Beckham and the Galaxy

Saturday, 07 July 07, 12:58 AM · Comments(5)

I know this has been real big in the news lately, but what does everybody think about Beckham coming to the M.L.S. and playing in L.A. Also, can he save the Galaxy from a horrible season

I've always been a Becks fan, so I'm psyched. The only thing I don't like is that it's going to be hell to get tickets to matches. The stands are going to be filled with groupies. Lol! :D Seriously
though, I welcome him. I know he's not Superbeckham as Alexi Lalas and Co. have made him out to seem, but I think he'll generate ticket sales and more attention for our league. And, he gets to live
in L.A. (major plus), Victoria gets to shop shop shop and he gets a big fat paycheck. Win win situation!

He is here in the US just to put people in the stands and ger people following the sport -- which is good. For most Americans, I dont think they realize L.A. had a soccer team. Only good for the
sport in the US will come of it. Me personally, I think he should be playing on the Englad National Team

Beckham is here to get attention to the sport. Is it going to work? I think not. Soccer is just like baseball to americans. They can watch but Basketball and Football will always take over. Beckham
does not have talent except for the great touch he has. He will bring more fans, but the level played will not improve.

I kind of agree with Mijito. Beckham is coming to try to put some spotlights on soccer. It will attract the media for some time, if the marketing team is smart they will invite some movie star, some
celebrities to attend the games, get some papparazzi there and send A LOT of press releases, so for some time it will be on the news but after some time it will fade and I bet Victoria Beckham and
the return of the Spice Girls will get more attention than soccer.
