Letting this lad go will be Calderon's stupidest decision ever!
Morning gang,
I have got some not that good news. Well, as we have heard many times, Chelsea are interested in Robinho. The English club has made their interest public and stated on their official website that they have officially contacted Real Madrid over our wonderkid, Robinho.
Further to media reports (they are talking about me here), Chelsea Football Club can confirm we have made an offer to Real Madrid today (Thursday, August 7) for the transfer of Robinho.
The Guardian says that Chelsea are offering £19.75m for Robinho, a sum I believe can't buy Robinho's shoes, well not exactly, but I think he deserves more If not from Chelsea then from Real who have humiliated him this season.
While I feel very upset of hearing whats going on with Robinho and with the offers he is getting, but I can understand why he is frustrated. Real treated him unfairly, trying to include him in Ronaldo's deal while he was and still in Ronaldo's status and more, and refusing to improve his contract and not throwing him more bucks while Calderon was spending money here and there on Academies and stuff in Africa, America, Asia, on the Moon, Mars ....etc Don't misunderstand me here, I think it is good to develop facilities and help other people in poor countries, but when you have a kick ass player like Robinho and you don't want to give him another one or two millions then thats bad.
If you still remember, last season, Robinho was sidelined. Real were going through a tough period with Barcelona closing the gap and then the match against Recreative Hulva came, Robinho was benched and the team sucked in the first half. In the second half, Schuster was nuts and didn't send Robinho in, but when things got worse, he sent him in and guess what? He scored two goals If I'm not mistaken to make 3-2 for Real Madrid. This is just an example of how crucial a player like Robinho is.
Now my hope is that one of his teammates, someone who could be his best pal, would convince him to stay. As far as I know, he gets along very well with Marcelo. Maybe Rau'l too or Cannavaro? I don't know, but after Chelsea's official announcement I believe that one of these good dudes will discuss the whole thing with Robinho and he will hopefully change his mind.
Another thing that is still keeping me positive is his family. If they have take on things, they may suggest staying in Madrid, because as everyone knows, South Americans are always comfortable there. Maybe they don't want to live in England....
However, to end all of this, a very generous improved contract from Calderon would keep Robinho here till he retires.
Now, lets just put Robinho's issue behind and see how the team did last night. They beat Columbian side Independiente 2-1.
Schuster started with Dudek, Salgado, Javi García, Heinze, Miguel Torres, Diarra, Guti, Baptista, Robinho, Raúl and Van Nistelrooy.
In the first half, a hard tackle on Guti resulted in a small scuffle and the ensuing sending off of Míchel Salgado. Things got complicated, and Independiente took the chance and scored the game's first goal.
Schuster then sent Rafael van der Vaart, who made his first appearance clad in white, Codina for Dudek and Robben for Robinho.
Soon after, Van Der Vaart showed his class as he scored a fantastic goal from a free-kick to equalize the scoreline. Five minutes later, he assisted Pepe who scored the winning goal from a header.
Van Der Vaart was clearly the maestro on the pitch last night. He showed his worth and he silenced his critics specially this angry Joe who commented on Ronaldo's article yesterday saying:
Van der Vaart is hardly a worthy alternative (to Ronaldo). The boy is never going to reach the potential that was once thought from him.
Well, Joe, it didn't take him that long, huh?
Alright, last but not least, Baptista is likely to pay me a visit here in Rome. Well, not exactly, I mean he is moving into my neighborhood after Spalleti asked me about him and I told him that Baptista was a good player, a loving neighbor and no loud music ever ever in his place, so he would just fit in perfectly.
Of course, he aint coming for free, Spalleti told me that they will give Calderon maybe £10m, not bad, so buona fortuna Baptista e benvenuto a Roma.
Gents.. Thats about it, more tomorrow. (I'd love to hear your comments on Robinho and last night's match)

. Ah as for Robinho I stand about what I always said .. Real Madrid should never allow a player to state his conditions on the club if he wants to leave then be it .. not every time a player want a rise we should give it to him , This would make the team go back into the dark...
Yeah I understand what you are trying to say, but this time Robinho has the right to leave. He had been happy before Real humiliated him. And another reason I think he wants to leave is that Chelsea are building a great team, they have a good coach and they always have cash, these attract players....
I don't think its the clubs fault .. its the damn media . Spain has the worst media ever just lies after lies . I think they are responsible for 90% of this problem if not more .

Well, the media reports the external atmosphere, what they hear, what the officials say, but there is a lot of things going on within the club. I'm not there, but from Robinho's statments (on TV, interviews..etc) I can feel that he is not happy. Another reason is why the heck Real denied him from going to the Olympics? They said he was injured and he wasn't. That must have pissed him off too

Ill or dead? Io non capito amico. So If he goes to Chelsea that ill or dead person will be revived? Silly, no dude, I'm talking about the way he is being treated. If I was him, my reaction would be the same, and thats why I left AS Roma when they traded me for Totti, you know

Well, he was a pal and I just didn't want to bug him. Another reason was that his girlfriend (now his wife?) was my ex and although I dumped here, I was still loving here, but the moral of the story, AS Roma traded me for him. Thank god they didn't trade me for Cassano, at least Totti someone deserves a hand shake.
Madrid should try to keep Robinho he is a gem of quality sit down and discuss problems and resolve them whether he is wrong or club is wrong settle the issue to the benefit of the club which is to win trophies look at Man U they are keeping Ronaldo its all about football and winning why not also buy David Villa to help Van and Raul

Couldn't agree more, this is what I'm trying to say, welcome to the blog btw
better ROBINHO stays .....and Baptista go... great goal by VDV
I think the Robinho situation is a complicated one. I think Madrid goofed it when it they openly said that he could be a trade value for Ronaldo. No player in there right state of mind likes to there that especially one that is in the middle of a contract dispute. He has every right to be upset and hear new offers. The one thing is having the players come forward and say that they want him to stay. Another is Schuster needs to talk to him and tell him that he is a valuable piece of the team. Calderon and Pedja better get this right and give one of the better players on the team a deserving raise. He has gotten better year after year and he should remain blanco.
PS: Yeah in some part I agree that the Spanish media has done a lot but if you look at the polls that AS and Marca have done a good majority of the folks want him stay. Hopefully the board will see this and realize that nobody wants to see him leave.
If Robinho does leave it will hurt me to see him wearing the Chelsea blue. I agree with all of you Real dropped the ball and let this whole C. Ronaldo get out of hand. He didn't even come and he completely unsettled the club. I honestly don't see any way to avoid a move unless Calderon and Pedja do something quick.
Lets really see what is going to happen in the comming days, sometimes we may say we don't know who is wrong or right, but take a look at C.Ronaldo's saga, Fergie took a plane fight to meet the boy and have a discusion. Note "PLANE FLIGHT", Fergie of all person, he put his pride aside. Calderon the board has too much pride for me, no matter who is at fault the board must look at themselves now and act in a civilized manner [put the pride aside]. Fergie wasn't the fault in the C.Ronaldo saga but he put hs pride aside to settle the issue. Robinho as been apart of R.Madrid longer than Calderon as been at the head...Robinho deserves some sympathy for his actions he is only human...Does Ronaldo desevers more love at Man U than Robinho deserves at R.Madrid????? And see everyone is happy at now at Man U. United is even trying give him a new 4 year contract, ensuring that he stays a little longer

Totaly agree with You about Ferguson,he put his pride aside! He proved once more how clever he is, that is why he has so much succeses!
But this can not be compared with Robinho,s situation!
He wants to move still to a smaller club than RealMadrid
(no insult to Chelsea)expecting trophies and showing us that he even does not believe in this team and his leaders and their future! And that is a mistake in my opinion!
I still believe he will stay!
For god,s name Robi, money is not the most important thing
in the world too!

Yeah but it is a gig, dude. For example, when I was at AS Roma
they used to pay four millions a year because I was dedicating all of my time to soccer. I would wake up in the early morning, go to training, get my ass kicked, go to training again then go home. Always being in shape, no sex, a lot of matches, a lot of travel, injuries...etc Those guys deserve what they earn.

.................
ROBINHO IS STAYING!!!
..................
Chelsea confirmed on Thursday that they had made an offer, but reports in Spain claim that Real bosses considered it "too low, not to say ridiculous".
Robinho has apparently told Real that he wants to join Chelsea having felt unwanted at Real and hurt by their refusal to allow him to join the Brazil squad in Beijing.
Robinho's agent Wagner Ribeiro has now launched a scathing attack on the Spanish club saying his client is furious with their actions.
He said: "Robinho is very angry because of the way Real's directors are behaving.
"He calls me everyday to find out if someone has informed me something about his future and I am forced to tell him they are not answering the phone.
"I have been trying to talk to a Madrid director for three days and they have disappeared."
The ongoing saga of will-they-won't-they surrounding the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo did nothing to curb the player's unease at the Bernabeu, and Real's summer targets left Robinho as their fourth choice winger.
"At Real Madrid he is not finding the love and support he needs - Scolari is giving him the love," Ribeiro said.
"Robinho can't understand anything. He has a project to be the best player in the world but at Real he won't be able to because he is treated like a normal player."
Speaking of obstacles that Robino faces in becoming a first choice player at Real, Ribeiro told The Sun: "Madrid wanted to sign Ronaldo. The second choice was Rafael van der Vaart. The third is David Villa - Robinho is the fourth."
Reports that the 24-year-old is speaking with Luiz Felipe Scolari on a daily basis will no doubt leave Real president Ramon Calderon on edge.
Comments that Calderon made shortly after Chelsea's offer was rejected appear to contradict what is coming from Robinho's camp:
"He is definitely going to stay with us. The coach has said he wan
