Real Madrid Deny Robinho's Rumors

Robinho - Real Madrid

Real Madrid have denied the rumors linking their wonderkid, Robinho, with English club Chelsea. Club officials have stated that Robinho is going nowhere and they are working on extending his contract which expires in 2010.

Real Madrid's
coach, Bernd Schuster, has recently stated that Robinho is essential for the team and that they are happy with him:

"Robinho as well as Robben are essential for us" Schuster said

"Robinho is an important player for Real Madrid, and he is going nowhere. He is pretty happy to be in Spain too"

During the last couple of months, I've heard numerous rumors linking Robinho with clubs including Juventus, Arsenal, Manchester United and yeah, Chelsea. While I believe that there is no smoke without fire, I'm pretty confident that these are just rumors and nothing else. Actually, very recently I heard Robinho in an interview saying that he wants to stay at Real Madrid until he retires.

Additionally, some people claim that with Robben in the squad, we don't need Robinho. This is totally wrong because Robben is most of the time cursed with injuries and even when he is on the pitch, he is not that effective (well, I admit he was awesome in the last rounds of La Liga). Additionally, Calderon, Mijatovic and Schuster are not that stupid to let such a player go. Robinho has proved many times that he is the kind of player who can change matches dramatically.

Whats your take on this?

I wouldn't let a player like Robinho leave the squad... as you said, he can change matches how he wants, without any problems. As well, he is really good at moments like one-on-one since he knows how keep his calm and manage to do what he wishes. I hope Robinho stays a Madrista till he retires.

Hala Madrid!

well when we seem to be spending the whole transfer talk on C.Ronaldo, why wouldn't the likes of Robinho feel threatned, he should ask for as much as he feels he wants or move, if we are so after C.Ronaldo and beleive he can do everything on the pitch then we don't need Robinho or do we?
