Daniel Opare

This article was kindly guest-blogged by a fellow Madridista, Miss Dangerous, at Realmadrid Forums.

According to press reports, Real Madrid have finally completed the signing of Ghanaian youngster, Daniel Opare. The young defender was born on October 18th, 1990 in Accra and plays as a right-back with Ghana national football team.

Real have beaten a number of clubs to sign the Ashanti Gold SC defender. He came to prominence in the 2007 Under-17 World Cup, and has since then impressed many clubs and Los Blancos has been one of them.

The deal is believed to worth €1.5million and the 17-year-old is said to have agreed a six-year deal with the Whites.

Opare told the Spanish media:

"For me to play in Europe is a dream, The offer of Real Madrid was more interesting to my club."

Obviously, Real Madrid don't need a new defender at the moment, But the Spanish Champions could find the benefit of this deal in the future.

Great signing...welldone!! With the speed our defenders are getting injured, basically 1 defender per game, we will soon need his services! How serious is salgado injury of last sunday? Although he left some gaps, he played really well...HALA Madrid!!
