Sunday mornings don't get much better than this. An hour and a half battling the wind, but thankfully dodging the showers on my bike and getting home in time to see the last 9k's of Nicole Cooke winning the womens olympic road race.
Well done Nicole, I only wish my sprint finish was half as good. And I wish my bike was as nice as your carbon Boardman bike...
It's making it a nice sporting weekend after Terras opened their Blue Square Premier campaign with a comprehensive three one victory over Grays Athletic.
The Essex based side are being touted as one of the pre-season favourites and it barely took them 5 minutes to get off the mark.
Fortunately we were back level quickly with skipper Anton Robinson levelling and scoring for the second consecutive opening day.
Stephen Reed, a summer capture from Cambridge put Terras in front just before the break (never a bad time to score!!!).
The three points were secured when "Nanny" McPhee bagged a third.
JHMBE will be delighted with this win and it sets us up nicely for a couple of tricky upcoming games.
Elsewhere in the BSP, Stevenage were heavily beaten 5-0 at Wrexham with our old friend Jefferson Louis on the scoresheet.
Smiles all round today!
