Not True News 30/09/08

Saturday, 30 August 08, 11:22 AM

Weymouth FC has launched its own competition to rival that of TerrasBlog.

Of course, the blog is running its first "Beat the Blogger" since 2003 challenging you to send us photos of you in Weymouth shirts at world landmarks.

You have to be beat mine which is of me holding the Champions League Trophy in the Nou Camp, Barcelona

 Send your entries to mailto:jimmythecuckoo@hotmail.com

Awesome... anyway on to the Terras official contest which is called.

"Where's Marcus?"

Yes they are challenging you the supporter, to find out what has happened to Marcus Browning's player contract.

You will need skill and cunning to complete this adventure having to unearth a series of clues from the Wessex Stadium up to Dorchester Road and down to Monmouth Avenue. You will need the skill of Thierry Henry and the composure of Jose Mourhinho.

The prize is a mars bar from the ground caterers which beats the Anton Robinson England shirt we are offering as our prize (in value at least!!!).

So which competition are you entering?

Not True News 23/08/08

Saturday, 23 August 08, 11:18 AM

Weymouth Football Club have been rocked to the core this week with the news that former boss Jason Tindall has been cleared of a speeding offence. Click here for the Echo article.

Tindall was absolved of blame as he could not see from his diary who was driving the leased car, but he knew it wasn't him.

Here at Not True News we have been keen to pursue the truth of what happened here and have enlisted the help of new re-formed X-Files duo Mulder and Scully.

Here is an exclusive sneak preview of their reports.

Mulder "The truth is out there Scully"

Scully "There is one thing in this case I don't understand."

Mulder "I know, why wouldn't the police speed camera show the glow of Jason Tindalls tan when the picture was taken. He looks like the bloody Ready Brek Boy."

Scully "There was some evidence of that in the photo though Mulder. Look"

Mulder looks

Scully "But look closely, its a set up. That isn't Tindall Bells."

Mulder "Oh my goodness Scully. It is a framing. That is Stuart Beavon driving the car and he has painted himself in Ronseal"

...

Case Closed!

Not True News 29/06/08

Sunday, 29 June 08, 09:32 AM

Weymouth FC have swooped for Barcelona striker Thierry Henry in a move set to shock the footballing world.

The Catalan club met with a representative of the South Coast minnows (ok it was me, Terrasblogger) last week to thrash out the deal that will see the best player in Premiership history join the Terras initially on a one year loan deal.

I got to grab a few seconds with the great man outside the Nou Camp where he was understandably delighted at leaving Barcelona for a proper coastal resort with a proper harbour.

"I have heard St Albans Street is a bit like Los Ramblos, so I will be happy with that. I also can't wait to link up with Stuart Beavon who I have heard great things about."

The talismanic Frenchman added.

" I want to follow in the footsteps of great Terras strikers of the past like David Laws, Steve Claridge and Paul Adcock"

I think he meant Lee Phillips...

Not True News 05/06/08

Thursday, 05 June 08, 08:10 PM

It's hot up here in the godforsaken north today so I dread to think how warm it is in "Gods own town" tonight.

Lucky buggers being able to cool off with a little dip in the bay. And that leads us on to tonights news story which is another extract from the Facebook success story that is TindallBlog.

(Thanks to the correspondent who emailed me to complain that Facebook doesn't have a blog widget (whatever the hell that means) and that made the article false. Well dumbo, that is kind of the point, read the headline doofus...what does it say ? does it say "True News"..? No it doesn't, so do please keep up)

Anyway back to an extract from the aforemention (ahem) TindallBlog from early January 2008...

"It's a bit of a struggle being Weymouth manager at the moment. We can't seem to do anything other than get hammered and it is beginning to get the supporters restless.

That is a bit of a blow, I needed time to relax and think,  so as "TansRus" was shut I headed down to the Pavilion and walked along the beach.

It was pleasantly warm so I took off my Prada loafers and D&G socks before having a little paddle.

The tide was out and it was a bit of a way back up to the Esplanade. But I could see the form of recently appointed Terras Chairman Malcolm Curtis waving at me.

I waved back.

He was shouting something so I cupped my hand to my ear in that comedy style so I could hear.

"Tindall" he yelled "you're out of your depth."

This came as a surprise to me.

"No I am not" I replied "it's only up to my ankles"

Two days later he called me in his office and sacked me...

Anyone who didn't see that punchline coming needs to write some lines, whereas I need to get a better joke book!

Not True News 30/05/08

Friday, 30 May 08, 08:25 AM

After the dubious success of a recent Eastenders film shoot in Weymouth recently, Dorchester Town supremo Eddie Mitchell has been telling NTN how he wants the BBC soap to revive his clubs flagging fortunes.

"Despite problems in Weymouth with unruly kids chucking stuff at the films crews, I want them to come back to the area, to Dorchester and do some filming there."

Mitchell added.

"We were relegated and we need something to get the club back on the national agenda. We want the Jewson Timber Yards stadium to be a mecca for football fans. We did play Arsenal you know.  Appointing Alex Browne was a master stroke, because Terras fans love him and they wont pick on us anymore."

Showing some personal interest in Albert Square he concluded.

"You never know, with my surname, I might get a more permanent role as another one of Peggy's long lost sons or nephews"

You never know...you never know.

Not True News 20/05/08

Tuesday, 20 May 08, 09:21 PM

NTN has discovered that the internet and blogs and Facebook and Myspace and that is a brilliant place to find out what Terras and Ex-Terras are up to.

We have kind of cursed a number of players by being Facebook buddies with both J-Lo and Weathers leaving the Terras fold since befriending us.

Thank god that the Beaver is still with us else I would believe there was something sinister going on and they were all leaving to get away from me.

Anyhow we came across this extract from the highly impressive TindallBlog some of you may have hoped would be about a rugby player and have pictures of Zara Phillips on it... but it doesn't.

20th May 2008

Got up and went on the sun bed before getting some of the lads round to help with chores around the house.

Danny Phillips was great at cleaning the oven whilst I sent Conal Platt to the shop for some groceries.

Applied some after sun and phoned Marcus to ask him again why he was staying with Weymouth. Apparently he can learn loads of that old fella in the hotseat now.

Joel Kitamarike made us all a nice ham and pineapple sandwich before we played a game.

Pin the tail on the J-Lo always makes us laugh... and Gavin McCallum was a worthy winner.

Took a call from some arse claiming to be from TerrasBlog. He claimed that Justin Roberts had left my diary at the dry cleaners and that he was going to publish it. Bring it on TerrasBlog!

Sat in garden for a while before Jimmy Quinn phoned to question my scouting skills... Something about Sido Jombati.

Went on sun bed, watched Yeovils next top model and then went to sleep

All true I tell ya.

Not True News 18/05/08

Sunday, 18 May 08, 08:42 AM

The Not True News (NTN) team has discovered cable television plans to make Yeovil the centre of Britains cable tv focus in the next few weeks.

After the runaway success of Living TV's "America's next top model" and "Britains next top model" the company is now planning to take their catwalk search regional.

NTN was granted an exclusive interview with Livings press officer Stewart Marcus to discuss why such a dog hole would have any chance of producing a model.

"We wanted to take the concept of a model search and make it more specific to a town and Yeovil is more or less at the end of the towns alphabet so we thought we would start at the bottom and work up...so to speak"

When questioned about the town's ability to produce good looking women, fit for television, Stewart added.

"We haven't really thought about it in too much depth as yet... are you saying they are all mingers?"
