Sir Alex Ferguson claims he will have no worries about starting Jonny Evans and Wes Brown in central defence against Chelsea on Sunday, with Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic struggling to be fit for the clash.
Sir Alex has been considering giving Jonny an extended run in the team for some time and he was impressed with his performance alongside Brown at the weekend.
"A lot has been made about Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic being out, but when you have the back-up of Jonny Evans and Wes Brown, it can't be bad."
"If you take Ferdinand and Vidic out then there aren't many partnerships in the Premier League better than Brown and Evans."
"We sent Vidic to a specialist last week and hopefully he's going to be all right for Chelsea. Rio is having treatment and Ryan Giggs, too. Neither will make Tuesday and we have a fight on our hands to have them ready for Chelsea on Sunday."
Meanwhile, Frank Lampard believes Chelsea's best may be yet to come.
"I don't think anyone will need to work hard to get up for the United game."
"We're in good form, very good form. We're playing well as a unit but there's room for improvement."
"Any moment of slacking, either on the training ground or in our preparations, and that form will quickly go. So we'll keep trying to improve and hopefully we can get even better."
