Intro from Adam: many of you have complained about the lack of updates on the blog and since I'm still busy with moving to Madrid, I thought I'd ask one of my blog readers and fellow
blogger, Deepak Israni who runs Paseo de la Castellana, to give you a brief update on what's going on at the Bernabeu.

Looking forward to seeing Ronaldo play live at the Bernabeu
So we've recently signed Di Mara, Pedro Leon and the team started training (and by the way, the fixture list is out) I'm honestly excited for a lot reasons (I'll share one of them below - personal update), but for now let my give you my two cents on what's been going on.
Di Maria
If you've been following this blog for a while, you'd know I prefer David Silva over Di Maria for...

Well, guess what? I'm back! And the site has been re-designed and new features have been added!
The last couple of weeks have been hectic for me, and I'll hopefully be able to talk about the stuff I've been working on in the near future, but in the meantime it feels great to be back. I love this blog and it has been part of my life and who I am.
I just would like to apologize to all of you for not devoting more time to the blog and I promise this is going to change very soon.
To kick things off again, here are a few questions some of you sent to me on Facebook & Twitter with my answers. I'd love to...

Forget Di Maria and Gerrard, Maicon is the one to sign first.
I haven't blogged in a while because I've been working elsewhere (World Cup related) as well as been preparing for my move back to Europe and things have been hectic.
I just thought I'd give you my two cents on the transfer rumors around Gerrard and Maicon, and let me start with the English first.
Spanish media is convinced that Gerrard is willing to move in case Real Madrid agrees to the price Liverpool has demanded (reportedly €30). We all know that Perez has no problem with paying that If he really wants the player. Mourinho wants him too so If Gerrard is really willing to leave, I wouldn't be surprised If we signed him.
However, I think he is not needed at all simply because we don't have a place for him. We already have two...

Intro from Adam: this article was written by Najam Arfeen a long-time RealmadridTalker. The opinions expressed in the article are his and not mine.
Is Steven Gerrard Really Needed at Real Madrid?
In my humble opinion, the answer is no.
Two questions come to my mind whenever I hear Real Madrid are coveting a player; “how talented is the individual?” and “where will he fit in?”.
The answer to the first question is a no-brainer as few would argue against Stevie Gerrard’s undoubted quality and rightful claim as one of the best midfielders in the world of football. The second question, however, is the one that baffles me.
There’s no doubt that with Jose Mourinho at the helm, the 4-3-3 formation will be...

I haven't blogged in a while due to being busy elsewhere covering the World Cup.
I saw Higuaìn with Argentina yesterday and I was delighted that he was in the starting lineup because there is a lot of competition on the team. Higuaìn is in direct competition with Diego Milito and from what I saw yesterday it seems that Maradona is not settled yet on who should be the "hitman" so yesterday's game was a chance for Gonzalo to prove he deserves to start.
Argentina played quite well throughout the first and second halves. Nigeria weren't really easy to beat as they were pretty solid and their goalkeeper was spectacular.
I think 1-0 isn't an accurate score. We should've seen more goals. Messi was denied a lot of times and ...

Another edition of the new Real Madrid Q&A series on RealmadridTalk. Readers basically ask me questions and I answer them all in one post and open the discussion for everyone. A lot of people send me questions on Twitter and Facebook, but I thought instead of answering them privately and only on these respective sites, I'd instead answer them on the blog.
If you have a question, please do send it to rajab (@) oleole.com, on Twitter and Facebook or just leave it in the comment section and I'll answer it in next week's...

There is just one day left before the club starts selling the new home and away shirts. For some reason, pictures of the shirts aren't available on the official store so I don't understand how they expect people to pre-order the shirts before seeing them.
Anyway, one of my twitter followers sent me a link to quality photos of both of the Real Madrid Home & Away shirts for the new season (thanks Patrick!)
I honestly prefer the old shirt (2009/10) because they had this Bernabeu logo and that yellow line. I don't like the blue color they added to the new shirt, but maybe when I get used to...

Mourinho The Nomad Coach
I think many of you missed the point I was trying to make the other day. I wasn't against hiring Mourinho, I was primarily against hiring a new coach, because having followed Real for the last seven or eight years, I'm totally convinced that sacking the coach every season is what is preventing us from becoming the best in Europe again.
If you think that Mourinho is the best coach we've ever hired, you are wrong. We signed Fabio Capello twice and we sacked him twice even though he gave us two titles. We did the same with Del Bosque and many other coaches. We never showed faith in our coaches and they were always the first to blame.
