Real Madrid - Sporting CP
UPDATE: Real play Sporting Lisboa tomorrow night at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium for the Bernabeu Trophy.
Tickets are sold for as low as 6 euros, club members get free tickets. The squad list has not been announced yet, but it won't include Robinho according to Spanish newspapers as he is leaving for England.
Morning everyone,
It looks like that Chelsea have finally reached an agreement over Robinho. The player is set to travel to
London tomorrow to put pen on paper and sign a five year contract with Cheliski after they, reportedly, paid Real Madrid €40m.
I have always been a fan of Robinho and defended his case. But after he recently revealed his desire to leave, I just moved on, because thats what he wants. Still, it is partly the club's fault for using him as a make-weight in Ronaldo's deal, forcing him to skip the Olympics and refusing to improve his salary. Well, actually, they offered him €5m this week but he said no, so be it.
So since Robinho is leaving, a new player should be coming, and that should happen very soon because we don't have time. Yesterday, Real Madrid approached Valencia with a €47m bid for Villa and they said no. This morning, according to Marca, Real sent another Fax but this time with €52 which should be enough to snatch the player given the fact that Valencia are desperately looking for funds.
Another solution for them, though, is to offload Morienties and use the funds to improve Villa's contract. I can see that as an option, but I believe that Villa would go for us, because he wants to win titles. I'm not saying that Valencia can't win titles this year, but it is pretty difficult for them right now.
We will see how this goes... hopefully, we will see Villa in that awesome white jersey.
Well, thaats about it for today. Should I find something interesting I will make sure to update this post. Please use this space to discuss everything around transfers and Real stuff until I finish my preview of Real's next game.
Hala Madrid!

"Higuain is still young.. and has the potential to be a great striker" not signing. OleOle should let us edit the comments!!!!
Higuain is proving the price that we paid for him. All he needs is more playing time to harness his skills. As for Robinho I wish him the best and I'm sure he and Deco will bring some flair to the EPL. As for Robinho's replacement I can only think of two players and that is Capel of Sevilla and Quaresma of Porto. As for a striker who knows i think we are following a young Columbian from River Plate I think his name is Falcao. Who else besides Villa do you think will come? We have to keep in mind that he may have to come off the bench.

I saw Di Maria throughout the Olympics and he impressed. He moved up and down the right flank for Argentina. He would be a good buy.

Can he play as a striker as well as a winger in Robinho's or Robben place? Villa can
Villa would be a good signing, he proved himself at Valencia, and he also did a great/fantastic job for Spain in the Euros. But I don't know if he would fit in with the rest of the squad. And by the way you are forgetting about Saviola, who is not a player not to be taken seriously. As you all said, Higuain is young, and learning, and he's got great potential; and Raul and Ruud are two very important players for the squad. Even if we don't bring Villa, I think the attack has enough depth and the extra place could be filled in by a youngster. (As in, remember Raul, Guti Portillo, Soldado?) Or we could buy Fredy Adu, or Rafael Sobis who would have no problem being substitutes for the other guys, and they wouldn't cost us that much.

I think Villa would perfectly fit into the squad. He is professional, not a trouble maker, friendly and Spanish too and thats a big plus.
He has already been a teammate of Casillas, Ramos, De La Red and Rau'l. I truly believe he is the best candidate right now.
As for Saviola, he is a good player. He came here hoping to find a place in the starting eleven and I blame Schuster because he sometimes over-depended on Rau'l. Whenever Saviola came off the bench he scored. If he doesn't leave, that won't be bad for us but I just hope that he gets more chances, I'm sure he knows how to use them.

Di Maria is an all out winger and can play behind main strikers. I hope Saviola stays. I think he has a good chance of making the squad with Robinho and Soldado gone.

Talking about Robinho… You were right when you said that it is partially club’s fault and we all know why. That famous Ronaldo’s deal, then Olympics, salary… Calderon is… don’t want to talk about him now but let me put it this way - Not all his talking and decisions are the smart ones…
Robinho is great player, one of the best in the world. Losing him is not the good thing but Madridistas should be proud that Real Madrid doesn’t depend on one player like some teams does ( read Manchester ). Real has quality squad, tim spirit like never in the past decade, I dare to say, and if he wants to go OK, we should wish him good luck and say “thank you for all that you gave to us in the past 3 years”, but the truth is - he could end this saga differently. Going in public and saying what he said… it’s not the best way. “It isn't because of money, it is simply because my personal aim is to be the best player in the world and that isn't going to be possible with Real.” – BULLSHET. Where he can be the best player in the world and with wich club if not with the best club in the world?
Once before somebody said: “What’s done is done and cannot be undone – or can it ...”, if can there is very little time left. 5 days and counting… So what are the options and what are the best solutions?
Real shows interest for:
Real shows interest for:
David Villa (striker, also can play behind striker or as a winger)
It would be grate signing. His quality is enormus and indisputable. He is in the best years (27) and when you read his statistics I know that you imagine him in that “amazing white jersey”. I don’t blame you, so do I.
Statistics:
In the 2005-06 season, he scored 25 goals in 35 league matches for Valencia, to finish 1 goal behind the league's top scorer Samuel Eto'o of Barcelona.
Villa's form continued into the 2006–07 season, with the striker forming a prolific partnership up front with former Real Madrid star Fernando Morientes. Together, Villa and Morientes netted around 40 goals in all competitions, and also ousted Raúl González from the Spanish national squad.
On his 100th league appearance for Valencia, Villa scored a hat-trick against Levante; his 54th, 55th and 56th league goals for the club. Another two goals on the final day of the season against Atletico Madrid meant he finished the season with 18 league goals from 27 games.
Villa provided crucial goals for Spain in the group stages. At his first match in the Euro, Villa scored the only hat-trick of the tournament in the Spaniards' first match against Russia in Innsbruck on the 10th June, scoring in the 20th, 44th, and 75th minutes which ended in a 4-1 victory for the Spanish team. Villa was also part of the play that resulted in the fourth goal.[2] In the following game, against Sweden, on the 14th of June, Villa scored a goal in the 92nd minute and dislocated his finger in the celebration, but earned the Spaniards a 2-1 victory. He led the Euro 2008 Top Scorers chart with 4 goals. Villa also scored Spain's first penalty in their 4-2 quarter final penalty shoot out win against Italy in Vienna. Villa started Spain's semi-final win against Russia, however he was substituted in the first half after picking up an injury, one which ruled him out of the Euro 2008 final. Though absent from the final Villa ended as the top-scorer of the tournament, winning the golden boot and a place in the Euro 2008 Team of the Tournament.
Diego Capel (left winger)
Anather player with great potential. Born 1988, left-footed with main traits: pace, acceleration, and on-the-ball skills. + he scored against Barca so I would give him an extra million just for that. His buy out clause is around 16 ml.
Santi Cazorla (attacking midfielder or winger)
Also good player. Born 1984, Cazorla had proven himself (34 matches with 5 goals) during the 2006-07 season. In 2007-08 he was one of the crucial players for Villareal as he scored 5 goals and provided numberless assists. He also played significant role on Euro 2008. Buy out clause is around 16 mil.
Big plus for signing one of this this 3 players is that they are Spaniard, especially when we know about the new UEFA rules, concerning “homegrown players”.
Di Maria (winger)
Great young player ( born 1988 ) with huge potential but I think that Benfika made it clear that there is no selling. His termination clause is therefore 30 mil. The newspaper "Record" says that the termination clause of 30 mil was last July 15 and that the leadership of the Benfica could require up to 50 million by the departure of Argentine international. He played very good at the Olympics and “ scored the game-winner, a glorious chip over the keeper from the edge of the area, in the 57th minute of Argentina's 1-0 victory against Nigeria to capture their second straight Olympic Gold Medal in the final game of the Olympic tournament.”
So, if you ask me would it be good signing for us, I would say yes, it would be GREAT signing.
Klaas Jan Huntelaar (striker)
Great young player from Dutch football school. His stat is impressive also, just take a look: 1. He is the all-time highest goal-scorer for the Netherlands U21 squad with 18 goals in 22 matches.
2. In domestic football he was Eredivisie's top scorer in the 2005–06 season with 33 goals in 31 games.
3. He also became the top scorer in the 2007–08 season with 33 goals in 34 appearances.
Many big clubs doesn’t hide there interest in signing Klaas, but as he said that he would jump at the chance to join Real Madrid after hearing a lot about the club while on international duty at Euro 2008 my opinion is thar Real should give him that chance for jump.
Quaresma and Fabregas are anather two players who were present in Real transfer rumors this summer, but as there are no official offers for them I think we should forget about them, at least for this summer.
Mateo Musacchio is almost closed deal as I heard…
So, afther this long writing I can say that my wishes are Villa, Cazorla and Di Maria in first package, but if Villa’s deal can’t be closed we could go for Klaas, Di Maria and Capel or Cazorla as the second. First package or second, the sure thing is that Real would be much stronger and that these signings would be great additional base for future succsess.

I would go for Villa and Cazorla, Di Maria is still unproven while Cazorla is a Spanish International and a star in the La liga. As for Villa, well, him Torres and Zlatan, the biggest strikers in the world defenders crumble when they come near them and these players are good wherever they play. I also like Capel but his talent needs playing time and he won't get much at Real, and get rid of the rabbit if we get another striker, there are too many forward minded players :S If we do sign all those players that you have mentioned only two well be kept and the rest will be loaned out so that won't help much but PLEASE, OH PLEASE bring Garay back, we can't rely on a 35 year old and a near 30 year old to play our games, we need young raging talented blood, Garay is another Ramos, actually he's done more for Racing than what Ramos did for Sevilla. GoodBye Robinho, I hope you realise you made the biggtest mistake ever moving to Chelski where they plan to keep you as backup to who....Joe Cole, AHAHAHAHA, what a money hungry dolt, you'll never be what you want, face it, the likes of Robben are called players, ones who get back up if they fall not cry for more money and give useless performances, stay and apologize while you can because all your dreams of trophies and the CL you will not achieve at Chelsea as long as there's Man Utd, I just heard that Roman has given a £30m bid and said take it or leave it. F*&^ Robinho (I won't say it completely unless it's offcial because i've always loved him), Ofcourse Fuck Chelsea, oh and Hala Madrid!

Thanks for the write up. I just don't agree that we should sign more than one player right now. We have enough and we shouldn't complicate things. My option would still be Villa or Capel.
Cazorla has extended his contract with Villarreal

Maybe you are right but knowing that Baptista has left, Robinho is almost in England, Saviola also. Snijder is off for three months. And as Joseph said:"If Van Goal or Raul are injured Real have a serious problem. Also both Raul and VanGoal are getting older." Higuain is getibg better and better, it is true, Robben will be great this year I feel it but saying what I have said previously I think that we could use 2 or even 3 signings. First - striker, David Villa or Klaas if Villa's deal can't be done. This is crucial and must be done. Second thing one winger Cazorla, Di Maria or Capel. I said that signing of even three players would be good and I said why but I can add one reason more - becouse Raul and Ruud are getting older and players like Di Maria or Capel are extremly young and wouldn't mind to wait for there chance. They are the futur of the world's football, Real should take advantage of that and as for them, coming to play for Real is one time opportunity.
By the way, I saw today headlines:" David Villa had reached an agreement with Valencia and will continue wearing the elastic ché until 2014." and "Cazorla renews with Villarreal" so if it's true and I believe it is, Klaas nad/or Capel are getting nearer.
We will do the only thing that we can, wait and hope for some quality signings.

Villa is reportedly coming with Real possibly giving them either Javi Garcia or Saviola, though Valencia want De La Red.
I would go for Garcia but I would agree with HalaMadrid about Garay. Real must find the solution to settle him at Bernabeu for this season. I also heard that Valencia wants Higuain and/or De La Red didn't hear about Saviola or Garcia inquiry.
As I said, we will wait and see.

I thought there was a clause that said Real could pay a penalty of about 1 million to bring him back from Racing. Honestly it would be a boost to have Villa, but we do have Saviola if Raul and Ruud get injured. I would rather have Santi or Capel and they are about 25 million cheaper.

Yes, but what is one million comparing to 400 millions that Real have avaliable for this summer transfers. I would go for that one mill and have Garay for this season.

This Robinho case unfortunately could not ended in a different way!
Ronaldo is just an excuse now is that visible!
Scolary made it,all this is his creation!
But why he(Robi) lost his mind I don,t know, now I think he has always been such a non-defined person!
Thank You Robinho for everything You have done and have not done for us and thank You for everything You could do but You do not want to do!
Why keeping a player who lost the faith in our club and admitted it?He found his future in Chelsea...ok!
Go now, and don,t look back,You are a ....what You are and big dissapointing for me,my mistake!
I don,t think Calderon has made one single mistake!
He and Mijatovic are big leaders and creators of new
RealMadrid after so many years!Vamos

Villa's buyout clause must be much more than before. So looks like we will probably only sign one more player before the close of the transfer window. Who will it be?
Since we play Sporting we may see some one that may interest us. Moutinho? Nah but maybe?

Have no idea mate. It seems that we are losing on every player we target. Today reports suggest we are still after Diego, Capelo and Huentelaar.
