Messi Should Be Playing for Real Madrid & Casillas Will Never Win The Balon D'Or

Galagticos

Juan Villalonga, a guy who intends to stand against Ramon Calderon and compete for Real's presidency has said that players such as Messi, Ronaldo and Kaka should be playing for Real Madrid. In other words, he wants to adopt the Galagticos policy again.

"Players such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo or Kaka should be at Real Madrid. I will copy the model that Florentino used," Villalonga told radio station COPE.

Copying that model is not a smart thing to do. AC Milan are doing it right now with signing Ronaldinho and David Beckham (on loan), and they might be doing well, but it won't work at least not in the long-term.

The key is to bring in players if they are really needed. We sacrificed Makeleele for Beckham, Morienties for Ronaldo..etc we simply wanted big names not players who would fit well into the team.

I'm not saying it was wrong to bring all of those players, but it was wrong to do it non-strategically.

Brazil had the best squad in the World Cup 2006 in Germany yet they were crap and got kicked-out easily. There was no harmony and connection between the players. The same thing we had been experiencing before Capello came on board and fixed it.

The bottom line is no, this strategy will not work and I hope this guy will not get elected.

Oh wait, there is another crazy guy here, Denis Chaumier, the editor of France Football.

In an interview on French Television he said that Casillas will never be able to win the Balon D'Or.

He is the man who is responsible for handing out the award and he is supposed to be disallowed to speak about candidates for fear of jeopardizing any voting and swaying the poll.

This is contradicting to what this award is about. What I understand is that this award is given to a footballer who has won major trophies and has produced good and consistent performances with his respective teams.

Casillas has won the Euro 2008, La Liga and the Zamora trophy on a personal level. He has played pretty much all season and has been consistent with both Real Madrid and Spain then why the hell he'll never be able to win it? Oh wait, is it because he is a goalie? but he is a footballer. Or that junky Ronaldo deserves it just because he is an attacking midfielder.

I think this is pure insane. What do you think?

I cant say I'm surprised that Juan Villalonga is using Calderon faliure to sign any star player to his case . I mean I would but putting messi as your goal .. this by far the most stupid I've ever heard from people who wanted to take the office off of calderon .

I would hate to see this guy in office, the term Galactico makes me very sad, I don't want to see that happening again. There's no point in ruining others careers and signing players for the sake of it. This is why I like Calderon and Mijatovic, they might me disgraceful but they're smart when it comes to football, they know how to work the team and which players are needed although this summer was a dissapointment. I don't want this guy in office nor do I want Perez, I think most people would agree that they don't want the Galacticos all over again. I'm gonna say Calderon FTW on this one. Hala Madrid!

After almost 4 years of the "Galacticos" era you would think that we would have learned. This guy is a joke. We have a great squad. All we need to is two or three quality players. We have players for the future in Marcelo, Higuain, and Drenthe. We have experience with Ruud, Raul, and Iker. What we don't need is superstar with matching egos. We seen this with many teams. You can't buy trophies, you can only earn them through experience. Look at Chelsea. Not to knock on them but they haven't won what Roman desperately wants, the Champions League. I may not like Calderon and Pedja but after two back to back Liga's I think they know what they are doing. I just hope Calderon won't panic or worry and go on a spending spree in order to appease the board.

Messi? no this guy is the most selfish player i've ever seen in my entire life, maybe he is talented but no he will never play for Real Madrid NEVER!!
It will be excellent if we brought Kaka,Kun Aguero and Daniel Alves, the lineup will be as:

4:4:2
Goalie: Casillas
Defence: Ramos,Pepe,Alves,Marcelo
Midfield:Robben,Kaka,Diarra,Sneijder
Forward:Raul,Aguero

Yeah, i hope this guy never gets in office. The galatico period ended in tears and the compiling of star players doesn't mean success. Barca have found that out over the last couple of years too. When a great player is bought he must fit in the team i.e Figo, Zidane when they joined REAL MADRID and not disrupt the rhythm of the team i.e. Ronaldo, Beckham.
HALA MADRID!!!

i think they should have interviewed Villalonga before his long lunch at Botin's good line up but in all honesty i think even Raul who walks on water in my world would admit Higuain is fastly becoming a very worthy replacement just as the afore mentioned Gonzalo Higuain is offside actually he's not that should've been given. Messi in a white shirt! NA!! & manbag Ronaldo should never even be considered to Fill the famous shirt of raul Beckham Wore 23, slave boy should be branded with a barcode
