Its twenty five past seven in the morning and I already sat at my desk. If anyone tells you that the credit crunch isnt biting hard, then please shoot them on my behalf.

Anyhow on to matters Weymouth and it has to be said that it is a very quiet time in the world of the Wessex. Usually this means that a disaster is around the next bend, but I get the feeling that this time the focus is on hard work and a dedication to get it right on the field this season.
There is still plenty of debate about where our goals are going to come from, and I suppose Marcus Stewart's move to Exeter City will only increase the speculation, so it will be interesting to hear what JHMBE has to say on the matter.
Personally I would like to see a proven hitman in the squad, although you could point to Beavon (who despite a lean season in front of goal still proved a handful last season), Dubois and "Nanny" McPhee. If Anton and Couttsie can chip in from midfield then we should be ok.
In having no 'proven' 20 goal per season strikers in the squad you put pressure on the defence to keep clean sheets, thus keeping you in matches, and that is the area we have arguably weakened in selling Kyle Critchell.
Interesting stuff and plenty to keep us debating hard until the season starts proper. Right I am off for a bit of retail therapy and ordering my new shirt!
Until tomorrow.

The switch to Ole Ole and the almost biblical resurrection of TerrasBlog has taken even me by surprise.
I thought I would have long since tired of trying to find something to write about day in day out and I wonder if at some stage things will get too political at the club again causing this page to die. But so far, so good.
Anyhow the powers that be at Ole Ole have recognised that we are the only Blue Square Premier blog of any substance on their network and have rewarded us by making TerrasBlog their featured site in that competition. Hits are good and fans from all over the globe can get updates on Weymouth FC through the network.
So many thanks to those who have contributed to the blog and to those whose support and encouragement helped to get us back to the dizzy heights of quality (ahem!) that we were at 5 years ago this month when the original site came into being.
Thanks also to the people who have asked about the picture on the "Beat the Blogger" post from yesterday. Yes that is me, and yes that is the European Cup on my head. One of my lifetime ambitions was realised when I went to the Nou Camp a couple of weeks ago. And to get to hold the Champions League trophy (albeit a replica) when I was there was the icing on the cake.
On the subject of the Beat the Blogger contest, please spread the word amongst Terras fans you know (I would put it on the forum but I don't want to look like I am placing an advert) and let's get the shirt known all around this fair planet of ours.
In Terras news today, new boy Ryan Williams explained to the local media how happy he was to be appointed club captain so soon after joining the club. The weird thing is that on matchday Anton Robinson retains the armband...
My initial reaction was that after an injury plagued season with Aldershot last year, JHMBE was a bit reluctant to give him the full responsibility preferring to have Anton with the armband on a match day.
I am now a bit more chilled about the whole thing and have to say that it could be a good idea.
When he first arrived at the end of the season before last I thought Robinson was one of the worst players to pull on the shirt... and that includes some of our loan signings. He appeared to make Richard Logan look like a hard working player!
But he won me over last season and could be a case of a players game improving with the armband. Williams on the other hand may have been injured last season but was at a club who won the league, so he will know a bit about keeping an even keel.
Ciao for now!
