Friday the 13th eh? Goodness knows what bad things will happen to me today on this eeriest of days. Hopefully nothing, but I am a little superstitious.

There is certainly an element of mystery surrounding WFC at the moment with the top secret million pound striker in talks and the teaser about the identity of the new club sponsor.

Of course plenty of people have a strong suspicion over the identity of both, but it will be interesting to see how accurate or otherwise the speculation will be when the news hits.

In terms of the million pound striker, I just hope that the club is getting its pr right. Usually when a club goes public over a proposed transfer it has two motives. It's either a done deal and they are getting the fans anticipation level up. Or they know they have no chance of making the signing and are placating the fans by showing the are at least making moves in the market.

I hope that after some of the challenges that the club has faced in their recent relationship with their support that this is no 'publicity stunt' and we have a genuine chance of a deal.

As for the sponsor and the fact that it is a "football first", I have no steer at all (I kind of have an idea of the strikers identity!). We all know the big businesses in the area and we all know how reluctant some of them have been in our hours of need. So it  will be very interesting.

I am off to the Notts-Durham Twenty20 tomorrow so the blog might be taking another weekend off...

Sorry!

If there is a signing to report I will be on it.

Honest!
