Real Madrid Sign Van Der Vaart & Cannavaro wants contract extension

 Van Der Vaart

Although Hamburg has officially refused Real Madrid's bid for Van Der Vaart, it has been confirmed to several Spanish newspapers that the Dutch man will soon join the team. A few days ago, Ramon Calderon, confirmed the news too and he said that Van Der Vaart would arrive for a fee in the region of €6 million.

One the other hand, the German club can do nothing about it as the Dutchman's contract expires next season and then he can go to any club, so it would be logical for them just to collect some cash now. Technically, Van Der Vaart is a good player, pretty much like Sneijder, as we saw him in the Euro, he is effective, he can scores goals from many angles, he is fast, and I hear he is like Beckham when it comes to discipline.

His arrival means, that Guti will spend most of his remaining life on the bench which I'd like very much since Guti performs phenomenally whenever he comes in. I'd say this is a good signing, we got him for a good price, and I'd also say this is better than getting Ronaldo at least for now.

Fabio Cannavaro says that he wants to extends his contract. This actually contradicts the fact that he wants to come back home to Napoli, but maybe he thinks that he would just retire after the World Cup with both Italy and Real Madrid.

"Of course without any problem (whether he would extend his contract)," he told El Mundo.

"Before talking to another team we will talk to Real.

"Here before matches there is laughter, music and joy.

"If you smile in Italy you run the risk of being accused of not being ready for the match."

Personally, I'd love to see Cannavaro for at least one more year, he is one of the best defenders on the planet and I believe that Real still need him right now. Speedy recovery Fabio!

Alright, thats about it.

More tomorrow

In my humble opinion, Van Der Vaart is way too better than Diego and more consistent too.

Maybe i don't know football. But i do know this Van Der Vaart is 25. Wesley Sniejer is 24 [about the same age], both are attacking midfielder and free kick specialist. To me a crazy signing what is really going on???. I am wondering if it is because Real Madrid has failed to sign C.Ronaldo at the moment they are resorting to anyone!!!!

No, I don't think it is because Real can't sign Ronaldo, it is because it is an opportunity to sign a player who has the potential to be one of the best players in the world. Thats how I see it

As a Celtic and REAL MADRID supporter a champions league match between the two would be the most special occasion, in which my allegiences to both clubs would make it hard for me to want either to win.
However, i have to say MADRID would crush celtic. Last season, Celtic were outclassed by a Barca side twice, that were beaten easily twice by REAL MADRID.
Good news though, Carlos Cueller is injured for Rangers champions league qualifier against Kaunus so they'll probably get beat =D !!!!!!!!

I dont think its the case that Madrid are just signing him because they cant sign Ronaldo. I think its more of the fact that they are realizing they can better the squad with reinforcement in different areas and not just one player. Van der Vart had a great Euro and is one of the better center mids in the world. Why not get him for such a price? Having him play along side Sneijder and have Guti on the bench is pretty good in my opinion. I still think they need to sell some players (Baptista, Saviola, Salgado) and sign a striker (Villa, Benzema) and maybe a central defender and we have a solid squad to compete in all the competitions.

This article clearly shows up what Real Madrid, its president and its fans are. A group of classless, tasteless, arrogant and ignorant pricks.
I have never seen any oter fansite publishing articles with headlines: player signs for us, without any official confirmation from anyone invloved.
And never seen a club president other than calderon keep on saying, x,y,z players will be signing for then without even making bids. And its not one or 2 players or once in a while, but he spouts this shit almost everyday of every transfer window and just changes the nae of the player involved.
