Fantasy: Mexico is on par with the big S. American teams. Reality: Mexico has no technique and is a one man show called Nery. It's the 30th min second half and I have seen a Mexican team with no organization, and very little impact. Los Albiceleste ran a clinic today, and the most Mexico can take from it is a lesson on how good futbol Rio platense futbol is played. Maybe this will come in handy against Uruguay, that is for a different day. But today Mexico failed to live up to the hype it wasn't even a competition it was a flat out ass whooping. Messi was brilliant and at times he made the Mexican defenders look silly. Mexico had some chances mainly from Nery, The Uruguayan trained Mexican national with deep Uruguayan ties(blood and soccer), came close but could not quite sneek the ball under the cross bar. Gardado had two clear chances but (gasp) he missed. Mexico failed to take any form, they seemed more like chase the man with the ball team, than a real futbol squad. Despite a ref with some obvious bias,( ridiculous messi yellow card, suspect fouls called) the Mexican's were downed. Fantasy my friends has turned into an ugly reality for the Mexican squad. Opinions unsupported by facts have been a staple of blog chatter. "This team is good just cuz I say" is b.s., and the rise of Mexican soccer in Latin America is too. So let it be settled Mexico is no where near par with the South American giants. Maybe next time TRi. Now it's a spot for third, Uruguay will have a tough time a against a seething Mexican team coming off this loss. But los Charruas also have something to prove, should be a good game.
P.S. Unvision coverage is super biased and should be renamed mexico tv. Terrible announcing.
