Wisla Krakow won't let any players to play in Polish national team

Tuesday, 04 March 08, 09:36 PM

Sports Director of Wisla Krakow team, Jacek Bednarz, has refused to let any of his players appear in a match between Polish national team and foreign football stars from the Polish league to be held on 11th of March.

Leo Beenhakker wants six Wisla players (Pawel Brozek, Dariusz Dudka, Adam Kokoszka, Wojciech Lobodzinski, Radoslaw Matusiak and Marek Zienczuk) in the line-up for Polish national team and two more (Mauro Cantoro and Cleber) for the foreign team.
"We won't let any of our players play in that match."
Jacek Bednarz has told Polska daily. He has explained that his club is in the middle of the league season. The next round is on Sunday and Wisla Krakow is concerned that the players will not have enough time to be ready for announced match (which is not in official FIFA schedule). They are also concerned that two next matches in Orange Ekstraklasa (against GKS Belchatow and away against Lech Poznan) may be crucial for gaining championship by Wisla Krakow.
Not letting Wisla players to play in this match is a bit risky - Leo Beenhakker will not have a chance to see their currently form and usefullness for the national team. Of course, I understand that Wisla is concerned about getting championship in Polish league, but on the other hand they're the strongest Polish team at the moment, they have the best players, so it's no wonder that Leo Beenhakker wants to see many of them.
This is the situation in which both sides are right.
