La Liga: Recreativo Huelva 2 - Real Madrid 3 | I Told You He Was Back

Robinho proved that Real Madrid without him are nothing and that he is the kind of players who can change an entire game and even a title race with just two touches. Real came from behind and beat Huelva 3-2 in a very controversial game that saw three red cards.

During the first fifteen minutes, Real were down 1-0 but thanks to captain Raul who equalized the scoreline by his header. In the second half, the referee sent Ramos and two of Huelva's players out which forced Schuster to change his tactics and send in Robinho who brilliantly scored two goals to extend the lead to five points as Barcelona were beaten by Atletico Madrid 4-2 at the Vicente Calderon last night.

Videos of the match are here

Here are some reactions:

Robinho

“We're not worried about Barça, just Madrid. We want to keep playing well and hope to win the Champions League and Liga.”

“We're happy to have won and that we're still leaders. We're pleased with our performance and for having won again. Today's three points are very important.”

I have no comments here. Robinho just played for couple of minutes and changed the game. What If he had played the entire game?

Pepe
“Winning is always important. Recre fought hard, but we're going home with the win. I hope we can do the same against Espanyol and Roma, and I hope I can play.”

“It's an important result. It's exactly what we hoped for. It feels great. I want to train on a more consistent basis and I hope to play more matches.”

Well-said, Pepe. I just hope you don't get injury again, because we need you very much and because this is the most critical period in the league.

Baptista

“This is an important victory. It gives us peace of mind, especially knowing that our rival slipped up. But what matters to us most is winning, tallying three points, and remaining atop the table.”

“Now that the season is coming down the home stretch, the teams at the bottom of the table aren't going to give us anything. We'll have to fight hard if we want to win.”

“We ran a lot and put a lot of effort into it. We felt better after the two red cards. There was more space to work with and we managed to touch the ball more often.”

“We're calm. We know that the lead means nothing if we can't maintain it. It dropped to two points in just three games. We have to take each match at a time and continue tallying points because our goal is to finish as champions.”

“We now have to think about turning around the [Champions League] tie because a 1-0 will suffice. Our whole season is on the line.”

No comments, I couldn't agree more with Baptista.

Casillas

“The team had to win. It doesn't matter how it was done, whether it was by playing well or poorly. We're happy with the result and with what took place in the Calderón. We're back on the winning track and we've recovered some self-esteem heading into the Roma and Espanyol matches.”

“We had to win any which way we could today. It's great that we've got a five point lead again.”

“Suffering is normal. We knew this match would be like this. The team was a little down due to recent results, so today we had to win, and that's just what we did.”

“We have to begin thinking about Roma. It's going to be a very difficult game. One goal is all we need, so we'll be fine as long as we don't concede any.”

“We have to be cautious. The league has yet to be decided. All that counts is that we won again and got some confidence back. The league isn't won yet. It's won in May.”

Casillas saved several balls. He was great and I hope he will keep it up. He is, as always, our savior.

However, there are some worrying news as it turned out that Drenthe and Robben are niggled after the match. Robben was forced to abandon the match with a bruised and sprained left ankle. However, both should be fine for Roma's clash.

Were you satisfied with the result? Did Schuster make any mistakes? Speak up in the comments section;)

Words can't express how happy I am that Robinho reached this level where he has proven to be a pillar in the the real madrid squadron.

Hopefully he'll bring magic in the years to come like Zizou did.

Finally we won a match it took a while since the last time but hey we're +5 again.
Nothing but praises for the lads for this match everyone did his job, although Recre was a little tougher than I expected, but in the end we won.
I'm just worried about Robben anf Drenthe there's no official info about their injuries I heard that Robben will miss the Roma clash, I hope I'm wrong. KING ROBINHO STRIKES BACK!!! That's a good name for this post. :D :D :D

Where are all those Barca fans now, hahaha they seem very quiet this week.
I think I told you what will happen when Kun Aguero meets Valdes.

great 2 c him back. club desperate need him now. but e next match against roma will b tough! without fragileman robben and some others, i hope real can still pull thru. in recent seasons, they conceded too many goals to lose out of champs league. ramos' absence could b also tough 4 e club.

watching madrid as losing is really a tough thing. last couple of weeks were really tough for the team and us because barac was closing the gap. but now it's great to see madrid at top with +5 point up from rivals.

Hi there. don't usually post here, but I have a question, if you don't mind. I saw Sergio Ramos get red carded for pushing the ref. Yet I find nothing about it online anywhere. Did he get tossed for more than one game? Seems to me that touching the ref, in such a disrespectful manner, no matter the reason, would be grounds for suspension lasting more than one game. Can anyone tell me what happened to Sergio? thanks.

Hi Voomie, I should have posted about this. Sergio is banned for two matches for doing that so we won't see him for Espanyol's match and the one after.

Bravo once again to our gallant boys and men. MADRILENO, you see what I said last week with regards to the El Catalan (do I get his name right) guy who was here to provoke us. He won't be seen around this week. They are the kinds that are never courageous to come out when they lose...We'll surely keep winning. Halla Madrid
