Sebastian Giovinco: The Talk Of The Town

Tuesday, 22 July 08, 04:27 PM

Young Sebastian Giovinco is regarded as one of Europe's top young talents, and is tipped to be a star in the near future.

Having recently returned to Juventus after spending last season on loan to Empoli, there has been some disputes over the renewal of his contract between the player and the club.

Premier League clubs Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are all said to have their antennas up, and are keeping tabs on the situation, with hopes of bringing the player to England.

Arsene Wenger, who is known for his interest in young talent, is said to be lining up a bid for Giovinco next summer along with Italian Under-21 team-mate Claudio Marchisio.

Juve is said to be willing to sell both players to Arsenal, provided that they include Robin Van Persie in the deal. Van Persie was linked in a shock transfer over the weekend to the Turin club, and is highly valued in the eyes of the current Juventus management team.

Here's Giovinco in action:

Ok, i've managed to watch half the video. Tiny tiny man does a drag-back and scores easy goals at a training ground. Why oh why would we swap an experienced warrior (with AFC at his heart0 in Van Persie, for someone who would get knocked over by Shaun Wright-Phillips (no offense SVP)? If this is a transfer rumour then i'll eat my hat. And your mum's hat.

Haha, whilst most of those looked like training grounds I was shocked to see that the foggy field surrounded by sheds but with no fans was actually Atalanta's ground. Some of these tribute videos seem a bit homo-erotic to me, I dunno maybe I'm just an arsehole...

RvP leaving? Hmm, well he'd be a big loss to our morale but honestly what's he done in the last season and a half? Great bloke, will never live up to the Bergkamp progeny tag and damn brittle for my liking, so maybe if we get a decent offer...?

x AFCtrue,
I do see your point. Problem is that here in Italy, believe me, no Juventus fan would ever swap Giovinco with Van Persie (not to mention the double Giovinco-Marchisio). There would be street brawls if the Juve TopeExec did it...
Just to make u understand how the the young chap is seen this place.
Definetely, Arsene Wenger knows football.
