Everyone is saying it, I have to agree. La Liga was down this season. The top tier teams. Not to take anything away from Real Madrid, they did deserve to win the title again this year. If Barcalona or Sevilla was as good this season as they were last year, Real Madrid would not have won. Who knows, maybe Real Madrid would have played better. I picked Barcalona to win, followed by Sevilla and then Real Madrid. Barcalona was just a roller coaster team this year. I felt they had the most talent but did not displayed it on the pitch. Sevilla was dissapointing to. Had some obsticals this season. Player tragically died. Lost their Coach-Manager. I thought their new Coach was a good addition. He had some fire and was fun to watch on the side line. At least Sevilla made it to the UEFA Cup. Almost Champions but there is next year. Zaragoza which went from UEFA Cup to regulated. Ouch! They really tumbled hard. Last place Levante. When I saw them play againts Barcalona. They looked tired and out of shape. It was tough to see. It appears there were off the field problems too. The community of Valencia must be concerned about this ball club. Hopefully they can rebound but it will take some time. Valencia. Good grief. Went from OK to bad. Finished the late part of the season strong after their coach left the club. Good move. Good coach but was not right for Valencia. Almeria was a suprise. Came from the Second division and finished 8th. Hopefully they can keep it up next season. Villareal was a pleasant suprise. I did not pick them that high. I thought they would be middle of the pack. I listened to a podcast today, it appears they are a roller coaster club. Good one year not so good next year. Athletic Bilbao was another suprise. Almost regulated last year but ended in the middle. They started poorly, second half Athletic Bilboa went strong did sputter the final games. The Island Club of Real Mallorca almost made it to the UEFA Cup. Oh well.
We can look forward to Numancia, Malaga and Sporting Gijon coming up. For a while there I was afraid that Gimnastic was going to go down again. They were regulated from 1st Division to second. Gimnastic was near the bottom when I checked last. In the regulation zone but Gimnastic escaped. That would have been tough to swallow for their fans. Real Sociedad almost made it back to 1st Division but just got squeeked out. Maybe next year.
Congratulations to Real Madrid. You deserved it.
I can not wait until next season. La Liga is my favorite league.

I have been watching La Liga through out this season. Still my favorite league. La Liga is down compaired to previous years. First place Real Madrid is not really a power house. While they are winning, they loose or draw againts poor teams. Need to be consistant and win the games you are suppose to win. February, Real Madrid lost to Betis who is not a very good team. In January, Real Madrid was tied until the last moment with Levante. Levante is in last place. I am pretty confident at this point Levante will move down.
Sevilla FC has been up and down. Getting better but they had their challenges.
Barcelona. you do not know what team will show. I felt coming into the season they were the most talented and I picked them to win. They are currently tied for second but they have not looked pretty. They are not playing up to their level.
Valencia: They have been going down and down. Excpet the Copa Del Rey. They could win Copa del Rey but could be in the lower half of the La Liga Standings. They will need to make more changes during the off season.
Looking forward to see how this season will end up. I love the leage and will miss them in the off season.

I was watching the match between Getafe vs. Sevilla FC. During the match, I saw a player go down without contact. After a few minutes as medical staff where attending, he walked off the field with assistance. I was very sadden to learn later he had suffered a heart attack and was at the time in critical condition. Yesterday I saw on the news, he had passed away. Very sad. My thoughts and prayers are for those who have been effected. He died doing something he loved, playing Futbol-Soccer. He is probably in heaven playing soccer with the angels.
Brighter note: Sevilla FC came on strong in the second half. Getafe ended up with two red cards which put them in a real disadvantage. Hopefully Sevilla will play for their team mate who had passed away. In Puerta's memory. He will be smiling from the heavens watching his team.
I hope Spain resolves the Television dispute so we can watch all the games that was scheduled over here. Two big games Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid and Barcelona vs. Athletic Bilbao was blacked out world wide. I was really looking forward to opening week in La Liga. I realized that La Liga is my favorite league. Please resolve the differences. We want La Liga.

I am counting the days down until August 25 when La Liga begins. I think it will be a very intersting season with new players on Real Madrid, Barcelona added some more fire power and so on. With Real Madrid loosing some players (but added new players) new Manager, I think Barcelona at this point has the best chance of winning the 2007-08 La Liga Season. Sevilla FC and Valencia will be tough as well. Hopefully they will compete for the title as well.
It will be a very exciting season. I hope it goes right down to the wire again this season.

Yikes, I did forget to mention Barcelona as well. I really enjoy watching them over the years as well. I became a fan of Sevilla when I saw them on Gol TV playing againts Barcelona. Sevilla fans were really chanting through the whole game which was music to my ears. I am sure many other teams have some great energy as well. Here in the US, we get great exposure to Real Madrid, Becelona and sometimes Sevilla. but very little of the other teams except when Real Madrid, Barcelona or Sevilla plays againts them.
I have also become a great fan of Bundesliga as well. I enjoyed watching Schaulke 04 and Stuttgart this past season.

I can not wait until the La Liga, Bundesliga and various leagues in Latin America Begins.
I love the large clubs like Real Madrid, Sevilla to the small clubs like Puntarenas FC from Costa Rica. I mostly follow Puntarenas FC on line since we are unable to see Costa Rican Soccer. I enjoy the small clubs because it has a small hometown feel. Their fans are real and the players play for the love of the game.
