Last night, Real were already champions and Levante where already relegated so it was just for fun. Codina was quite impressive, Ruud scored again, and Sneijder once again proved that he is a world-class midfielder. On the other side, Levante were brave and deserved the standing ovation the Bernabeu fans gave them.
Here is the recap. Scroll down for videos of the match.
There was a party atmosphere at the stadium from the very beginning, with the fans eager for the celebrations to start. Jordi Codina made his debut in the First Division and had a great performance with two spectacular saves; he cleared a powerful shot by Courtois on the 18-minute mark and another by Geijo twelve minutes later (30’).
Real Madrid looked for a goal from the start. A play down the left wing by Sneijder ended with a missed shot by Robinho (17’). Minutes later, the Dutchman crossed the ball to Ramos from a corner kick. The defender crossed it into the box for Van Nistelrooy to score the opener (21’). The Whites kept looking for more goals and their efforts paid off when Ramos netted a header from a spectacular cross by Guti (30’).
Van Nistelrooy, back with a vengeance
More chances came, especially from Guti's feet. Van Nistelrooy proved to be in excellent form and scored again after picking up the ball from a missed shot by Robinho inside the box (40’).
More goals were yet to come, including two from Levante, who truly deserved them; Courtois did a spectacular play on the goal-line and managed to pass the ball to Geijo, who rammed it into the back of the net (52’). The beautiful goal was acknowledged by the Bernabéu crowd with an applause.
Real Madrid kept up their intensity and Wesley Sneijder eventually scored from a beautiful free-kick (53'). Levante were not ready to lose by such a large margin, pulled rank and scored again a few minutes later through Geijo (63’).
Close to the end of the match, the Madridistas reacted and Sergio Ramos netted a beautiful header from a free-kick by Sneijder (77’).

It is great that the match was never suspended after the threat last week to boycott the match by levante.
i just hope madrid will just buy one or two key players in positions required strengthening for next season. pleeze dun divide the team but build on it.
next season, champions league should b e aim. i have been waiting for no.10 for far too long!!!
There was a possibility that Madrid would play against themselves which would have been a lot of fun
