Well, well, well, what went on yesterday? A match, a return, and a departure. It was quite a day.
Let's get the departure out of the way so we can move on permanently and Adebayor has officially left and is now Manchester City's
problem player. For the doubters there was even a picture of him looking strange in Man City's kit, followed by an interview in which he talks in that typical Adebayor way. I.e. he made no sense whatsoever.
Some fans are sad to see him go, some papers are reporting that Arsene Wenger blames the fans for Adebayor leaving, but I say bollocks to that (and if you listen to the interview he
doesn't even come close to blaming the fans). If Wenger got rid of players just because the fans wanted him to, Eboue and Bendtner would have went at Chrsitmas. The reason Adebayor went was the same reason that he stayed last summer - money. Plain and
simple. Don't forget, this is the man who said that at the age of 25 had to think about his retirement. This is the man who held the club to ransom last summer, and then, when he didn't get the
move or amount of money he thought he deserved, huffed for an entire season. The Arsenal fans may have made it difficult for Adebayor, but that was only because of his attitude. If he had bothered to put in a shift when he played, the fans would have tolerated his ridiculous wage demands.
Hell, we might have even thought he was worth it. But he didn't. And we didn't. And now he's gone. So let's move on and leave Mark Hughes alone with his delusions in which he thinks he's been a
fan of Adebayor throughout his whole career. What a wab. O, and
thanks for the £25million - much appreciated.
We had a 'match' yesterday as I'm sure you all already know. To say that it was slightly dull would be like saying acid slightly burns. The one and only important thing was the return of Rosicky. He was simply brilliant, covering every blade, jumping into crunching tackles and walking away laughing. He was so far from fragile that you can't help but wonder if Arsenal have spent the past 18 months turning him into a Wolverine type player with metal grafted to his bones. In short, he looked like he hadn't been away.
Vermaelen was the only player to get 90 minutes and he just looks scary, in that 'i'm gonna smash you up' kinda centre-half way. How great is that to have? He's quick too, can head a ball, and as for his height, he looks taller than Gallas and only an inch smaller than Djourou. No problems there.
It finished 2-2, but the result isn't important. We only had a handful of first team players, and they only played the first half. The stand out player of the second half was Nacer Barazite who scored an absolute beauty of a goal (youtube it if you get a chance) and tried really hard to stake a place. He'll need an extra long stake as he has to get past Nasri, Arshavin, Walcott, and Rosicky, but if he's willing to work that hard, he should have no problem making the
bench at least this season for some games. If we don't loan him out again that is.
With regards to Eduardo, it is believed that he will resume full-training on Monday, though there is no word as to why he had stopped full-training in the first place. I'm getting concerned about Eduardo and I don't want to be. I was fully focused on Eddie taking the 25's place as our main striker, but now I'm just not quite sure if he's going to be reliable enough. Perhaps we'd best buy another striker to 'be on the safe side.' Wenger is talking as if he is going to be available for the season so fingers, toes and legs crossed.
Arsene has also been speaking about how he is in no hurry
to buy. Shocker. One has to hope that we sign Chamakh, if for no other reason that Bordeaux want Butternut as part of any deal.
Away from Arsenal and does anyone else think it is hilarious that Chelsea of all clubs are going to report Man City over their pursuit of John Terry? It's not like Chelsea have behaved in exactly the same way since Abramovich took over or anything!. It's only the fact that recession emptied out Roman's bank account faster than a shotgun wedding, or they'd still be doing it. They'll get no sympathy from anyone outside Chelsea, and they will probably get a lot of 'who gives a fuck' from anyone who had Chelsea tear players away from their club with the lure of money, money, money. It's called Karma Chelsea - suck it up.
And that's your lot for today...I'm away for some coffee

There's no prize, just the satisfaction you get with being a witty b*stard. Was going to do one myself, but it almost seemed to easy...

Jessica wondered if Adebayor was a eco-warrier....until she realised that him not running was saving the wrong type of energy.
