Celtic Fans!!! The Lord Of The Wing is now LIVE on OleOle

Thursday, 29 May 08, 03:47 PM

Hello Football Fans,

Are you a Celtic fan? Are you eager to know everything that is happening in the Scottish Premier League? Do you proudly wear yer Green and White shirt?

So OleOle is proud to bring to you great news! The famous Lord Of The Wing blog has just joined our team.

The blog that started two seasons ago by one of Celtic FC's most avid fan became famous for its humour, consistency and loyalty to the club's colours. The LOTW made sure to warn its readers of its content with the following text "There may be swearing, there be remarks that the PC among you may find offensive. Apologies for this but you can f*ck off and read the BBC..kapeech?
In the vain attempt to be humorous, sarcastic and inject satire we may use quotes that are completely fabricated, rumors that are completely made up and make claims that are false."

Such controversy and passion caught the attention of OleOle and we felt that the LOTW would be a great signing for our team.

The blog can be read here: THE LORD OF THE WING

OleOle welcomes The Lord Of The Wing and wishes that lots of controversy, smacktalk as well as lots of celebrations can be read and discussed on the blog.

Let the Green and White fun begin!

Tuesday, 27 May 08, 06:39 AM

Hello Footie Fans,

We are very excited and happy with all the activity we've seen from all of you here at the new OleOle platform.

New bloggers, new users, players and team profiles being edited by you and lots of novelties...

One of the newest features we added to OleOle is the Feed Widget. It allows you to keep track of what your friends are doing. And you can easily toggle between viewing your activities, which are visible to your visitors, and your friends'activities - only you can see that.

But remember, at OleOle your profile really belongs to YOU. You can, at any moment, hide the Widgets or move the tables around to better suit your style.

...And keep playing

~Cheers~

Thursday, 15 May 08, 05:36 PM

Hello everyone,

OleOle's new integrated blogging system gives everyone the opportunity to write and comment about their favourite team or become a reporter and commentator for the sport you love. And you can choose to do it in any of the 10 languages available on the platform.

You can also ADD A FAVOURITE blog to your home so you can read the latest post without searching for it. It's also good if you're in a heated debate and you want to make sure you make your point as soon as you notice someone posts a comment.

Adding a Favourite Blog is very easy. If you are already reading a certain blog that you like very much and want to add it to your homepage all you have to do is click on the ADD TO FAVOURITE orange button located on the right top side of that blog page.

But if you prefer you can also browse for blogs from your homepage and Search by Topic to find the blog that you want to ADD AS FAVOURITE.

And why not create your own blog too?

Go ahead and defend the colours of your passion!

Your Favourite Teams and Players On Your Home Page

Thursday, 08 May 08, 06:28 PM

Hello footie fans,

We hope you are having a fun time experiencing the new OleOle platform.

One of the improvements we made thinking of the most fanatical supporters was the possibility of having your favourite teams and players right on your home page.

And it's as easy as pie to do it.

Let's see how a fan could add his team's WIDGET to his page.

1) Click on the Clubs link using the BROWSE & FIND on the menu.

2) Once there, SEARCH for you favourite club (if you don't see its crest on the right side of the page) by typing in a few letters, select, then click Go!

3) When you get to your favourite team page just click on the big orange button to ADD AS FAVORITE. And you're done!

You can now go back to your homepage and you will see your Favourite Team WIDGET there for you. The WIDGET does not only have your team crest but also updated info about your team last and next fixtures, the position on the table and you will also be able to see videos, photos, throw-ins and forums related to your team.

The same works for your favourite players. Once you go to their page and click on the ADD AS FAVORITE button that player added to your Favourite Player WIDGET on your home page.

But let's suppose a certain player betrays the honour of your club and sign with your biggest rival. If you want to delete him from your favourites you can do it from your page by clicking on the X button on the Favourite Player WIDGET.

And remember, you choose what you want others to see on your page and how you want the page to look.

Move the columns and tables around to give your home page a unique and customised look!

~Cheers~

The importance of the TOPICS

Monday, 05 May 08, 08:38 PM

Hello Football Fanatics!

I hope you are enjoying the new OleOle. You are now part of the next generation of football platform on the internet.

There are a lot of new features and we'll explain all of them over the next few weeks - today, its TOPICS

Now when you submit any CONTENT to OleOle - blog posts, throw-ins, photos, videos, etc - you will be asked to select TOPICS (not tags) for that specific content.

But, what is the difference between TOPICS and tags?

A tag is user generated. It doesn't build a structure or help others find information because it varies according to individual preferences.

TOPICS are the core of the new OleOle platform. The TOPICS represent every LEAGUE, CLUB, NATIONAL TEAM or PLAYER in the world. And remember, on the new OleOle platform we have more than 5,500 teams and more than 55,000 players in 300 leagues and all of that in 10 languages! That's a lot to keep track of.

When you submit any content to the site (blog posts, videos, photos, throw-ins, etc) you will be asked to select between one and 10 TOPICS that will link your content to other areas of the site.

For example:

If you add a photo of Ronaldinho you can add topics like: Ronaldinho - Barcelona - La Liga - Brazil

Then if you visit Ronaldinho's player section you will see that the picture you uploaded automatically appears in the photo session of the page. TOPICS put it there!

You can also SEARCH BY TOPICS to find all Ronaldinho's related content.

From OleOle's home page choose the content you want to search for from the CHANNELS tab.

You see then a box on your left with the most POPULAR TOPICS or you can type the desired TOPIC and you'll get the results related to that term.

That's the power in choosing the right TOPICS.

If you think there is a TOPIC that is still not on our database, Create a New Topic. This won't go into the site immediately, it will be sent to us as a suggestion and our football geniuses will evaluate it to see if that word can be transformed into a new TOPIC.

Stay tuned for more!

~Cheers~
