontal. Everybody stands about the middle 3rd like statues knocking it 6feet left and right. That is until there pocket gets picked and were back defending. I dont want to watch another match from behind a cushion.
Can anyone think of a good Adrian? Don’t know who this guy thinks he’s kidding, he’s called Adrian.
I’ve tried and can only think of:
Adrian Charles
Adrian Edmondson
Rubbish.

Sorry, the tears of sadness dripping on my keyboard fused the sarcasm button to the shift key. Apologies.
The unabridged hilarity made it worth it. Apology denied.
I was looking at the 76/77 side (last time we went down)... Hoddle, Jones, Coates, Perryman, Osgood, Taylor, Duncan, Young, Armstrong, McAllister, Pratt, Neighbour, Alfie Conn & Ian Moores. With the exception of the last couple, not a bad side. A fair few of them had been in our UEFA cup final side & had won the league cup.
It really does come down to motivation and I think HR is right to shake a few illusions that we're 'too good'. The worrying thing for me is that looking at our current transfer activity, there seems to be no plan. The club seem to be looking at damage limitation and only signing short term loanees - This means if HR DOES get us out the mire, he has to start all over again next season... If that is, HR will be there next season.

Hoddle - Still in nappies at the time footbal wise.
Jones - The infamous nearly man. A grafter but bugger all else.
Coates - Never really did anything at Tottenham and well at the end of his WHL career by then.
Perryman - Yes give you that one.
Osgood - Hopeless. Too small for a centre half. Only lasted a season and a half and then faded right out of the game.
Taylor - Hmm. He was ok but another who under achieved really.
Duncan - Turning circle of an articulated lorry.
Young - Bambi on ice
Armstrong - see Jones
Pratt - a Jamie O'Hara
Neighbour - late in his career too.
Conn - Brilliant on his day. Usually 29th Feb
Moores - Oh come on
