After the sparkling entertainment of Friday nights draw with Brizzle, I am left to stare back into the void that is the footballing off season. down to the pre-Olympic bare bones of sport.
My favourite event of the summer, the Tour de France ended yesterday so I am glum. The Twenty20 cricket finished over the weekend. Golf isn't a proper sport and in terms of pre-season friendlies, did anyone see that one sided Arsenal match tonight?
Team CSC Control the 2006 Tour of Britain in Westminster
Roll on the Bejing festival of sport, the start of the football season and the Rugby League world cup. Oh yes, this autumn is going to be awesome!
Why am I rambling on about sport in general I hear you ask? Well because it is fairly quiet in Weymouth FC land (yet again).
So much so that I am thumbing through some of my cd's and playing them. Does anyone remember "The Pink Hedghog Incident" ? It was a mid 90's collection of tracks on Portlands Hedgehog records label. It is quite good. Although the best of Guns'N'Roses is on at the moment. Taking me way back to my school days!
Please god let something interesting happen in the next few day... (The best of A-ha is on now)

The Terras came back from 2-0 down to record a 3-3 draw with Championship side Bristol City at the Wessex Stadium last night.
The should have been Premiership vistors were ahead before Kevin Sandwith pulled one back. Kevin Betsy restored City's advantage before a two goal salvo on the half hour from Stuart Beavon ensured a share of the spoils for Weymouth.
My spy at the match informed me that we looked great going forward but shaky at the back. With the likes of Lee Trundle in the Bristol team though that is not unexpected. We wont be facing forwards of that quality week in week out in the BSP this season!
So a positive end to the week, which was made better with manager John Hollins quashing rumours that the club were looking to cash in on player of the season Scott Doe. Internet rumours linking him with big spending Stevenage Borough.

Thanks to the loyal readers of TerrasBlog who have contacted me with messages of support after yesterdays blog. I didn't mean for it to be so downbeat, but thanks for the concern and good wishes. It is much appreciated.
Tonight sees the Terras looking for a second pre-season win when Bristol City visit the Wessex Stadium. I must say I don't like Gary Johnson very much. He managed that shabby lot who play in green and I am sorry, but I don't forgive that easily.
It can't be argued that he is a brilliant manager though. He did a reasonable job at Cambridge, no idea what he did with Latvia, but her certainly dragged the scummers up by their boot laces.
His brother on the other hand was a crap manager.
Once he had taken the Glover lovers as far as he could he was right to move to a bigger club and grudgingly I have to respect the fact that they probably deserve to be playing Premiership football this season.
But they are not and they will have to get over it and show that last season was no fluke in reaching the play-offs. Good luck with that.
Most of the pre-match talk has been about Stephen Henderson, the goalkeeper who ended the season learning his trade with us. JHMBE has been desperately keen to get him back but injury has scuppered that move.
Johnson has rightly said that he doesn't want to loan players at the moment, rather they fight for a first team jersey. But if I am honest I can see Henderson returning and playing a part in our season.
Good luck to the Terras tonight.

A shocking week. After now both of us being ill, we have lost one of our family pets today so it is a sombre TerrasBlog towers.
A bit to catch up on with the 2-3 defeat to Southampton the other night. I suppose a lot can be said for pre-season friendlies not being the be all and end all and we certainly haven't had great seasons on the back of result filled July's.
The internet is full of rumours tonight that Scott Doe could have been sold to Stevenage Borough. I hope its not true as he has been one of the few shining lights in recent times.
Having said that £25k is good money and JHMBE certainly knows what he is doing.
On to tomorrow night and we will be beating Bristol City 6-0... hopefully, I need some cheering up right now.
