Let's be crystal clear on this, I hate snow.
None of this "it's pretty" lark for me. It is cold, it is wet and it makes getting around difficult. I hate it. Rubbish.
Peterborough has a good 5 inches or so this morning, which made getting work a nightmare and getting home is likely to be even worse. Still at least there is some news on the progress of the Terras saviour plan coming out of the Dorset Evening Echo.
Bugger.....
So we now have to rely on Malcolm Curtis to do the right thing by the club and provide some assistance to Hill and Power in their negotiations. The alternative as the article says is the club going into administration or worse.
Gary Calder has released the following statement...
I would like to give everybody an update on the visit of Colin Hill and Lee Power.
Both guys have been at the football club for the last two days and have now gone back to London to their lawyers to go through the information they have gained on their visit. Both Colin and
Lee very much want to try and save the football club but a lot depends on a meeting they are due to have with Malcolm Curtis and Ernie Batty in the next 24/48 hours. The investment they will
have to make into the football club would be a minimum of an initial seven figure sum, so I am sure you all understand why it is taking longer than anticipated.
As soon as I have any more information I will update you.
Regards
Gary Calder
...which clarifies where we are and what needs to hapeen for the club to survive.
Even with the skepticism I have expressed over the motives of the potential new owners, I can now see with my own eyes that options are exhausted and this has to happen.

I am hoping that you like the new layout and slight tweaks on the site.
One of the things with doing a blog as part of a network is that you are bound by their rules and when OleOle update their templates TerrasBlog goes with it. You could view that as a negative, but I would prefer to focus on the positive's of being part of a world wide soccer, social networking site.
I have received messages from all over the globe from people who have either been to Weymouth or are from Weymouth. They are all able to keep in touch with the club and using the 'subscribe' option to the right of here, can get the blog in their inbox everytime it is updated (technology eh?).
We have made some influential friends during our time with TerrasBlog including respectec bloggers at both Arsenal and Barcelona. As often mentioned on the podcast, their help and assistance is invaluable in running this site.
Enough introspection though, let's talk Terras. Bad weather apparently prevented Colin Hill and Lee Power from making it to the Wessex yesterday. I know it is my warped mind, but I had a dream about them sitting in one of the dugouts surrounded by piles and piles of ledgers and paperwork establishing their due diligence. I can only imagine how complex these proceesses are, but I hope they are going well.
The fact that they are taking time shows just what sort of a mess the club is in and that a thorough approach is needed to get the true extent of the situation appraised. A lot of people have a lot of love for Weymouth Football Club and it is important that the right decisions are made this time to ensure the long term survival of non-league football in the town.
Don't make me think about founding my own club again!!
Finally regular readers of the forum will know I have been (unsuccessfully) trying to get my hands on the blue away shirt.
It isn't part of the online store offering, but my good friend and fellow native of this region, Mr Sporran (!) has alterted me to their availability in the club shop!! I am making calls and hopfully my near perfect collection from 1992 to the present day can be preserved. Wish me luck!!
Elusive!

Stupid PC, I just had a brilliant blog written and it crashed and lost it.
The sum of it is that we are holding off doing the podcast until the current period of due dilligence is completed and Weymouth FC has its new owners.
It is important to stress that the situation with the club is so desperate as underlined by the Bournemouth local paper interview with Anton Robinson.
I have a great amount of sympathy with the former Terras captain. He clearly had enough and wanted out but to find out at the 11th hour that he would have to waive 6 weeks back pay owed by Weymouth before they would agree to his release is bad form. I can't believe it actually happened like this and am confident that it is local paper over-egging.
The match with Torquay scheduled for this evening is off and there is only one game on across the country tonight.
What the hell am I going to do all evening?
Monday, 02 February 09, 01:17 PM
Despite assurances that no further members of the current squad would be sold during this transfer window, Weymouth skipper Anton Robinson has joined local League Two side AFC Bournemouth for a small fee.
Robinson joined the Terras from the Exeter acadmeny during the Martyn Harrison meltdown period and despite a shaky start has been consistent and solid for the club.
Gary Calder had been quoted as saying no further player movement out would be happening on advice of the prospective new owners, but it would appear that the lack of wages over the last week might have tested Robinsons patience to the extent that he made the decision to leave.
Calder himself is expected to move to Cambridge United later in the week if the deal to bring Colin Hill and Lee Power to the Wessex goes ahead. If it doesn't the club will cease to exist.
Sources in Peterborough are saying that Hill is looking to move POSH out of London Road to a new stadium (he owns the ground) quicker than his original timing, which may free up more cash to invest in the Terras.
His relationship with POSH Director of Football Barry Fry has led to rumours that out of favour defender Shane Blackett could be heading to the South Coast on loan.
He would follow Ashley Vickers, Lee Phillipott, Bradley Thomas, Wayne Purser and Richard Logan as recent former Peterborough players to pitch up at the Wessex.

A pretty eventful day for the TerrasBlogger today. I have been having a tricky time getting my head round everything that's going on at the club in the last 24 hours and the frustration and anger that came through in yesterdays post certainly showed how I was feeling.
My mood hasn't been helped by someone (not very skillfully it has to be said) discovering that there is a comments section on the blog and going on the attack against my viewpoint. It's fair to say that in putting my neck on the line and writing TerrasBlog that I don't expect 100% of the readership to agree with what I say. But using 3 different names in two minutes to post abusive comments from the same IP address is not going to defeat me!
One of the people who was impersonated has asked that the IP address be forwarded on. I would hope that they would accept the deletion of the comments as the end of the matter and I would ask that whomever did this refrain from those sort of antics from now on. For me that is subject closed.
I write this blog as a reflection of my moods and opinions on Weymouth FC and whilst I am certainly not always right, nor ever beyond criticism, I am always totally independant and always have the good of the club in mind.
With that in mind I want to make a suggestion.
I am happy to point out that I was contacted by a representative of the club today who informed me that this deal would not mean the end of Rushden & Diamonds and that the intentions of both Mr Hill and Mr Power are true.
And whilst I remain wary (through no fault of my contact at the club I hasten to say) I would like the opportunity to do an interview with the perspective new owners for them to alay my concerns.

Football is an amazing game isnt it? It can enthrall and entertain you like no other sport in the world...
Some days though it can leave you feeling sick to the pit of your gut. I love Weymouth FC, or at least I think I do, everything is up in the air at the moment.
Even reading the forum in the last five minutes has left me astonished to the amount of comments showing a lack of consideration for Rushden fans.
Let me fill you in if you are late home from work. The Rushden ownership dream team of Colin Hill and Lee Power is carrying out due dilligence on taking over Weymouth FC. It would leave the Diamonds high and dry, but some of our supporters dont seem to care.
Power was Chairman of Cambridge and Colin Hill is the brother of former Terras supremo Garry Hill. If you remember he was going to be the new owner about three owners ago. And then wasn't.
The other amazing news is that if these people don't take over our club we are going to skip administration and be liquidated straight away.
Three or four members of the supporters trust board are alleged to have resigned in recent days... where will it end?
Many fans are calling for support for the new owners (if they are to become new owners). For me it is the fans of Rushden that will need support if their club ceases to exist overnight.
This is the most ridiculous day in the most recent history of a ridiculous football club.
I am gutted.

Elam, Elam what's the score????
ha ha ha have that you blonde one trick show pony.
Weymouth carried on where they left off at Kidderminster last weekend with a comfortable 3-0 home win over woeful Northwich Victoria at the Wessex yesterday.
You can be sure with the way my prescence curses the Terras that the fact I stayed away in the end contributed to the result so for that reason I am giving myself the man of the match award.
Hot property Stuart Beavon scored twice in the first ten minutes of the first half to end the match as a contest. It was left to Lee Phillips to add the third on the half hour on his second home debut.
It is brilliant to see the way the team has responded to all of the trauma surrounding the ownership issue, I am very proud of the way they have been. As we get nearer the end of the window you only hope that we can keep the team together until the end of the season.
I am not going to hold my breath too much though as The Echo mentioned gong part time and administration, both options would break up the current squad.
I accept all of the criticism that comes my way for not being ultra positive about Malcolm Curtis' departure. In fact I think we are actually in an even worse position if no-one comes in and takes the club on.
But the general opinion seems to be to keep positive and keep trying to keep optimistic.
Let's see if I can keep that up when recording the podcast tomorrow !
Saturday, 24 January 09, 05:37 AM
Firstly apologies to those of you (and there may have been some) looking forward to the TerrasBlog podcast outside broadcast today.
As you can see from the timing of this post I am still in Peterborough so we will have to do it another Saturday.
There will be a BlogCast this week with the usual content.
Understandably there would be a large number of Weymouth fans who would be angry at Beaver for joining our number one hated club, but I would appeal to supporters to see the bigger picture.
Let's be clear at the start. I hate Yeovil, the town the people the club. I had to work there for a couple of years and it was terrible. I used to arrive at the Ridgeway on my driver home every night and breath a sigh of relief.
But if you put yourself in Stuart Beavon's position and they come in for him. What would you do?
Despite their current league position, Town are a well run club who generally stick with an owner and manager. And despite having moved to an out of town stadium they still manage to generate income on non-match days (we used to have all of our work meetings there and the catering was great).
Weymouth on the other hand are a total shambles off the park and have more managers than our McDonalds during the calendar year.
You also take into account the fact that our club is still on the brink and it is a no-brainer. Much as I hate to say it, if Yeovil want to take Beavon, he would go with my good wishes. It is too good an opportunity for him to turn down.
I would love for him to stay on the south coast and become a Weymouth hero for years, but deep down I know we can't afford him. We dont have anyone owning the club for god's sake!
I love Weymouth and I love Weymouth Football Club but it has gone so far beyond a farce now it isn't funny.
People still call for the club to come together and for the fans to help put it all right. Most of the long term fans I talk to are utterly worn out by the whole thing and are still planning new ways to spend a Saturday afternoon.
Maybe the loss of Beavon (if as we expect he does go somewhere during January) will be the catalyst to bring everyone back together and working towards the common aim. Losing your best player to your local rivals would be a feeling none of us would want to feel more than once.
Oh and we play Northwich today in the league...
Thursday, 22 January 09, 06:23 AM
I have to say that even in the history of this football club the past 48 hours has left me confused.
Just to clarify. Malcolm Curtis pulled the plug on the club back in December and left his shares with a holding company. The consortium looking to take over, haven't taken over and we are now left with the total club in limbo.
One or two pertanent questions remain unanswered as we hurtle towards the end of the season. Before I get on to those, one thing that is apparent is that with no real owner, Weymouth Football Club remains on the critical list with fading vital signs.
Here are what I see as the key questions...
... I am sure I could add many more.
One thing is for certain, nothing is straightforward with this football club anymore. And that saddens me greatly.
Wednesday, 21 January 09, 03:03 AM
So it turns out the resolution is that nothing is resolved and we now have a holding company owner the bulk of Weymouth FC shares.
If it didnt involve our football club it would be amusing. How has it got to the stage where the former Chairman can get out, but the new consortium have eased back and not come in?
I admire each and every one of the local businessmen who is looking to take the club on. With its recent history I don't think I would touch it even if I found out I was related to the Abou Dabi royal family.
I saw the Dorset Echo article yesterday asking the town to get behind the Terras in yet another hour of need... You could realistically put a case for the townsfolk to say "why should we?".
Malcolm Curtis delivered a parting shot, calling the club harder to govern than Afghanistan. But he couldn't even come up with his own catchphrase... Ian Ridley (another derided former Chairman) had said the same thing in the Non League Paper back in December.
This may seem like a down beat post, but I can only call it as I see it. And I am gutted with the way things are panning out. The new era is looking like a false dawn.

Bit dis-jointed this week.. A preview of the announcement this morning and a review of the not too much detail announcement this evening, spliced together with the quality production and editing you would expect of TerrasBlog!

Amazingly it looks like Weymouth might actually be playing a football match tomorrow when they visit Kidderminster Harriers in the Blue Square Premier.
I can barely remember the one nil home defeat to Torquay over Christmas and it is a bizarre scenario that has seen us go three weeks without a match (and valuable income).
Kidderminster are a good side, having recently run Coventry City close in the FA Cup and in Justin Richards and that Barnes-Homer Simpson bloke they have a strike pairing that will cause us problems at the back.
Weymouth will of course have an increased goal threat with the return of Super Lee and if we can have him in tandem with Beaver (until he is inevitably sold) then we could return from the wastelands of the midlands with something tomorrow.
It is a real key time of the season for Terras now. They have to start getting some points together so we keep in the mix in the top half. If we get nothing tomorrow then the pressure against Northwich at home next weekend will be even more intense. Get a point tomorrow and the pressure eases a little.
I am going to punt (as I did on the BlogCast) for a 1-1 draw. Come on you Terras!
Thursday, 15 January 09, 07:35 AM
We have had more statments that a worried banker in recent times and it looks like the next few days will leave us stressing again as the long term future of Weymouth FC looks up for grabs.
With the rumours doing the rounds yesterday that primary mover Dave Higson had walked away. And I would not like to go into too much detail about his alleged motives for leaving the piece, but enough of you have emailed me the same thing for their to be any ambiguity.
Regardless of the outcome of the talks, Dave Higson will be remembered as a man who kept the club afloat on a number of occasions. That view can never be tarnished.
But anyway, in the statement released today, Gary Calder has denied that Mr Higson has walked away. So it could all be nonsense. But then this is Weymouth FC.
Here is the statement in full from the BBC Sport website....
Weymouth will issue a statement on Monday regarding the proposed takeover of the Blue Square Premier club.
Chief executive Gary Calder countered reports suggesting director Dave Higson had decided to end his involvement with the consortium.
He told BBC Radio Solent: "We are still talking to Mr Higson and a number of others about joining."
Prior to Christmas, Calder announced an agreement with majority shareholder Malcolm Curtis had been reached.
In other news, Stuart Beavon continues to attract interest from AFC Bournemouth. I would like to think (as I said on the podcast) that Beaver would think twice before going to a club that is almost certainly going to be relegated to the league he will have just left. I dont think that financially and stability wise they are any better from us.
It will be interesting to see how this pans out over the next few days.
You never know I may publish the name of another person in the frame to get involved tomorrow!!!
Tuesday, 13 January 09, 02:23 PM
Its the 13th day of January and the 13th TerrasBlogCast is now available to listen too online or download and enjoy on your mp3 player or i-pod.
Despite us not having played a match yet this year so far there is still the regulation 15 minutes of material.
And don't forget, TerrasBlogCast remains the only club specific Blue Square Premier Podcast. Something to be justified in your pride over!
Click here to listen online or download.
And don't foget the design some boxer shorts competition.
Monday, 12 January 09, 01:45 PM
Bleurghhhh I am sick of this bloody winter and sick of being sick.
Thankfully there is still nothing happening in the world of Weymouth FC and I will try and sniff my way through the BlogCast tomorrow.
Things I do for my readers eh?!
Thanks for the humerous entries to the "design a pair of boxer shorts competition" so far. Keep up the good work and try and make them a bit cleaner!!!
Right, short and sweet today, but I am off to the sofa for some sympathy...
Sunday, 11 January 09, 11:02 AM
No match yesterday means I am really struggling for content on the TerrasBlog at the moment. But I thought I would take the opportunity to post so at least you all still know I am out there and breathing!
It is frustrating to watch chums over at Arseblog and Barcablog brimming with match analysis and transfer gossip.
In a way not having tons of stuff to blog about has been a bonus. There is so much wedding planning going on at the moment that I would think football could be an obstruction getting in the way of discussing boquet colours! ha ha it's not that bad but the mid winter break Terras are getting is a nice opportunity to take some time away from the Blue Square Premier and I have spent the weekend following the Premiership.
Thankfully Arsenal banged in a late winner against the despicable Bolton Wanderers and Manchester United currently lead Chelsea.
Having spent some time away from watching the top division in England (due to my well documented issues with greed and the erosion of club identities) I have to say it has been refreshing to get some minutes in watching the best players in the world.
You might be expecting me to have a giggle at the expense of our near neighbours Dorchester Town. Only a few weeks ago they were rumoured to have been taking over our club in a merger. Now their entire squad is available for transfer and a 50% pay reduction is in the offer for those that remain.
I am now struggling to think of a south coast senior football club that isn't in some kind of trouble over money or ground ownership.
From Brighton, through Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth to Weymouth it seems the readies are at a premium in this credit crunch.
I have no idea what the answer is but with Weymouth not playing again this weekend I have the opportunity to catch up on a mountain of ironing. BlogCast to come on Tuesday of this week...
Friday, 09 January 09, 06:00 AM
Happy Friday readers!
Been a long week hasn't it? first one back after Christmas and all. The week has been made even longer by nothing happening with regards to Weymouth FC once Lee Phillips had signed and Scott Doe said no to Farnborough.
The York match fell foul of the weather on Tuesday and I was left kicking my heels for content on the BlogCast. David Laws still hasn't agreed to an interview so we decided it best to have a midseason break.
So for this week only the BlogCast is about a visible as the blue away kit in the club shop...
At least we should have a match to look forward to this weekend. I am closer than most to Histon and the weather up here feels a lot milder this morning compared to recent days. And it's not like the ball gets anywhere near the grass when they play anyway.
I dont want to go over old ground, but I hate Histon and I hope that we beat them heavily. I suspect though that if we get back on the bus and head back down the A1 or A14 (depending on coach driver) with a point. Alan Lewer Lua will be a delighted little chap. And I will be too!
The Manager has gone on record this week as saying there is plenty more transfer activity likely at the Wessex over the next few weeks. More out than in I suspect, but we used the loan system to our advantage last season and I would hope we could stave off the thread of relegation in that way again this campaign.
Is Chris Blackburn getting a game at Aldershot?
Thanks so far for you entries to the latest competition. We will be publishing some of the best efforts on the site as we get near to the closing date.
Tuesday, 06 January 09, 06:05 AM
Just when we had hoped that some football would break out and relieve us all from the monotony of board room politics at the Wessex Stadium. Jack Frost (not the one of telly played by Del Boy) comes along and kills our fun.
If you are by any chance reading this in York before setting off towards the south coast. Don't bother the match is off. Rubbish!
What this does do is give me a bit of time to launch the latest (and greatest) TerrasBlog competition.
As mentioned on the blog yesterday, the TerrasBlog online store is celebrating its relaunch by offering you, the readers, a chance to design a product for sale.
TerrasBlog has always been famous for selling Steve Claridge boxer shorts a few years ago but the undies we want in the store now could be your design.
Have a look at the image above and using MS paint or any other design software, come up with a Jpeg to fit on the bottom half of one side of the shorts. About 8cm square (or 3 inches for the oldies)
Once you have it designed, sent it over to jimmythecuckoo@hotmail.com with you name and address and you will be entered in the competition.
Prize will be the first crisp new pair of white pants off the production line.
I am giving you a bit of time to get your thinking caps on (but remember you can't use copyrighted material) so the closing date is the end of January.
Good luck and may the best pants win!
