So this is something that has been discussed over and over again, but it is something that I feel strongly about so I will discuss it anyway. Liverpool fans today are so proud of their record in Europe and in love with Benitez, have complete faith in the man because of his success in the Champions League. But I find his strategy of falling out of the title race in England early on in the season and getting knocked out of the FA cup to be extremely pathetic and annoying. Liverpool have a fantastic squad and it would be wonderful to see them back in action in the Premier League. I cannot believe that they are okay with settling for 3rd/4th place in the premier league, for God's sakes put a fight. I am a United fan and hate Liverpool, and to be honest I enjoy the fact that they have been so pathetic in England, however, it is truly a pity because they could do so much better. And to all liverpool fans out there who can't stop bragging about their record in Europe, #1 it is a knock out competition therefore luck plays a part in how well you do, and #2 for the most part it is because Benitez has developed this new strategy where every season he allows his squad to give up on all competitions and concentrate solely on the Champions League. Every season by the end of winter, we find Liverpool playing for just one piece of silverware. If United, Arsenal and Chelsea were to do the same, focus all their energy and attention on just one competition, I am sure their records in Europe would be the same if not better than that of Liverpool. So it really isn't something to be proud of. Something needs to be done, because I am sick of seeing this every season. Liverpool is capable of fighting on all three fronts like the other big clubs. It truly is a pity that they don't. On a side note, it looks like Crouch will be leaving Liverpool. Again, Liverpool are putting all their eggs in one basket, and this time its Fernando Torres. Benitez should keep his players happier, it is sad to see Crouch (who I believe is a pretty decent footballer) leave. He needs to have more faith in his squad.
