Liverpool’s woes seem to be getting worse with every game they play. Last night’s Champions league match against Fiorentina only compounded Rafael Benitez’s problems.

Liverpool lost 2-1 at home to a Fiorentina side that has really impressed this season. The Merseyside outfit who were already bundled out of the lucrative tournament, will now play in the
Europa league.

Liverpool have not won the Premiership trophy in almost two decades. That to me is a pretty long time! There was some hope that perhaps when Rafa Benitez took over, their long trophy drought
would be over. To everyone’s amazement, he delivered even more than was expected of him. Read more... (303 words, 3 images,

In the men’s list the nominees are Andreas Iniesta, Kaka, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Xavi while the women’s list has Cristiane (Brazil), Inka Grings (Germany), Brigit Prinz (Germany), Kelly Smith (England) and Marta (Brazil)

Lionel Messi will be looking to end the year on a high by wining this award. Clinching the European player of the year award, was a huge moment for this young sensational
forward. December 21st will yet again be aonther day when the whole football world eagerly awaits to see who will be crowned the best player of the year 2009. Read more...

All Portsmouth wants for X-mas is a briefcase full of money and no questions asked. It is just like all the
Coen brothers movies (Fargo, No Country for Old Men, the Big Lebowski) where a person desperate for money discovers a bag full of stacked one hundred dollar bills in a place nobody would
expect. Portsmouth would salivate at this opportunity being that they can’t deliver paychecks on time to their roster and staff. Read more...

Group B contains Argentina, Nigeria, Greece and South Korea, in what could be a mini group of death. Argentina
were poor in qualifying, and Greece and South Korea are always hard to break down. At the moment I see Argentina and Nigeria moving onto the knockout rounds.

Group A contains host nation South Africa, Mexico, Uruguay and France. South Africa is a very weak #1 seed at at the
moment, France and Mexico must be favored to move on.

Qualifying as hosts has its obvious advantages – giving straight passage without having to kick a ball in anger. However, the lack of a competitive edge is the drawback and South Africa will
need to compensate for this by preparing thoroughly for the tournament on home soil. As with previous sporting events in the country, they are sure to have a passionate support backing them.

LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal are two of America’s most beloved basketball stars. They have both seemingly permeated our culture with their huge personalities and enormous
athletic talent. Although King James has yet to hoist any significant hardware, Shaq has won several titles. Both have proven themselves to be at the top of their chosen profession though. But,
what if instead of b-ball, they had chosen soccer, a game with a different net? Read more... (427 words, 5 images, estimated 1:42 mins reading time)

Tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams are amazing athletes who have succeeded in a sport usually reserved for the elite. They have overcome huge obstacles to establish themselves

Back when I was a strapping young lad still becoming a man, there was a certain cable channel (Showtime) that aired this ridiculous show called Red Shoe Diaries. The show
definitely contained “Strong Sexual Content” and “Nudity”, which made it all the more appealing to its star, David Duchovny. Now, this post (and the series that will follow it) isn’t
really about that show. But, in a way, that show and this series will be similar. What the hell am I talking about?
