Bright future for Danny

Monday, 05 January 09, 09:48 PM · Comments(0)

Sir Alex Ferguson feels Danny Welbeck has all the attributes needed to become a top striker.

The United boss saw the 19-year-old head home his second goal of the season in the 3-0 FA Cup victory over Southampton on Sunday.

Welbeck impressed throughout his 60-minute run-out on the South coast and Sir Alex is predicting a bright future for the Manchester-born forward.

"Danny did a good job for us and you can see the ability he's got," said the boss in an interview with MUTV.

"He's still growing and can get a bit weak at some moments during games, but overall we're very pleased with him.

"It was good for him to experience playing away from home because it's always more difficult," added Sir Alex. "He showed a good temperament to play.

"He's got a good personality, he always enjoys playing. The potential is definitely there."
