A picture speaks a thousand words...and then some

No Eboue, no Adebayor, no Van Persie, no Kolo no explanation, yep, the first photos from pre-season where released yesterday and they pose quite a few questions.  Cesc and Theo were absent from them also but they came with an explanation, and, to be fair, there were a few others missing from the shots which you can see here. But, given all the speculation around the 25, Eboue and to a lesser degree Kolo and VP, I smell something fishy (and it ain't Butternuts mouth).

So who was there? Rosicky, and Eduardo. Wooohoooo. Arshavin hasn't buggered off to Barcelona, despite his ex-agents urgings. Unfortunately, so was Butternut as nobody has buried him alive yet, shame, and here's me thinking that might have been what RAWD had been up to all this time. Senderos, Gallas, Djourou, Nasri, Wilshere, Ramsey, and Vermaelen can be seen too along with some kids including Coquelin who I hope gets some more first team play time in the coming season.

It's hard to draw any concrete conclusions from the photos, the list of absentees longer than attendees, but I'm just glad to see Rosicky and Eduardo.

Look, he even has actual legs!

Now, it's time to address this whole Eboue/Melo thing if I can stop laughing long enough. Fiorentina would see Eboue as being a 'valid swap' for Melo? Seriously? I know it's probably only a rumour and SkySports have probably left out the words 'plus £20m' but come on, how can that be a fair swap? My Man U supporting mate said he would swap us Nani for Fabregas, same thing he said, and he isn't far off the mark. Do you think we could get United to take Senderos for Rooney? Or perhaps even just take Butternut back?

Did I mention yesterday that Arshavin came second in our player of the season poll? I think I did, but I'm too lazy to go check. That means that VP must have won player of the season, there are no other options. Too many injuries.

Arseblog got an exclusive interview with Ivan The Gazidis which makes for interetsing reading, but in the end, it's nothing we wouldn't expect him to say.  The stand out statement for me was when he referenced Arsene bulidng a world-class team that can win things for the next five years. Is that a hint that Arsene shall be signing a new contract? As with most things Arsenal, we can but wonder.

And that's it, nothing else to report.

Til tomorrow...

I didn't even notice what players were missing besides the obvious ones. :\

Well, RvP is on vacation until the 13th, *and* he's signed a new long term contract. ;)
