The 10 Best EPL Teams Ever: Who’s #10?

Tuesday, 13 January 09, 08:34 AM · Comments(0)

The 1993/1994 Manchester United squad was an impressive bunch. They were the first Premier League team to win a league/FA cup double (though it had been done several times prior to the formation of the Prem). They didn’t just win the Prem either, they dominated and ended the season 8 points clear of Blackburn.

Eric Cantona won the Player of the Year Award for his 25 goals. He was often assisted by Ryan Giggs, Paul Ince and Lee Sharpe. New signing Roy Keane controlled the mid and veterans Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce and Brian McClair showed they still had some good play left in them.

The team was an offensive juggernaut, scoring 80 goals in league play. Man U didn’t just win the FA Cup Final either, they dismantled Chelsea 4-0. At the conclusion of the season, Sir Alex Ferguson deservingly won the first ever Manager of the Year Award.

This team is at #10 instead of higher up because they had a truly dismal Champion’s League season, exiting in the second round to a far less talented Turkish side. But despite their slip-up against Europe’s top competition, they dominated every domestic team around, and that’s why they’re #10 on this list.
