I'm currently in a very bad mood, obviously, because Real Madrid and Schuster frustrated the hell out of me. And because my own father, who happens to be a Juventus fan, called me "arrogant kid" simply because I told him that Real Madrid were as prestigious as Juventus.
I knew we were going to lose once I saw the lineup. "Cheat me once, shame on you, cheat me twice shame on me" - Schuster again went with the 4-3-3 formation that he used in the first leg - he made the same mistake twice and so he isn't a smart guy.
I'm by no means a professional coach, player nor analyst but the way Schuster dealt with the game was unprofessional. I understand that Pepe was injured and so was Robben (or wasn't he?) but again playing with the same strategy, lineup and group of players was wrong.
Why the hell would you bench Van Der Vaart? Drenthe worked his ass-off but he wasn't enough to break into Juve's defense. There should have been another winger to help him out through the other flank and I thought Van Der Vaart would do the job.
Another thing which pissed me off was playing the so aggressive Heinze. Schuster obviously had a few options, but I think Metz who is out form would have been better than Heinze.
Del Piero scored the first goal which was a clone of the one he scored in the first leg apart from the fact this one went into the left post. Whose fault? 50% Cannavaro for not putting pressure on Del Piero and disallowing him from striking and 50% Casillas for going a little forward and so he couldn't reach the ball.
Del Piero scored the second goal too from a free-kick. I reckon he only had a few chances and scored two goals. Impressive.
On the other hand, Real had a few more chances and failed to convert any of them. Ramos missed a sitter from four yards. Rau'l missed a header, Schuster was being jerky, I was swearing and arguing with the other Juve fans around me - It was a very bad match and I really really am not in the mood to tell you more crap about this game - I just need to calm down now - actually I gotta go to bed cos I have school tomorrow.
I'm pretty sure that all of you are so pissed off. I feel you guys - I really do. If you want to get anything off your chest do it in here, right now.
P.S: There will be a post tomorrow evening discussing whether Schuster should get sacked or not. Make sure you check out the blog.

Fire Schuster.... Hire somebody like Roberto Mancini who is a good coach and does not have a job right now
....when real madrid is going to end this lov affair with raul and guti...and build a team around young enthuseastic players not outer from legends....it's a real shame a club like real madrid is like this....jus look at Drenthe with every touch on the ball he inprove more and more as the game go on...that is to show Schuster man management and coaching skill is so poor...Coach,President & sporting director all should be fired...next summer...
This is the best result that could have happened. Honestly i am not going to say i'm the biggest Real Madrid supporter because that would be cliche i have been following this team for as long as i can remember. Any decent football watcher could have picked a better line up than the trash Shuster threw out there. Believing that Shuster is the right man for the job is saying that there happy with mediocrity that is NOT what Real Madrid is about. As long as Shuster is the head coach we will never win the champs league just winning la liga is not a season accomplishment ask any big clubs in the world you think manchester united and chelsea would think just winning the league title is enough NO.
Whatever could be the truth or not, there is one thing I feel
for sure:
This is not our time! Not our time!
We won,t win the CL and I knew it,but we could win Primera and that would be fantastic!A hard work is in front of us,
Schuster or anyone else!We will have to wait for the sun

Im gutted we deserve much more than this, how many fans around europe would have given a player who just scored two goals a standing ovation, old trafford i think not! We need a big changes at the club if we are going to move forward! Don santiago bernabeu would be turning in hes grave at what we have become. Out with the president and mijatovic and schuster. Chin up madridistas every dog has hes day!
See this result wakes up all of you in here,... i finally got my girl to watch Real Madrid play today she has been a critic of how the team is playing,, even the commentators said we missed Robinho,, I have been telling you all but no one agrees with me in here,,, what Real Madrid misses is that one created player who can change a game by himself that CR7 that Messi, Kaka,, ofcourse " THAT ROBINHO" who has one of the best strike Rate in England currently..When AC wanted Adebayor, Arsene Wenger said he is not leaving...Man U did everything to hold on to CR7....Bernd is not the Fault the fault is Calderon and Real fans who are at the Bernabeu,,because they will never want to see Raul on the bench....I know alot will not agree with what i am saying but for all of you who think Real is playing good football i did get my girl to watch Real play and the performance broke my heart she said they play like SH!T....Dentre tried but in the first half he was the worst player on the field,,,second half performance was better, higuain impressed comming on,,and why did Bernd took so long to put in Saviola in the final 10minutes,,, I am sorry for any Real Madrid coach who comes and Raul is still playing because i think Raul would be better in some none significant game and also games Real is up 2 goals and need the experience to keep the lead otherwise Raul would be better as a coaching staff.....This is my veiws.....Love U Real Madrid...

First i would like to tipp my hat to Drenthe he worked hiss ass off. Second shuster is an idiot for starting guti instead of vander vart. Guti did not do shit. And third how could we miss all these crosses i mean come on. All round shit performance and if we keep on seeing this its time for shuster...
No we must tipp our hats to Juventus, they played better than us it was a nice game except the DRUNKEn! refree,3 penalty kicks for us were cancelled and Schuster didnt manage the team well,so i think we deserved to lose because Schuster isnt listening......
This is what happens when a quality player like Robinho leaves without an adequate replacement. i have one question
WHO IS MADRID'S PLAY MAKER?
Who is in charge of the middle? Who feeds balls into the attackers? Who is the leader of this team?
Currently i have no answers to any of those questions. That is why we see Sergio ramos come up and try to assist attackers. This is why henize comes up the wings and tries to assist.
What did not make sense to me was how can u expect players that have had very little time playing with the team perform against a club like Juve? i am talking about Marcelo, Drenthe ( even though our best player was Drenthe) not because he did a good job but because of the effort he put on the field.
We will not go far in the Champions league!
We might win La Liga but it is not looking too good right now!
I don't know if Schuster can actually do anything to save this team. There is no chemistry. Balls are played in just for the HELL OF PLAYING THE BALL IN!!!!! We have quality NAMES but unfortunately we have no quality players (in respect to their performance thus far)
I read an article on Goal.com called "Ten reasons why madrid wont win anything this season" or something to the extent! I recommend it to all Madristas!
HALA MADRID
I have to agree with a lot of you that, sadly, RM doesn't seem to have a chance for CL this season.
Is it just me or is Ramos playing like shit lately? He seems to have lost his dribbling skills and confidence (I just hope that he will not go to Milan after all these crap)... Also.. Raul did better today, but still Higuain would have done a better job. Freaken Schuster, I don't know how he manages sometimes, he always bench players when they are in form and let them play when they are out of form (E.g. Van Der Vaart). Also, I hate it when he always substitute so late in games even when we are behind. IF WE AREN'T SCORING ANYTHING FOR 60 MINS, IT MEANS THAT WE NEED SOME CHANGES NOW!! He always wait till 70th or even 80th min to make changes, and 10-20 mins is not enough for players to get into the game... The only positive thing out of this game is that Drenthe has shown what he can do. He is good at dribbling, all he needs is chances to get into form and WORK ON HIS PASSES!!! I hope Schuster would use him more.
And just a word about Juve! They are amazing! When Trezeguet and the others come back they could go far, very far this season CL!We lost from a hell of a team!
This was one game to forget . I agree with most of you that we didnt have a playmaker . Fabio looked lost against his old club , ramos was still freaking out on the non field issues it seemed , no one supplied any quality balls for most of the game to the strikers , RVN was mostly in the flanks , and RVV who was supposed to be the main signing was chilling in the bench ! This is poor team management - to go with a 4-3-3 after the terrible game in Turin . Still all is not lost and we need to beat Bate to get thru . I think better sense should prevail now after a miserable 2 weeks . Get more ball time to Higuain and Saviola , play VanderVart , rest Hienze and shake Iker to become what he is expected to be - the best keeper in the world . Somehow , I have a very strange feeling , something is not correct off the pitch - because of which we are playing crap football . May God bless Madrid !

You're right about pretty much everything. Robinho, our most effective player was driven out and it's us to blame. Schuster decides to bring no back-up defenders with him, and instead of starting with Saviola, RVN and Higuain, he goes with Drenthe and Raul with RVN. Van der Vaart, our current playmaker was benched for...GUTI, the lazy imbecile who can't pass for shit
Sergio Ramos misses a sitter and ruins the game...and we Real Madrid become the laughing stock of Spain. The Spanish Champions lose out to Juventus and we expect to beat teams like Chelsea and Man Utd!? There's a 60% chance that we'll be up against one of them because we won't finish first in the group. The CL is out of the question unless we can make miracle signings in Jauary but we don't have that type of brain. I'm sad to say, And Robben...whenever we need him, he bloody lets us down. Never there, he's rightfully glass. Robinho, who was probably our best player is now shining for Man City while all we can say is we don't need him well I think this match showed just how important he was
Juventus > Real Madrid, that all I have to say. I don't even have enough pride to say Hala Madrid

The CL was out of question from the beginning for me!This team has not enough expiriance, although some players have(Iker,Raul),but team has not!The wishes are good thing, ambitions too,but don,t blame them for defeats like this one, after all!You can only blame yourself for being unrealistic! What could have done one Robinho when the whole team has no winning spirit! We need a total upgrade with some leader players we should buy or create!Calderon new that I think, that is why he insisted on Ronaldo so much this summer! What we have is a good fundamentals! What we need is a players-upgrade and time! For the CL win in next season! The situation is not good and I want put any smiles at the end!
Guti touched the ball only 5 times in the game and Shuster let him play the hole match. He is an idiot. It`s time for some fresh blod in the squad Guti,Raul,Heinze and Nistelrooy should leave.I have never seen more patetic game in my life.
I'd like to join the frustration; As soon as i saw the lineup, I as well knew the game was given. However, I think that the 4-3-3 is the way Real should play.
Real's greatest asset is Wesley Sneijder. He's the player that creates the flow. In order to emphasize his game, he needs a constructive team beside him; Diara - which contributes nothing to the play (aggressiveness aside), and Guti - which is (in my book) the worst positional mid-fielder in football, both make the team play slow, uncreative and obvious football.
A massive review of this season's games, suggest that when combined, the Gago-De La Red-Sneijder trio creates a compelling mid-field that brings back to the Bernabeu the inspirational football seen last when Zidane joined Figo, Helguera & Makalele.
But in order to rely on these 3, one must have HUEVOS in the size of Gran-Via. Here lies my true disappointment from Schuster. He's clearly doing a good job; it's just not enough. I, for one, don't think he needs to go - I think he needs to step up! This is the big league, not Getafe. There is no place and no time to spare - you try, you analyze, you perfect.
Another example is the weird Drenthe, Higuain/Saviola use/misuse; Drenthe is a very young and good player. But he's a player who thrives on disorder, when the other team goes "Hail Marry", or to tired to crowl. He gave it all, but was clearly out of his league. Let him play 15 mins (maybe 30 when it's xmas...) when the team either lead 2-0, or behind 3-0.
Saviola, on the other hand, is a striker who uses his agility, speed, quickness and technique to invent open areas from small cracks in defense.
Higuain is obviously the hottest player in the team. He's great form comes mainly from the combinational play with Raul, and the massive attention the left wing gets from defenses when Sneijder holds the reigns.
I believe in total football, and that Real's team can perfect it! It's just a matter of choosing the right men for the job...

Hi, I'm a Juve fan, sorry for my horrible english:
1 - I'm very very happy
2 - Real madrid players are arrogant; they say some thing as:
Cannavaro ($£%£&£%##!!!): "We win 2-0!!!"
Robben: "We win 4-1!!!"
News papers: "Del Piero haven't never made a gol in Bernabeu stadium"

Ciao,
First off, Madrid players are not arrogant. The coach is the arrogant one.
Cannavaro said we would won 2-0 because he thought we would. He hadn't thought that Schuster would be a real jerk.
Two weeks ago we lost to Juventus because Schuster made mistakes. We lost last night because he made the same mistakes.
Having more titles means prestige. But as you said, Juventus are currently better.
Mancini is a good coach but not one qualified to coach Real Madrid.
I am telling U,,, we need a latin coach i.e one from South America or Spain.. A Continental coach wouldn't do bad because they coach as a team.....A good coach from the Continentals would be Guus Hiddink

Either way there is something fundementally wrong at Madrid. I won't comment on the game for obvious reasons. When Capello was here he caused a lot of controvercies because he was not being influenced by the board. Capello likes to coach his way and he does not take anyones considerations or a players status when deciding a line up. We need a Capello or a Hiddink. If Schuster was that type of a coach we would not be in the position that we are today. We need a President who is just a president, we need a director of football who is just that. What the hell is Mijatovic commenting on things that don't relate to his job. Finally we need a coach who coaches decides the lineup brings the players that we need and not because of their name.
Why is everybody blaming Schuster? The first goal was a bad pass and the 2nd was definatly Casillas' mistake.THE REASON WE LOST WAS THE REFEREE!!!!and nobody mentioned him!We had 3 clear penlaties!!!

Guyz I'm so pissed I was at work and in the 2nd half i checked the results 2-0, so i didn't want to continue watching, but i was very angry for this performance, man it;s like players are not willing to fight and concentrate on scoring... but the roots of this problem is the president and the sports director, they are continuing the same shit strategy with players, Ramos is getting angry not from the bad football the team is performing but from their bad and evil way of controlling the team and its ressources, so that's why players are afraid to come to the team and prefer keeping with their squads as Villa, Cazorla and Joaquin...
2nd Robinho is not the payer we need ,come on guyz even when he was available the team's performance was sucking as now...The fact that he's the only loser from his move to M.city, and Pele is an expert & he said this...
and last I think Schuster must listen in a way or another if no we should kick him out on the winter break... and new blood players must come... Hala Madrid!

Dont' forget Guti. How does he start over Van Der Vaart? No offense to Drenthe he did run his legs off and worked hard but we should have started with a 4-4-2 That's what has worked, that's what the players are used to, and that is what has brought us results. Schuster is German not Dutch so he should know how ineffective a 4-3-3 is especially considering we lack pace up front and have no wingers. Anyone and everyone knows that Heinze, Raul and Guti should be dropped or brought on as substitutes. Alternate Diarra and Gago depending on whos fitter. Sneijder and VDV in the middle and Ruud and either Higuain and Saviola up front.

I agree that Robinho wouldn't have improved our performance dramatically. The problem as I see it doesn't lie in the quality of players but rather in the strategy and mindset that Schuster has.
For example, Del Piero had only a few chances and scored two goals. Thats called greatness and more importantly EFFECTIVENESS. We lacked the effectiveness in front of goal. The only player we had that I thought was effective is Van Nistelrooy.

First off, I don't have the right nor the ability to evaluate a coach, but from a fan perspective and from experience, Mancini wouldn't do something extrodinary. Granted he is a good coach, heck he is Italian
, but he can't get to what Real want to go - the Champions League final. He failed miserably with Inter with a more stable club and better group of players.
I like Jose and I think he can help Real win the Champions League. Grant? You gotta be kidding me, he is crap.

Rijkaard is a fantastic coach. They really dragged his name in the mud at Barcelona. With all the Dutch Players we have and the fact that he has experience in La Liga and has won the Champions League are very good additions to his resume. However, we dont have the necessary players that play to his strengths. There is no clear leader in our defence, we have no pacy wingers, he dont have a creative spark in the midfield, and with Ruud injured we dont have a main striker. Rijkaard may be already on the way to Milan. Ancelotti is on his 7th 8th year maybe it's time to call it a day and let Rijkaard to take over Il Diavoli.
Hey, a disappointing performance, no doubt, but let's not go over the top. Last season we had a dip in form between february and March which put us out of the champions league. I'd rather we had our bad form now rather than later in the season which could really costs us. We should still qualify from this group and i'm sure we'll get better as the season progresses.
Schuster proved himself a good manager last season(not to mention at Getafe as well).
Keep the faith everyone, i'm sure we'll have a succesful season.
HALA MADRID!!!

That's exactly what I've been trying to say...sacking Schuster now will undoubtedly be the worst decision Mijatovic and Calderon could make...if they want to sack him they should wait until the summer...just as they did with capello...and finally they got their reward with a title.
Hey guys, FOA I'll state my bias: I am a Juve fan BUT i truely admire REAL and you the contributors of this blog (apart from 1 or 2). The standing ovation you gave to ADP is something you should be proud of (unlike what somebody said that it made Santiago roll in his grave) BTW ADP was also given a standing ovation at OLD TRAFFORD! I got to know that thsi standing ovation thing to an oppsong player is a rare but not uncommon thing at the Bernabeau. Does any of you know of any players who received it. I believe Dinho was one of them with the incident of the white handkerchiefs too... Since i won;t be here often you can answer to my email: boxed@maltanet.net

First i would like to tipp my hat to Drenthe he worked hiss ass off. Second shuster is an idiot for starting guti instead of vander vart. Guti did not do shit. And third how could we miss all these crosses i mean come on. All round shit performance and if we keep on seeing this its time for shuster to go.
yep.. schuster needs to go! I have said this time and again, but he just isn't good enough to be the coach of such a prestigious club. I have said this ever since I saw the way we were playing this season. Simple, short, Sack him now, will give the new coach enough time start things over and start playing better by the time it becomes february.....
