So it looks like that we are REALLY on the skids now as I have just found out that we got kicked out from Copa Del Rey. Yes, you heard me. A third division team kicked the world's most prestigious club from the Copa Del Rey on aggregate.
I didn't watch the match and I'm glad I didn't. I don't care that Rau'l scored a hat-trick or Bueno played and scored. What I want to do now is to go to bed because I'm so f^^%kin tired and frustrated at the same time .... and Schuster will never admit he sucks - just wait for the press conference. He'll piss you off.....
Get it off your chest.... below..
UPDATE: Match Report and Schuster's crappy comments.
Round 1: repeat performance
Real Madrid needed one goal to win the tie on aggregate and move through to the Last 16, but they weren't the first to strike on their home turf. Real Union quickly proved they were in it for the long haul. Manu tested Dudek three minutes in and saw his shot cleared to corner by the diving keeper. Extremely organized in defense, the visitors stuck to their original gameplan: comfortable and enjoying every minute of the match, contrasting drastically to Real Madrid, who had trouble penetrating the final third.
Not until 12' did Raúl finally find an open space, but Berruet cut the play short, proving why he had earned a return trip to the starting lineup. Real Irun's answer was devastating. Manu robbed the ball from Marcelo and crossed it into the box for Abasolo, who had blown by Salgado and beat Dudek with his left foot (13’). The Madridistas had trouble recovering from the hard jab. Marcelo tried his luck from a distance to no avail (19’), Sneijder's centre was punched clear by Eduard (30’), but Raúl at least brought his boxing gloves...
With ten to play in the first half, the captain got his head to an accurate cross by Marcelo and beat Eduard, who had come too far off his line. Back on a level playing field, the two sides duked it out for a trip to the next round, and there was time for another jab just before the whistle was blown. Saviola found the keeper's deflection following a powerful shot by Raúl, but the legal goal was disallowed by Medina Cantalejo (44’).
Round 2: the underdog bites back
Real Union had discussed knocking out the Whites, and they immediately put the heavy favorites against the ropes. Salcedo found a lane between Metzelder and Javi García and slipped the ball past Dudek to put the visitors up 2-1 (48’). Steadfast in defense and daring in attack, there was no reason to question why the visitors are sitting atop Group I in Segunda Division B.
The Whites were down but not out, and after three touches on the ball between Sneijder, Saviola, and Raúl, the captain had no trouble knocking in his 299th goal for Real Madrid (50’). The giant had awoken, and trapping the opponent in its corner tried to deliver the TKO. Salgado's shot however found the side of the Real Union net (55’).
He had only been on the pitch for seven minutes after replacing Drenthe, but Alberto Bueno didn't hesitate in winning over the Madridista faithful. In a sensational individual play by Castilla's leading scorer, the forward robbed the ball just outside the box and magically curled it into the corner of Irun's net to bring the Bernabéu to its feet (67’). The scorecard was dead even.
Raúl appeared to deliver the final uppercut when his cross into Bueno went untouched and completely deceived Eduard. The captain's hat-trick was also his 300th goal as a Madridista, but unfortunately the knockout blow was dealt by Eneko, who capitalized on a defensive mistake and headered in Real Union's third of the night to send the underdog into the Last 16 of the Copa del Rey.
Schuster:
"I think Real Unión should be congratulated because they played rather well in both games. We weren't capable of adding tension to either match. You always have to go for it; talking about it before kick-off isn't enough."
"I don't think there's an attitude problem; all my men ran and worked hard. The problem is that teams manage to get us into trouble with few chances on goal."
"The problem is that teams score against us from the first chance they get. They don't dominate the match, they don't really put pressure on us... They simply score. This team is always willing to make a comeback from an early defeat, but it's impossible to keep that up in every clash. It doesn't always work."
In a game like this, with his job in question, he should've fielded the best team possible and he didn't. A grace B keeper and a grade C defence will not get you far. Forget the january transfer market, the team needs to rally out the year and revamp the entire squad in the summer.
It was a destiny! But better one Antonio Bueno than one Kings cup
I saw the match and yes who cares if raul scored a hat trick but the only bright side out of a dark hole was seeing Bueno play he is ready to move up from castilla and the best performance was from gago who worked his ass off in for every tackle covering the entire field if he gets injured we are absolutely done. The worst part of the game was the ending were the real madrid fans gave another standing ovation to the Irun players wow i have a strong feeling this will keep happening throughout the season and could we see another episode of what ronaldihno did to us like 4 or 5 years ago but this time messi. Shuster needs to be fired!
real madrid must fire schuster he isnt good enough for real madrid maby he is better to go back in getafe.
also when he speaks after the matches he speaks like he is in such a small club like we were fantastic tactically but we cant score and juve are very strong thats all that we may do .Its shamefullllllllll
Real need new trainer maby mourinho or wenger
whyd wenger or mourinho want to go to a shit club like real madrid.. whens the last time youve been in a champions league semi final? your shit.. end of mate. third division here you come =]
raul's wait for a copa del rey reaches its 15th year. oh well, schuster better sort out this shit defense
visca el barca
here is hoping madrid defense improve
It's easy to just blame the defence - the whole team is split in half with none of the midfield players except Gago tracking back and leaving huge gaps in midfield. This makes it impossible for the defenders to cover all the space effectively - and Schuster has no clue how to fi it - he just said as much in his post-match press conference.

............Real Madrid is bigger than any club on the earth
the history and statistcs prove that(champions league)you must be shamed creepig worm.
I'm so damn sure that we start to lose the character of a super team. A good team should have subs in the squad to cover the main line-up, in such occasion like copa. But if madrid 2nd squad simply can't win against a third division team like union, then a revolution should be made. I guess, half of the 2nd team should be filled with castilla player. They will have a better stamina and power than oldies, since i see that in copa, spirit is needed more than experience. Just take a look at wenger and his squad. And also, castillan will absolutely have a stronger pride to play in madrid's costume. Calderon, pedja, and schuster, or whoever there in madrid should consider this, or madrid will suffer longer in copa, Hala Madrid!!

...or he is just a jealous Barca fan. I mean, we have the quality players. Barca has Hleb...come on!!
To be honest I was expecting this , probably the end of schuster's run .
Did not watch the game cause i did not want to get frustrated as it seems to be the only consistency with this Madrid lineup. I can not believe how awful the defense is.
So, whats next for Madrid?
I think a change is needed from the top level down. Calenderon must go along with him is Mijavotic!
He is to blame because of him dumb relentless pursuit of that flamboyant Christiano. Even if we got him, we dont have the men needed to keep such an arrogant player in check!
So what's next? I have no idea but black December is approaching and the team is looking worst day after day.
We are in for an embarrassing time! So keep ur head up Madristas and be proud no matter what the outcome is!
I have read the reports on weekends match Real Madrid agianst malaga at Berunabeu, and comemnator sais and I quote "Real Madrid have somehow grabbed a win despite clearly looking second best for much of the match". I for one am Tired of a team that dosen't play much football and wins only by the grandor of its name. Madrid surly makes good matches once in a while, but most matches wins without playing much, and with much luck, like the win in Champions League at Zenit St. Petersburg. I am a fan of spectacle football and I just can't stand teams that overwealm the smaller ones just with their names, and not gameplay. Way to go Juventus to always show us what Real is wrilly made of.
We lost to a 3rd division club. And for some reason, I do not feel frustrated, (its another fact that I've been over that emotion), I'm not tense, I don't feel that this is the end of the earth. No! I just feel that we are going through that period in a club, where we are in a phase for change. Barcelona went through this and came back super strong. All good clubs go through this phase. Its time for a new Real Madrid, a Madrid which will reorganize better for the years to come. This Madrid board and the entire hierarchy must change. For once, since this season began, I have been really critical of Schuster and his tactics, but, right now, I feel nothing but sympathy towards the man. Yes, his team should defeat teams of smaller status like Real Union, but, the fact that Schuster had to get a player from the Castilla team, proves how impotent our squad is. I wouldn't blame everything on Schuster, and he does not even deserve to go, but, major changes need to come into every section of the team. The defense needs heavy fortification, (kudos to Mijatovich for sending back Garay), the midfield needs at least one name brand player, a striker who can score consistently like Eto'o. I am not very sure if we will win anything this season, but not every club wins every thing every single season. Its times like this, that we need to keep our heads up, be optimistic and most of all, realistic. Our ambitions are high, but we must not lose track of reality. We won the league for 2 years, and as a result, a once-good Calderon tried to impersonate the stupid and foolish Perez, who was a failure himself to a certain extent. So, heads up my fellow Madrigal, this is just a testing period, I am sure the next season, or the one after the next, we will be back to being the greatest club there ever was!

We have a very serious problem in defense. That's our weakest line, we score but we concede more.
What are you guys talking about...you are saying our second team lost to Real Union. It's the first team players who lost. Just by playing with dudek in goal doesnt mean we are playing with reserves. Just check out the arsenal team that beat Wigan (who fielded a full strength team) in the cup. Wenger's team was the 2nd team. We were just missing a few players like Pepe, Robben, Ramos, Van and Castillas..but if you think about it Ramos and Castillas has been shit out of late and Van is getting old we have to realize that. Nevertheless all the players in the field are considered world class players most of them are first team regulars in their countries team. So how on earth can they lose to a 3rd division team?? There has to be something wrong with the tactics. We concede way to many goals.
Again, over-reaction is the case. If someone would heap so much pressure on me, I would fail too. Schuster is a great coach and unless we start to trust him, we'll keep on failing, the guy gets more nervous as we criticize him. I expected us to be knocked out in the first place and it could benefit us greatly too. Look at the bright side, we found a very capabaly young player who could be what we need. This is Real Madrid, expectations are high but all these comments show that we're in some sort of crisis but no, we're not, a crisis would be losing 10 games in arow, falling to 10th in the league and gettick knocked out of the CL and i'm pretty sure this won't happen. How many of us really even care about the King's Cup. As Salgado said, this is only because we don't have any pressure on us while playing such games. The team becaome over-confident and they lose. Defense though is a huge problem, we can't concede from sides like this and that must be improved. Some of you are just going over-the-top, revamp the squad!? Are you out of your minds, this squad has the talent to be the best, it's te way it's put to use that's the problem. Schuster also get son my nerves but then I realise that it's no easy job. I think we should relax because we weren't going to win the Copa anyways so it doesn't matter. Hope for better, who knows, this could be the turning-point we need!? Hala Madrid!

I agree totally...however I DON'T think the problem is the defence. The problem is the equilibrium in the squad...how can a team play with 3 attacking midfielders and a creative midfielder?(Not to mention that Marcelo is an attacking left back)That's the reason we're conceding many goals....this problem can all be solved when Diarra comes back from injury and if we find one...right...signing in January. That's all it takes....and we'd be seriuos contenders in the champions league.

I like the idea of two defensive, ball-holding midfielders but when Capello used to use this tactic, the defense was still pretty bad though wLINK#e've improve a lot and maybe this could be a good tactic. I also think that we need a good right-sided winger. As Robinho left, we can't even play two genuine wingers in the same XI and i'm sure with two we would improve much. But Daniel, the problem is, we're not going to finish first in our CL group and end up with a team like Chelsea or Man Utd and i'm definetly not going to say that we'll win them, even with our on-form team, that's a very hard task. Hala Madrid!

We don't need to play two defensive midfielders...because that is too defensive for Real Madrid...the right combination is 3 attacking midfielders and a holding midfielder...instead of a creative midfielder
I totally agree with you that we need a right sided midfielder.

That's a good strategy but when we ask for attractive football, Schuster HAS to make such moves. I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to field such a side but he's got so much pressure to deliver that he must make such changes to play attacking football but then defense is lacking. We need the tactical genius that guided us to half a season undefeated, he's still Schuster, let him to his job everyone and he will deliver! Hala Madrid
You dont only need to be good in tactics to make a good coach. You also need to be able to get the best out of your players. One of the most important and spirited player of our squad the past 3 years (Ramos) recently said he is not enjoying playing for the team. Havent you ppl noticed that whenever real is not losing to a team they are playing lethargically. Its only when they go down that they start puting pressure. They need discipline in games. Either way you talk about the talent of the players...just compare it with a team like chelsea. If you compare one by one player the chelsea players are better off. After the galacticos we wanted to change the image of the team and started signing small names. I am not saying they have potential but players like marcelo gago higuain are not able to make the deifference in big games as of yet. I didnt include drenthe bc I Dont think he has the potential to ever match up to great players. Also they signed saviola who is a bench warmer and when he comes of the bench he doesnt add anything. Best senior players are Robben (but injury prone)and vaart and ramos (quite temperamental) and sneijder (who is never consistent). We need to invest in some hard working players...I wish they had signed makelele for free...he would be a good holding midfield..and not diarra or gago who were unknown to me before they moved to Real.
LOL NTN surprising really thats what i expected to happen to the beautiful amazing team "the royal team" .... damn they shoulda made ya play with some kinda club in ciralanca or iraq to make ya madriditas feeel like a royal team lmao the royal macroyal is going down hopefuly will get ntn this year ... like i said enjoy history books cuz you wont be adding anything in d future "blancos" , man of the match is raul for his hat trick and gago had the best performance , iknw theyLL be moving next year to a REAL team thats a fact .. a team that can actually win smtn .... hardluck madrid... sry folks take ntn personal and change your colors why the suffering why the misery ... back smtn up with passion ... HALA MADRID !

I don't think Schuster is a great coach. Any coach would haverealized that Heinze is a gamble. He has been horrible for the past half a dozen games and yet he still plays him despite the fact that Metzelder and Marcelo are fit. I agree that it's not all his fault. It seems that the players are not stepping up. This is a wake up call and we need to sort out or defense. That is the most important aspect that we must address. Schuster thrived at Getafe where there was no pessure and where he could do his own thing. Schuster has played for Madrid and he knows that pressures that come with being the coach of Real.

How come he thrived at Getafe!? He guided a newly promoted side to the UEFA Cup
That's highly impressive, taking them to Copa final is also impressive. Getafe would really not have been where they stand without Schuster. He needs to be allowed to do his job, if he still fails, then we can say he's not worth it but when he is allowed to do what he wants, he get the results, I have full faith in him and hopefully, our return to form starts from Valladolid. Hala Madrid!

Well, we have just added two league titles in the last couple of years. The history books get updated everyday.
I heard that Metz and Cannavaro got injured, any news on that?
yeah I heard that too....who is going to play in the centre?

Maybe Calderon and Schuster?
Word from Marca is that Cannavaro suffered a lower back injury and Metzelder suffered an ankle injury. Let see what happens

Alot of you in here had supported Schuster at first,,, but i told you all at first he isn't so good,,, you all must understand some coaches can't coach stars, some coaches are better off coaching lower teams and getting the best out of their players, but when it comes to coaching stars they are just not cut out for the job... Schuster isn't the Real problem......
