Don't worry readers, if you are cringing reading that headline it is fine, I feel humiliated for having written it!
(edit: And I have just seen the Echo beat me to it !!)
Despite some confusion over who he may have a contract with it has been confirmed that the 8th player this summer to enter the big Terras house will be Scott Brice. The big defender came from BGB side Yate Town and was multi decorated as player of the season despite getting relegated.
Tiverton Town had claimed that Brice had joined them back in early June, but I am wondering if we are back in the situation where players can sign forms for clubs in different competitions as they are part time. I am sure some expert on the non-contract, 7 day approach rule can help me out with that.
It is claimed that he has a one year deal though so I remain confused on some levels!
I see that rival Weymouth FC blogs are springing up all over the place at the moment which is brilliant. Healthy competition might make this site less crap (!) and as the majority of work has been done by younger fans you have to say the Terras will benefit from this added publicity.
The official club blog interests me greatly too. Like many supporters (and this can also be linked into the headline) I was wondering what was happening to the club in recent days.
It isn't too long ago that the papers were reporting we were on the brink again and £50,000 was desperately needed. No-one was coming through the in door and Andy Tillson left the club.
Then we started signing players again, starting with Kyle Critchell, and we are back in the groove for pre-season.
Mystifying.
This site is of course 'backing the board' and will be interested to know what, if anything has changed to allow us to get on with making signings.
Also interesting to see that Paul Cocks of the board has used the clubs official website blog to keep supporters up to date as opposed to the message board.
I think this is a great idea as there are very few successful clubs where the powers that be use an internet forum as a means of communication.
The one thing I disagree with in that blog is the situation with Mr Browning. I still fail to see what he has added to the club, but if there is a chance for him to remain for the remainder of his contract then I look forward to him proving me wrong on the park.
All the best matey, hope to see TerrasBlog rise from the camphor again one day.
