I had a brilliant blog laid out and ready for tonight. I had eaten dinner, done the vacuuming and dusting (sort of) and was all ready to sit at this very keyboard and impart some brilliant wisdom on you the beloved reader.
Then the phone rang and it transpires that my olds (parents to you lot not down with the kids) had managed to lock themselves out of both their house and garage, no mean feat I am sure you will agree.
So a 25 minute each way drive was required to liberate them from their exile in the front garden. Fortunately the only damage was done to a fish pie that had come from the chester freezer (in the garage) to the house before being locked out of both and having to be left on the wall to de-frost.
There was a funny halibut like aroma up the drive way and despite now being inside their house I am sure the wailing cats that have followed the scent will be keeping them awake.
The tragic thing about this whole sorry business is that I have now completely forgotten what I was going to talk about tonight and despite wracking my brain I am no nearer coming up with the goods.
It might have been about sponsorship. It might have been about the managers challenges with finding players who aren't moneycentric mercenaries.
It wasn't about Susan Boyle.
