Real Madrid Sign Klaas-Jan Huntelaar From Ajax

Monday, 01 December 08, 07:42 PM · Comments (41)

Huntelaar

Marca, AS, El Mundo, Cadena SER and Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, have all confirmed that Real Madrid signed Ajax' striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar for an unknown fee.

The striker has been chased by many European clubs, however, it seems that he wanted to join his Dutch friends in Madrid.

Huntelaar's record is very impressive. He has scored 75 goals in 90 matches he played for his club and with his national team he scored 7 goals in just 11 matches.

Huntelaar will be able to play in the Champions League of course after he recovers from his injury from which he'll fully recover in January.

He'll certainly strengthen our attacking line. I have always thought that Villa would be better because he is more experienced, Spanish and stuff, but getting him is pretty difficult and I'm convinced that the club made a good signing because if you look at the strikers available in the market, you'd realize that it is rare that there is one capable of playing for Real Madrid.

Some people might argue that Benzema would have been a better choice, but I think that Real paid a reasonable fee for Huntelaar, while if we wanted Benzema we would have paid something like 50m euros which is a lot of money.

So, Ramon Calderon promised that he'd announce two signings today. This is the first one, apparently, who do you think is the second? Arshavin or Tevez?

Hala Madrid!

P.S: I'd like to thanks TheAngleOfMadrid for reporting this earlier in the comment section here.

I love it Huntelaar we are ready for you we already have the #19 jersey set out for you hope you accomplish great things with Real Madrid.. i know we have a injury crisis but by January everyone will be recovered excepted Ruud but this is ok since we brought in Klas-Jan.. all Real Madrid need to do is survive the next four games which is sevilla, zenit, barcelona, and valenica and if we do this we will be in great shape but it will not be easy

What is Real Madrid turning into little Holland, i don't even think that Schuster had any say in this signing Mijatovic is in love with these Holland players not saying there bad but the coach is the one who is supposed to tell the directors who to sign where he needs help such as every top manager does for every TOP club, not the other way around another reason schuster is not a good enough coach for Real he's a rag doll that should be thrown in the trash.

I do believe this is yet to be official. Huntelaar has agreed terms but Ajax have around 48 hours to give their final verdict on whether to close the deal or not. They let him negotiate in the first place sho i'm pretty certain we can expect to see him in our #19 jersey in the January. And I think the second isn't Tevez, it'll be either Di Maria or Arshavin though I feel Di Maria fits the description. Huntelaar is a god signing and he's a great replacement for RVN as they're both goal-poachers and beautiful finishers. It'll be cool seeing them play together when RVN returns. Hala Madird! =D

I agee Schuster is probably the first person to realize we had a striker crisis when he was forced to play Saviola and he still probably prefers to play Bueno over Saviola. If we do sign Huntelaar then this is more motivation for Saviola to leave. As for who is next. Di Maria or Tevez. Tevez seems more plausible as he can't get a game since Berbatov moved to Utd. He would want to play and having Higuain, Gago and Heinze (although there is talk that Liverpool may be interested in Heinze). The only turnoff for me is that Tevaz has a big price tag. Let see what happens hopefully we will sign a defender too.

Finally! I am happy with this signing...a signing that to me should've happened over the past summer but better late than never. I am eccstatic that he will be able to play in th CL.....Di Maria is the next to come instead of Tevez....even though Tevez is good I for some reason can't see him in a Real uniform. Imagine RVN (old and all) playing alongside Huntelaar :D .......looks like raul is getting slowly pushed down the starting line =D
Also did you all hear about DiSalvo under pressure? For the longest time I've been saying that the fitness coach needs to go......they really need to send him packing.....that ex- ManU worker is sabotaging my team!

Did you see his press conference like 3 days ago when he said he had no idea who they were going to sign bcuz he wanted to wait to see his xmass present what a loser Mijatovic doesn't take schusters input seriously. Every top manager comes out and tells the directors what they need we've seen Benitez, Fergusen, Mourinho, Scolari, ext. has schuster ever come out and said what he needs and wants NO. All i can say is if they make the mistake in keeping schuster and we become like B.Munich and AC Milan playing not qualifying for the champions league next year than maybe we should bring back Florentino Perez he has learned he can't do what he did and when he was in charge we did have the best players in the world.

As i said before alot of us would make bad coaches and bad directors,,, can U imagine our current president who is not the greatest of presidents has realized that the team is in crisis and is now making effort to solve the problem,, let me say this, if my baby has a slight fever i will attend to the matter and if it doesn't get better i will seek medical attention,, i will not wait untill he starts vomiting and having severe diarrhea, to say Real is not in a crisis because we are still in CL position is crazy that needs a laugh [LOL] Bayern Munchen and AC failed to have realized the crisis they were in,, anyway the point MORZZAN made about Real bench was superb.... I do believe if Real bench cannot perform good enough that means our bench is not ready to be a Real Madrid bench,,, but it is good to know Real president has realised his mistakes,, my only concern is, WILL SCHUSTER BE ABLE TO HANDLE ALL THESE TALENT??? But we shall see and i do hope he will.... TO ALEX, i was wondering the same if Real was turning into little Holland,, but Real and Holland is similar, THEY BOTH CAN ATTACK BUT CANNOT DEFFEND....... Everyone is talking about Real attacking transfers what about the back four?? and everyone may say injuries is Real main concern,, what if Real doesn't veiw this as a crisis and take the necessary steps,, if we have the same team and they are 100% fit and winning that is no problem, but if Real has the same bench and losing when injuries occur what will everyone say " OK ITS JUST ANOTHER SET OF INJURIES THIS IS NO CRISIS ITS JUST REAL BENCH PLAYING" tell me all how does that sounds??? I do agree with MORZZAN Real Madrid bench should have done better

Great news!! Madrid is slowly turning into Holland!! Its funny cause Barca back in the day had all the great holland players and now madrid have taken over that status.
I am happy that we signed him. I think he will be great at Madrid. Robben, Sneider, VDV, Van Goal, Robben, Drenthe and now Huntelaar.

I think the next signing is going to be Arshavin even though i think Tevez would be a better candidate but our relationship with Man utd. isnt good!!

I can't wait to see Huntelaar in action come January!!

The next signing is Di Maria, I would bet on it, the Benfica coach has said so himself that he is regined to losing him to us. And BTW, the purchase of Huntelaar is not official just as yet but is very likely to go thtough. I think it's also important that we bring Garay back early as our defense is useless. Hala Madrid!

Yesterday i was so happy when I found out that we are so close to signing Huntelaar. But then i remembered that it's how Barca was a few years back and i don't want Real to be the new FC Holland or whatever..

Byt the way, we can't bring back Garay this season. The rules are i think that if a player has played more than 5 games he can't be transfered to another team in the same league, it doesn't matter if u buy him or if he comes back from lown..

On more thing. When we play a game and the camera man shows Schuster, doesn't it seem to you as if he doesn't care what happens and he wouldn't be sad if he got sacked? I Almost get the feeling that he wants to get sacked. How many times has he not appeared on the training ground?? I'm real scared of this thing. Just because of that i've started to doubt he can be a Real Madrid Coach perhaps it's cuz the 2 idiots doesn't care what he thinks

PS. I Hate Mjiatobitch cuz he thinks he knows what players fit in and whitch ones don't. And the fact that he doesn't listen to Schuster. I got real pissed of when i read that interview with Schuster when he said: We're all gonna have to wait for the christmas present, INCLUDING ME!

i guess yue have seen the wrong video =D because Di Maria has the skills- dribbling, shooting and creativity.
Robinho was tremendous, but in every 10th game or so...

well from what ive read on marca, its left up to ajax to agree if to sign or not in 48 hours, probably 24 now, ajax will probably agree, afterall, i remember when sneijder was signed by you guys, ajax played around, and measured their options, acted like they didnt want to sell, then they sold him to you guys finally, so they will sell most likely(they can never say no to money). As a cule, even though i prefer to see madrid suffer, i still am glad to see the team strengthening, so atleast the title fight will be more competitive(and then no excuses if barca manage to the league ;) ) anyway i hope your other players recover quickly as well, as no one likes to see exceptional professional footballers out injured(like messi every year, sigh*, and you can relate with robben.). May the best team win in el classico(hopefully barca ;) )

WOW,,, impressive,, a Barca fan writing with respect,, anyhow i do hope some of these transfer rumours get official,, But as i stated earlier i think Calderon has finally realized it has become a STATE OF EMERGENCY,, have you heard the proverb,, "MONEY TALK BULLSHIT WALKS",,, well Real has the money to buy the players, the onlything about that is alot of the teams with the players Real Madrid wants knows the crisis Real Madrid is facial and i think they will Hold out and try to have a hard bargain,, because they know Real team is weak,, but the good thing about it is alot of those players would love to join a team like REAL MADRID..

I can probably see something being announced in the morning but it's getting too late for something to be announced at night. Hopefully Huntelaar can start training with us early. Now we sit and wait for Di Maria, though I still feel we also need a defender. There is something wrong, the man who is said to be the best fitness coach in the world is having such problems well then maybe it's time Di Salvo takes the boot. We only have 16 players and if Metz isn't fit soon then it won't be good. We can barely fill the team-sheet at the moment :?

Is he going to stay in Madrid during the winter working on his physio therapy or is he going back to Amsterdam until January 2nd? The more time he spends at Madrid the more he can integrate himself with Real.
