La Liga: Real Betis - Real Madrid | Lets Crash Them!

Real Madrid travel to Sevilla to entertain Real Betis tomorrow night at the Ruiz de Lopera Stadium. Both of Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Miguel Torrest are likely to play, but Robinho is certainly out due to his injury.

Also Wesely Sneijder is out as he partially fractured the left side of his rib cage in training on Friday. This will give a chance to Drenthe or Balboa to play.

Raul, who signed a lifelong contract with Real Madrid yesterday, will be absolutely there.

I haven't been following Real Betis that much lately, but as everyone knows they are a good team and are very hard to beat especially at their stadium. They have number of good players, but If Real play as they did against Valladolid, then no worries at all

Squad List:
Goalkeepers: Casillas and Dudek
Defenders: Ramos, Cannavaro, Miguel Torres, Salgado, and Marcelo
Midfielders: Guti, Gago, Diarra, Robben, Balboa, and Drenthe
Forwards: Saviola, Raúl, Van Nistelrooy, Higuaín, and Soldado

Schuster's pre-match comments:

A victory over Betis could be the icing on the cake of a great week in both the sporting and institutional arenas.

We only see it as another match; a match against a Betis squad that isn't in an ideal situation but that will fight to the death. They're feeding off the match we had against Almería. That's where they get their hope. We have to have faith in the reaction we had against Valladolid. We have to stay consistent and not have any ups and downs.

There's been talk about extending your contract. Will it be the same as the extension Raúl and Casillas received?
I've heard about it but it's unfounded. I just got here and I am fine with everything I've got. I just want to be successful and do important things with Real Madrid. Everything else is secondary.

How responsible are you for everything that is going on at Real Madrid?

I think you know about everything that I have contributed: my ideas and my philosophy for this team. It's the players who are mostly responsible. They are the ones who score, who defend, who stop everything they can. It's also the team harmony and the set of participation rules we have. I, just like any other, have to do my share, but what really matters is that what takes place on the pitch. We have to improve. We have to strive for more, and little by little we'll continue getting better.

Do you think what took place yesterday can distract the group?
The lunch wasn't just to announce the Iker and Raúl matter. It just happened to coincide. We hold a lunch every month. It allows us to have the President and Sporting Director close by and to inform them about everything that is going on. It's a good time right now. It's all about everyone getting along and seeing each other more often.

Will the team play full throttle on Saturday or will you hold back and wait until Roma?
We have to go all out. All available men are traveling and no one who is fit is staying home. We're going to play who we feel are in best form, but we also have good reserves. I can tell you now that we are only going to recover one more player by next Tuesday. It won't be an issue, though. We are perfectly capable of playing two matches in four days. I am calm. I believe this team is capable of winning the next two games.

Little has been said about Betis. Do you think they deserve any special attention?
No, because we have spoken about Betis. We still haven't spoken about Roma because there's still time to prepare for that match. All our workouts and talks have been focused around Betis. We must maintain our lead over our rivals. That's why we have to win tomorrow.

How would you react if you were told that your contract was under review?

I don't know. I haven't thought about it. It's up to the club. I can say that I am calm and happy with everything that I have right now. I am only interested in how the team is doing and obtaining results that make us all happy. I have been waiting a long time to win my first title as a coach.

Will Sergio Ramos have the chance to sit this match out?
It's not necessary. Sergio is fit. He's rested enough with light workouts. We know him well and we believe he is fine. We haven't heard anything about his injury and tomorrow he'll be good to go.

How would you describe Totti?
I'd rather only speak about Betis, but Totti is worth talking about. Roma is built around him. He's the player who everyone has their eyes on. All balls go through him. He's very intelligent and can catch anyone off-guard. He's also capable of scoring. We have to keep a close eye on both Mancini and Totti.

Have you noticed anything different about your players with the Champions League around the corner?

I haven't noticed any anxiety, just good training sessions and a lot of concentration. We're fine after the Valladolid match. It helped us a lot. The players know another cycle of playing on Saturdays and Tuesdays is about to begin. It's great for our footballers. We want to play every three or four days. We're more enthused than anxious about these matches because they are so much more important now.

What do you think about the contracts given to Raúl and Casillas? Would it be right to give the same to Ramos?
I don't know the details, but I think what the club is doing is good. Iker is among the best keepers in Europe and having him here for his whole career is extremely advantageous. And Raúl, he's always said that he wants to end his career here. This is just another part of that recognition. It gives me peace of mind as a coach. Seeing what the club's intentions are is a very positive thing, but it's not my right to say who should be next.

Is it true that your contract doesn't include an indemnity clause should you decide to leave?

I'll be honest. I have no idea. I just sign contract, I don't read them. I see numbers and expiration dates, but I don't know. My worst moments as a footballer and coach coincide with contracts and meetings about them. I get lost and immediately want to leave. I just like coming, signing, and having the faith in those who make me do it.

Did you see Ronaldo get hurt? Do you think he will return?
I didn't see it, but I hope he gets better and doesn't have to retire likethat. It's not an honorable way to go for a player as talented as Ronaldo. I hope medicine can help, that he recovers, and that he can be back on the turf to end his career like he deserves. That's what I want for him.

I think we're in for a very tough game, Betis has always gave us hard time at their stadium and I don't see that changing now since they are near the relegation zone and every point counts for them, I expect them to be especially motivated for us on Saturday as thay are always but I do expect a hard fought victory maybe 2:1 for us, that would be my prediction.
As for the line up i would start with this 11:
Casillas, Torres, Cannavaro, Ramos, Marcelo, Diarra, Guti, Robben, Drenthe, Raul, Ruud.
Although I'm think Schuster will start with Slagado on the right would i prefer Torres for tomorrow.
I would also give Heinze some playing minutes to get him fired up for Roma next week, I’m not sure about his physical condition, if he’s fit I would play him as a central and move Ramos to the right.
May God be with us. Halo Madrid!

PS Where is Baptista?

That doesn't makes any sense especially now when Sneijder is injured, why would Scuster want to live him out, I really don't undersand, maybe he wants to save him for Roma, who knows.
