In football, what matters the most is the result. Some might argue a team should play very well and win. Some might say that you must win no matter how and tonight was a proof. Real did everything they could to win the game.
Juande Ramos started with Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Cannavaro, Heinze, Lass, Gago, Sneijder, Robben, Rau'l and Higuain.
Everyone before the match had been wondering if the resignation of Ramon Calderon would have had an impact on the team's performance, and initially, that seemed to be the case, however, Ramos managed to tweak his team and snatch the three points.
Osasuna dominated the first half, attacking well and not giving us the opportunity and space to pass the ball. There was strict control and moderation over Arjen Robben, which as a result, slowed down our attacking efforts.
Ramos scored a goal off a corner-kick but it was ruled offside.
Javad Nekounam scored for Osasuna from a header in the 20th minute. Real made a few chances, but they couldn't capitalize on them.
In the second half, Juande made a few chances. He sent in Huntelaar and Van der vaart to replace both Sneijder and Cannavaro respectively.
Three minutes later, came our first goal. Osasuna's goalkeeper failed to handle Ramos' long-range strike and I'm glad that he did. That goal was very essential for us as it allowed us to get back into the game.
In the 66th minute, Higuain added a second goal after a great effort from Robben.
To be fair, Alfonso Pérez Burrull was harsh on Osasuna as he didn't give them too "legitimate" penalties. Take a look:

However, this happens to everyone. Real have been unfairly treated by referees tons of times during their history. The key is always to fight to the end and to consider the referee as the opponent's "13th" player on the pitch.
Anyway, Arjen Robben added a third goal to finish it off. That was in the 96th minute!
As I said earlier, the most important thing is the "three points". Yes, Barca are still winning, but we must keep winning as well. Not only will that give us "hope" to win the league, but also have a positive effect on our Champions League performances.
Hala Madrid!
Real Madrid 3-1 Osasuna
20' Javad Nekounam
50' Sergio Ramos
62' Higuain

Hell yeah
2-1: Higuain scores!
YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My man Higi is in da house.
DDD
2-1 2-1
We look more likely to score a 3rd
We're playing 5 in defence, good way to protect the marginal lead.
No wait, sorry, Marcelo's playing as a left-winger
PENALTY! No wait, it's a freaking dive, the referee saves our ass for the second time
How did Marcelo miss that???
But we should be fine
Reply to TheAngelOfMadrid:
It was legitimate. The referee got it wrong and he shouldn't have sent off their lad.
Robben scores a third!
Should have been a penalty. (In the replay, looks like someone hit Ramos on the face? But not Juanfran - ref got that one horribly wrong.) The third goal puts it out of the question, fortunately. After three carbon copy misses... good to see the third goal go in!
Hala Madrid
Oh wow I feel so sorry for Osassuna...I cant believe the ref didnt give that penalty...and not only that but also sent him off for diving. Both him and the assistant had a clear view.
Other than that we played decently...not great...two goals we got in because their GK is crap. Huntelaar still seems to be adjusting, he didnt add anything and even made a couple of wrong passes. What I didnt quite understand was in wat position marcelo was put in... I saw him in the middle of the ground many times pushing forward when robben moved to the left. I guess juande is experimenting....but he shouldnt when we are only 2-1 up.
Reply to Adambader:
I know it was penalty, so was the tackle from Gago but that's why he saved us for the second time
Really poor finishing from us today, I don't know why it's so. Robben barely touched the ball for the 3rd goal whereas he should've just blast it. The performance was quite average but the result was good and that's what matters. Huntellar had another decent game but I think he needs to get a full 90 minutes and I guarantee you he will score. Hala Madrid!
hey you madridistas how much did the referees cost?
Wow! a fantastic comeback, but the refree saved our ass on that penalty, its a 150% penalty Pepe hit Nekounam in his foot,Marcelo missed his life chance,Robben was the man of the match i think,he assited in Higuain's goal, and added a late goal for himself,VDV played better than Snejider,an ipmortant win,but i am sad about Casillas,i wanted for him his 4th consective clean sheet!
Hala Madrid!
P.S: DAMN U HEINZE!
Reply to fofos:
Yeah I feel sorry for Osasuna too, especially after last week, and now this. The ref was crap.
Last week against Mallorca was definitely better, but hey, I'll take any win. Also, we missed three nearly identical shots from Robben, VDV and Marcelo that were pretty darn close. Huntelaar wasn't really productive, but give him time; he has a proven international record so he's not the problem. He'll adjust.
I think the idea is that Marcelo is a player who likes to hold the ball and go forward. Obviously not over the course of the whole game, but as an impact substitute in the last 10 minutes or so doing just that, he helped keep the ball upfield. After the penalty-that-should-have-been-given I don't think we really looked like conceding so you gotta say for Juande Ramos... it worked.
We got a win but we should play much better from the start.. there were some things that i was wondering during the game.. Heinze did not look good today and we need to start using Miguel Torres or Marcelo back there .. and also since Juande Ramos arrived he has played Marcelo as a left wing it looked like and he looked like he had no idea what he was doing he needs to play left back
Sorry, but can you upload the goals Adam? i only saw the second and third goal

yes we won
and we did better than Barcelona with osasuna so Barcelona fans can shut their mou***. Huntelaar was better than before and i hope next game against Deportivo he'll score , we are back despite the bad times we're passing in after the resignation of Calderon but The real REAL is back
Hala Madrid!
Yes,Madrid won
,but Barca is still the best
what are you talking about the ref was horrible
you didnt do better than barca it should have been a tie and you were home
in that game we were also playing against thier fans
comeon get your stuff right please

The refree or whatever,,we deserved this victory coz our wish was stronger!...Osa very good!
Hello guys, this is my first post on this forum, good thing our boys won tonight, and even though they didn't play well, they got the 3 points, and that's the most important thing right now
The ref only acted according to the rulebook, both time THE LINEMEN confirmed the player was diving, and the rules are clear about that, so cules, stop whining about it, you're on top of the league (btw, did you like the little gift your team got against mallorca???)
HALA MADRID!!!
I am upset I missed the match, the good thing we won.
Perfect expectation Adam.

It should have been a tie? how, lets say that penalty was counted,2-2,but our man ROBBEN scored his late goal in the 92nd minute so,a 3-2,u r just jealous coz we have that Fighting spirit and u dont.
P.S: Casillas was going to save that penalty, just like he did against Barca
Reply to Ad1gun:
ok idiot
first of all barca got handled by osasuna
and barca shouldve got like 3 of their players red carded for being little bitch ass cry babies
eto was pushing people and bitching like the little bitch with no class that he is
well pretty much the only one that wasnt wining in that game was messi
This was a strange game. First off this was the first time that we fielded the same team from a previous match. Even when Schuster was in charge he always added someone different whether it was because of an injury or just tweeking the team.
From the back Casillas was solid. made good saves except for the first goal. I think there was a push on Cannavaro for the Nekouman goal but the refereeing in this game was really bad. Fabio and Pepe were good I'm a bit confused why Cannavaro was taken out at the half. Sergio was really good even when he was shifted to the middle for the second half. Heinze was horrible he was lucky he was not sent off. He was throwing elbows in every aerial challenge he made. With Lass and Gago in the middle Marcelo would have complemented the left well. I don't get it why is Heinze playing?
The middle was awesome. Gago was spot on again. Lass is doing his job and he and Gago are cleaning up the middle well. These two are on the same page and I think we have found a really good partnership. I'm not sure what's up with Sneijder but he was anonymous the entire first half. Van der Vaart played much better and he even served the ball more accurately with the corners and dead balls. Adam you were right he should have started. Robben was kind of in and out of the game. When he came on though he looked dangerous. Maybe he needs a rest sometime soon. Don't want to over work him.
The front again Higuain was the man chasing down balls, causing the defenders head aches. Raul was also in and out of the game too. He had a few good chances but was in and out like I said. Huntelaar should have started this game. He is rusty and you could see that with some of his first touches. He needs more games under his belt to find form. He and Higuain should start the next few games so they can find some type of rhythm. Over all a B, -B performance from Madrid who were lucky on some calls from the ref. We were quite fortunate not to tie this match.
Reply to El-Mes-Cule:
I agree but the good times may not last. We were on a good run of form around this time last year. Congrats on the the win. Believe us we will only get better and we will give Barca everything we have in the return match at the Bernabeau.
Reply to Adambader:
Way cheaper than Ronaldo, too.
helmet_09: Cannavaro was taken out because we were a goal down. Huntelaar didn't add much though, I thought.
Heinze is really shaky! And Sneijder has been quite anonymous when he's played, I feel. VDV has performed better recently imho, and should start more often. I love the Gago-Diarra partnership too!
The service Raul's been getting has been very good, but it hasn't really resulted in goals although he's trying. I agree, maybe he should make way for Huntelaar, who needs match practice.
Reply to MadridistAli:
Yes Iker would do that for sure haha!!!Yes...
we will be a champion. barcelona is dead!!!!
Nevertheless,It was a win for the champion, and we rocks for sure!! but the was definitely something lacking about Real Madrid in that match.I don't want to talk about the penalty claims which should have been awarded for sure. But our man of the moment..Arjen robben. He was not involve much in that match and i think this contributed to our slightly poor performance.Do you think it was because the claims that our team over depended on Robben, so Juande wants to prove people wrong by not letting the man to have too much possession of the ball? or it was because the player himself? Barca can break all the records they want, i'm sure they wont be able to achieve what madrid has achieved before.Madrid..the absolute best club in the world!!
Reply to Faeez:
I think the reason behind Robben's performance last night was Osa themselves they did a great job marking him but he still managed to score 1 and set a piece for higuain and i dont think Ramos leashed him up it was all the marking, really hope it's not fatigue but dont you think hez too young for resting and skipping games for fatigue ?
is the rumor true about not signing any1 new this jan ? not even a winger ? we dont want want 2 be setting ducks relying on one winger cuz we all saw what happened last night after marking robben our team became a bet shaky in attacking, really do hope we make a RATIONAL signing not costing us a fortune , and Kaka's deal is insane if it happens i sure hope it wont !!! and dont we have have 3 players capable of doing his job already ( Sneijder - VDV - Guti) , i prefer ribery - benzema and Chilleni and i gurantee you guys they are cheaper than 120,000,000 Damn
Reply to joe007:

Reply to Maverick977:
We beat Sporting 7-1. Your point? It's still three points.
What happened to us? What happened to you guys last season?
I'm only looking forward now, not looking back. We can endlessly cook up bases to compare Real and Barcelona to make our own team look more favourable, but it's pointless. It's not going to change how proud we are of Madrid (and presumably, how proud you are of Barca) so why don't you enjoy your moment in the sun instead of coming here to gloat.
we are going to hav one of the best midfield pair in the world by the summer with lass and gago...they hav mad Potential.....we need to replace Heinze & Marcelo that Position is a real problem ....LOV MADRID
Reply to pablo:
Replace Heinze? yeah but Marcelo? nah i dont think so,he is still young only 20 years old,he has the potential to become the best left back in the world someday
Hopefully Wesley Sneijder steps his game up this weekend because he knows he can play much better than he has the last few games
Reply to Madridista4:
I think the recent dip in form from Sneijder is because Juande's tactics. We are essentially playing a 4-2-2-2 with Gago and Lass in front of the defenders and Sneijder and Robben on the wings. Sneijder usually plays behind the forwards so he was to adjust to playing on the wing. I feel if Marcelo would play we can fill his position with either Gago and Lass and Sneider can drift into the middle. I want to see a 4-5-1 with Huntelaar up top and Higuain as a recesed attacking midfielder. I think this will suit Sneijder better. But as much as I like Wesly, Van der Vaart is a more versatile player and he is showing this more and more when he comes on as a sub.
Reply to helmet_09:
yeah because he is not a left winger i know i understand .. i would like Sneijder and Van Der Vaart to play together but Juandes formation uses 2 holding midfielders and i respect that because it has been getting us the results but at the same time when its not going good for Sneijder we all know that Van Der Vaart is a great player and will come in a do a good job whenever.. i like Van Der Vaart alot i believe we need to keep him
I also just read on goal.com that Real Madrid have accepted an offer from portsmouth for Javier Saviola but he himself has rejected the move..
Reply to Madridista4:
Good. Saviola needs to go to Italian, Spnanish or Argentinian side to regain his form. He is a good player. It's a shame he sits on the benc week after week. I also heard that Kaka deal collapsed. Silvo allegedly called the deal off. Good for Kaka. Money is not everything however there is no way Real can place a bid like Man City did so Kaka is staying put for right now. Shame really, i would love to see him in the white jersey.

Scroll up and check who started gloating...You can definitely gloat abt ur team, but why do you have to put other teams down just to defend ur own team??? and when belittling comments like that are made, same kind of replies can be expected as well...
Adios
Yess.. I definitely agree the midfield pairing between Gago and Lass and looking good. And i hope they are going to get better because we have tougher challenges ahead. And as far as winter transfer is concern, i would like to see a winger added to the squad as we need to improve in that part of our play. we don't have a good AM(in form AM) so we have to depend on our wingers to launch attacks. And need to note here, that our Robben is quite easy to get injured. Although when he plays, he will penetrate even the best defense in the world.Haha. I cant call the names of any good wingers for madrid (I'm sure all of you have loads of them). Oh yeah, a winger which doesn't cost us ridiculously amount of money.
Reply to Faeez:
yeah i agree that we still need a cheap winger maybe as we reported before little money plus Saviola for the winger.. but if we do sell Saviola looks like Huntelaar will not get choosen for CL so that will leave us with only 2 strikers which are Raul and Higuain but with that said we can always play 1 striker and then have VDV play a supporting role in which he is very good at
Reply to Maverick977:
Fair enough. You seem like a nice guy so I won't argue. Adeu.
helmet09: I agree about Sneijder being played on the wing. However I recall that with the Netherlands in Euro 2008 he was deployed on the right and did well in the group stages - maybe that's a possibility? If it's true we're not buying any more players this January, well - Juande Ramos must have something in mind. VDV did okay on the left, we know Marcelo can fill that position (there's Drenthe too but...) so maybe he just doesn't want to overload the team now. I mean we keep pointing out that VDV and Sneijder and Guti all play the same position, but if VDV can fill in adequately on the left for now, then better for him to play there than for us to bring in another player and have VDV, Sneijder and Guti compete for a spot Juande Ramos seems to have worked around completely.
Reply to phantompong:
In the Euros Van Basten gave Sneijder an open role he kept on cutting in from the right when Gio Van B. would come up. I think Sneijder can do the same with Marcelo comes up to attack. I really want to see Huntelaar play up top by himself. and use a five man midfield like the dutch did in the Euro. I think it may work. I think Sneijder needs to calm down and just play normally. I think he is just trying to hard to make a mark.
I agree about the 4-5-1 formation....I think the midfield should be this way
Boluda has said there will be no more signings this month
(so we can forget about the winger)
---------gago------Lass
Robben------Sneijder------VDV
-----------Raul/Higuain/Huntelaar
(And this could be more useful if Real choose Lass for the champions league)
Besides...I've got some bad news

I think sneijder will be more effective out wide than van der vaart. out of the two sneijder is the more versatile one and does more running. i think it will take him till februaury to get back to his best. Van der vaart is the most talented out of the two but at the moment sneijder is more effective and versatile. i think under juande van der vaart can become a better player all round. we should definetly keep him but we really need a new winger and one that will be very dangerous to any team in the world. i.e. ribery.
hey guys it looks that fergie wants to sing anotnio valencia, and that means the end for nani do you think he's a good signing for us, for me nani is a great dribler and winger as ronaldo and he's too young 22 y.o

Reply to Daniel:
Maybe it'll turn out to be good news. Suggests to me instead that they will wait till the end of the season, then move in on a winger who's with one of the CL/UEFA Cup clubs... and you know what that means
(no Ronaldo pls.)
Boluda has also said what we've all been thinking: the CL registration fiasco is a disgrace, and "if this had happened at my company I would have sacked the person responsible." Pedja, are you listening?
Sadly Boluda has said that he will not stand during the July elections, which looks to me to pave the way back for Perez. I'm not keen on that, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.
I think we can forget about Ribery.

Hey guys !!!! congrats !!!
sometimes in football, what matter is the result . Yes, but u're situation is quite different.
I don't know why refrees keep standin beside R;madrid ?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, to be fair, Ossasuna was great at u rhome guys and they were the first to scaore .
It's only the refree who made u win . Believe it or not . I got Madrid fans' friends and they admited that ossasuna should have won the game .
That refree was appointed to supervise Barc vs Espangol Tomorrow but he was suddenly but some1 else which means he made terrible mistakes .
Two penalties + Red card ????? !!!!!!!!
Boluda has revealed that they have appelaed to TAS to register both Huntelaar and Diarra for the CL and are awaiting an answer in the next few days.. i just hope both are allowed to play because we need both of them alot
Reply to Itri83:
It's not uncommon for referees who have performed badly to be removed from subsequent games. I know Real Madrid have gotten the benefits of a lot of referees recently, and as a Madridista it makes me more than uncomfortable sometimes.
I would not say that Osasuna would have won the game. Perhaps it might have been a draw, but we did also have a number of near misses. You cannot say that "if" the penalties had been given Osasuna would have scored two more, or that Real Madrid would not have responded differently had we gone two down, or taken one of those three chances that flashed just wide of the far post.
Can I point to referee's mistakes that have had far greater impact on the outcome of the game/tournament: Spain-S Korea in WC 2002, England-Portugal in Euro 2004, Australia-Italy in WC 2006, Austria-Poland in Euro 2008. It happens. It's unfortunate, and as a fan of football it's equally frustrating whether it happens for or against my team. But when decisions start going against Real Madrid, it would be nice if you dropped in here to admit that "it's only the referee who made you lose" (and don't tell me it will never happen, because it will).
Some sweet news....Robinho has left City to go to his family without informing anyone....it's such a good thing he's left
what a baby
he is probably thinking right now why has he left Real Madrid and crying about it...
I don't feel sorry about Robinho. he made his own decision and he can enjoy in it...
Hey you all know that i am a big fan of Robinho,he is the best player in my opinion, but i am still sad because he left Real Madrid
,anyway that was history, here some news i got at Real Madrid official website about Marcelo and his new role at Centre left midfield, and i think he did well,it was the first time for me to know that Marcelo was playing at that place with Brazil and his first club Fluminense

Some breaking news...Beckham said that Kaka rejected Man City because he wants to sign for Real madrid next June...interesting
It looks like Juande Ramos prefers Marcelo to play as a left midfielder and Marcelo said that he is comfortable in that positon because he has played it before in his previous club but this is the same that happend to Drenthe because he was a left back and now a winger

Thanks adam i mean it scare the dhit out of me i mean i would love kaka and i would rather pay 100 mil rather than 80 and sergio ramos. What doe you guys think
Reply to Madridista4:
I just don't get it. How Drenthe is supposed to be a left-back? I mean, I think If he just improves on some aspects such as passing, crossing and dribbling, he'll definitely perform better as winger than as a left-back. His pace is essential and one of the qualities I like about him, but as I said many times, he lacks those basic skills.
Reply to joe007:
No worries. I have asked OleOle for the "edit comments" function many times and they just keep saying "Workin' on it".
Reply to felipe:
I REALLY hope it's bullshit. Ramos is a truly world-class right back and there aren't many in the game right now. He looks prepared to commit his career to Real Madrid, and he's only going on 23! We are VERY privileged to have him, and I really hope whoever comes in has the sense to see that.
How many players were nominated for the 2008 Ballon d'Or? Of those, how many were defenders, and how many right backs? I'll tell you: 30, three (Pepe and Vidic being the other two) and one.
You know - we need to get this guy down on a long-term contract. Rumours of him going to Man Utd, Chelsea, AC Milan - can we just get him to commit and not have to put up with these rumours every transfer window? As a Madridista, it makes me feel very unsettled.
On the upside - I seriously don't think that as long as Juande Ramos is manager, Sergio Ramos will leave. He's a key part of Juande's formation, especially with Robben down the right, and in just six games he's already played Sergio Ramos across the entire back four. It's clear he appreciates Sergio's versatility.
How long Juande Ramos stays as manager, though, is anyone's guess. Going by the work he's done here so far, I hope he stays a long, long time.
I also REALLY hope this summer doesn't produce a protracted Kaka transfer saga that includes a Sergio Ramos exchange. That would make me feel very sick.
Reply to phantompong:
Let's hope that our next or current president will tie him down with a life-time contract. Ahhh, I wish I was the president......
I know dont think if florentino comes he would do that exchange because in 2005 it cost him almost 30 million euros to get him. The more likely scenario is just paying 100 million for kaka
Also guys the committe would not vote for florentino if he would propose this Sergio kaka exchange because they would see that he is going to destroy the squad just like he did in his first time as president.
Reply to felipe:
Although Kaka is not at his prime at the moment, he'd still be a good signing. But the problem is the price. 164m dollars that Man City offered him is a lot of money. It is exaggeration -- and I'm glad that this deal didn't go through, other wise there would have been imbalance in the football market.
The bottom line is, we shouldn't pay more than 60m euros for either Kaka or Ronaldo. We would instead use that vast amount of money to buy players such as Ribery, Benzmea and De Maria.
Bottom line is if Florentino sells ramos for kaka i will personally go to madrid and shit on him.
Reply to Itri83:
Look, it is irrelevant whether they scored first or not. This is football, the one who wins is who scores more whether that early in the match or late in the injury time.
Yes, you are right. The referee was unfair to Osasuna, but guess what? That has happened to us tons of times and we whined about it. It has happened to Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and to every single team on the planet. Heck, it has happened to my 5-side team.
Having said that, we DESERVED to win because we scored three goals. We worked hard in the second half and that's why I said we deserved to win. The referee just didn't give the three points away, without us working for them.

I just in the last few minutes read on Sky sports that Guillem Balague is convinced in that florentino is going to use kaka for him to get elected. But what seems weird here is that it states that Florentino thinks he can pull it out with 80 million euros and it does not say anything about segio ramos so i dont know how he can get him for less without using sergio.
Reply to felipe:
well as of right now the only person to contact Boluda and express interest in the presidency poistion has been juan villalonga .. but i am sure that perez will make his interest known soon too
Reply to felipe:
Kaka has always said that Real Madrid would be one of his top choices if he decides to leave Milan. I think as long as we have Champions League football and maybe even 60mil he may come to Madrid. We have a good realationship with Galliani and Milan so if we open negotiations the right way and not through the media maybe we can get him. I personally would not sell Ramos. He is the future and a potential life time player for Madrid.
I just feel like like Uefa need to allow us to register both Diarra and Huntelaar.. i know there are rules but remember when liverpool finished 5th in epl and they were the defending cl champions and uefa bended the rules for them to play in the cl and not one of the top 4 teams .. so i believe we need a fair chance too all we are asking is to register one more player.. i mean the rule does not make sense because uefa cup is a different competition.. its not like they play in the CL and their teams dropped down to uefa.. so hopefully uefa decides to let us use both
Does it not strike any future President of Real Madrid that offering the likes of Arjen Robben, Sergio Ramos, Gonzalo Higuain, Pepe and Fernando Gago long-term contracts is far more likely to get him elected than an impossible and highly risky promise like bringing Kaka or Fabregas to Real Madrid? These are young players who have proven their worth at the Bernabeu with room still for improvement, are not (or no longer) burdened by an exorbitant tranfer fee, and who right now are heavily associated to Madrid as players with the potential to become Madrid legends.

Well said mate
After beckham stating that Kaka WILL play for real madrid in the near future,Emerson has come out and said basically the same thing...but he also included Pato too...this is getting confusing haha
Luis Suarez...21 years..a winger from Ajax..said his dream..RealMadrid!!!..the uruguayanos were always something special..
Reply to Daniel:
You know, I made my original post out of a sort of frustration, but now that I think about it, I'm really liking the idea. Is there any way Madridistas could get this word to the club or something - "what Madridistas really want - HINT: NOT RONALDO, KAKA, FABREGAS OR PATO". I mean, it's true isn't it - I'd rather see the current Madrid team grow into legends, especially since so many are so young *and* already seem so committed to Madrid, than buy legends into the team. If I had a vote and a President campaigned on that promise, I'd definitely vote for that guy.

I totally agree....we don't need them...and that is what scares me about Perez....that he will probably just forget the talent we have in the current squad and simply buy big names...If I were Real I'd just buy a winger and bring back garay and that's it...no attackers and no attacking/central midfielders....PLEASE...we don't need them.
I'd just buy Ribery in the summer
