What is next: sucking Arabs' .......%$
I was just playing PES 2008 on my Playstation and I beat Barcelona 3-1 At the Cam Nou. The difficulty level was "Campione" (in English: champion) and it is the most difficult level in which the opposing team would really kick your ass.
I lined up Saviola and Nistelrooy in attack, while Robben and Drenthe on the wings. They were awesome!
It just that this match got me thinking about who would replace Robinho from the existing team? I think If Schuster playes Robben on the left where he is probably more comfortable, we could use both Saviola and Higuain on the right.
Saviola is a talented player. He is fast, smart and has the experience. I think he could play as a winger on the right or on the left according to his preference. I don't remember, but I'm sure I once saw him (hmm, either with Barcelona or Sevilla) playing on either wings.
In addition to Saviola, we could also use Higuain. Capello tried that already and he wasn't bad. He seems to be comfortable on the right and he could be a replacement for Robinho.
Drenthe as well can replace Robinho. I really do believe in this lad. He is just so talented, and what I really like about him is that he is super fast. One thing that he probably lacks is ball control especially in front of goal. If he could focus on that and improve in that aspect, he would be an awesome player.
I know that this might seem little odd (the theory based on my playstation game) but it was just an inspiration for me to think about this issue.
I know that we have Van Der Vaart who is definitely the replacement for Robinho but what if he gets injured? Or what if Robben gets injured (God forbid that, we need the dude)? Schuster would be in a fucking problem!
Calderon have from now until January to tie up an effective replacement. Whether that would be Capel, Diego, Villa or whoever that would be, someone needs to be brought in, because with this hole in our squad, the Champions League would be pretty difficult to snatch.
Anyway, I have recently read an interview with Miguel Torres in which he talked about his career at Real Madrid. He has been at the club for 14 years, can you believe it? He says he joined when he was about eight I guess and has since then been a Madridista.
He admitted that it was Capello who brought him to the scene. He said, hadn't been Capello, he would have been playing for Castilla or a first-division crappy team, but what is shocking to me is that he only earns $30,000! Oh c'mon! For Godsake, Calderon, is this a salary? He is a professional footballer!
I believe he deserves a high raise in his salary. Nevertheless, he says he is happy at Madrid and says he will not allow his agent (who happens to be his uncle) to act like Robinho's and be a pimp, you know that sorta of guy.
Hala Madrid!

Van der vaart cant play as a wing (either right or left).he is an attacking midfielder.Higuain isnt a true striker, maybe a forward. So i still think we need a striker.
True. My bad. He is a Zidane kind of player. :p
A winger more than a striker i say, though. An explosive footballer, with a lot of creativity.
hmmm..Drenthe played on the right last game and was a disaster. Immediately Robben shifted to the left when Drenthe came in. Higuan was on the left all game where his position is right. I don't know why Schuster did this.
I beleive Drenthe should be on the left and Robben on the right. Van Der Vaart nor Sneijder are wingers and as I always said we have no wingers except Robben / Drenthe. So yes we are in deep shit and I hope we sign some quality players. Also I have no faith for CL since most probably if we get any player probably would have played with his former team in the CL so he won't be elgible. Provided we have no injuries maybe we can make it with the current squad but I have big doubts. Calderon / Mitazobbi screwed everything this summer - and I am bit angry
Torres is a good player. Capello gave him a chance and he delivered. I think he deserves a raise. He is loyal and I think he may be the future of the club along side De La Red, Javi, Marcelo, Gago, and Higuain. I can see Drenthe as a natural replacement for Robinho. He is fast all he needs is more playing time and better ball work. I think the Netherlands U21 use him on the right. Im not sure though. Sneider can also play on the wings. Van Der Vart is more effective behind the strikers. Saviola can also play in the wings like he did with Sevilla. I don't think we are desperate for a winger I think we need a striker more, but we will see this winter transfer window.

Why would they sell Drenthe?I have not heard anything about that!
Alright this isn't really about the article so much as it is about this whole website. I have been visiting this site since this kid posted on my regular football forum, SoccerFansNetwork.com, and when the website was RealMadridClub.co.nr or something along those lines. I must say that I am a little disappointing in what this website has become. Back then there were rarely ever any typos in the titles or articles and what really appalls me is the language that is now being used in the articles such as "WTF?" and "Schuster would be in a fucking problem!". This is very unprofessional and doesn't fit in well with the very professional look that this website has offered me, the reader, for a very good amount of time. I just wanted to let you know that you have let me, the reader, down with this website and I really hope that you do something in the near future to tidy up the place! Also this is incorrect: Rau'l, and it bothers me very much. Please use a spell check before posting articles too! Thanks for reading RealMadrid-Talk!

True I think I was a member on your board but that was a long time ago I guess. The site has undergone many changes and I changed the name to RealmadridTalk after I owned the site (the old domain was owned by a friend of mine). It has since then been a "blog" more than a normal website.
As for this article or my language, alright, I wrote this at 01:21 AM. I had been playing with my playstation for over three or four hours and so I was not in a good condition to write an article but I was just inspired and I wrote it. I think it is okay to express our feelings with words that I used here, but I understand your point. This a blog not a newspaper and It is common to find such words on blogs. However, I think I have been over-using them lately, for one reason, both Calderon and Schuster have frustrated me a lot this summer so I had to let it go in a very informal way.
As for Rau'l, I think I have never never offended him personally. I might have said he sucked once or twice but that was not an offense. I just said what I thought about him from a fan perspective.
The typos, strange, I spotted them earlier and I fixed everything but it seems that I didn't click the update button so thanks for letting me know I'm going to edit this post again.
One more thing, I'm a blogger by profession so I know about typos, type of language, understanding readers and handling criticism.
btw, thanks for calling me kid.

Huh!? We're all friends here, there's nothing wrong with a little swearing, that's just being goody-goody and spell-check, now that's just strange, there's nothing wrong with typing mistakes, one can still understand. I think you're being harsh, RMTalk is one of the best blogs on Real Madrid there is. Hala Madrid!
In my opinion we should play a 5-2-1-2 formation like the one we played during the 99/00 champions league campaign.
If you recall the team usually lined-up something like this:
Casillas
Salgado Karanka Helguera Campo R. Carlos
McManaman Redondo
Raul
Morientes Anelka
While that seemed defensive in theory, in practice it made us exciting to watch and successful. Having three men playing in central defence allowed The full backs(Salgado & Carlos) to push forward with less caution on the wings. It also allowed Mcmanaman and Redondo to play with more freedom as well. At the moment with the players we have i feel this would be suitable so i'm suggesting Schuster lines the team up like this:
Casillas
S. Ramos Pepe Cannavaro Heinze Marcelo
Gago Sneijder
Van Der Vaart
Raul/Saviola Van Nistelrooy
While some may feel Robben should get a start i have to say from watching him in the premiership and Holland as well as his REAL MADRID performances he is a sprinter not a marathon man. He is more effective playing only 45 minutes or less. He would be an ideal sub if things aren't going our way. ditto Higuian.
I really think we would have a lot of success with this formation.
HALA MADRID!!!

It's a good theory. Ramos and Marcelo would bomb the side lines and Sneider would provide the balls and Gago would pick them up. Judging from your choice of players a 5-1-2-2 would work better partnering Van Der Vaart and Sneider behind the strikers while either Gago or Diarra dissrupt the midfield. I think it could work. What makes this more practical is that if we either need to kill a game or step it up it will be easy to swtich formations.
I think Drenthe cannot be relied upon to suddenly change into a wonder kid this season atleast. He doesnt have a good footballing brain though has some skills and is good on the ball.
Sometimes he just tries for too much which can cost a lot if your playing in a derby or something and the score is tied or even worse.
I think the best option would be to just live with it till Jan and then by a mid- priced winger, pure winger, someone like Capel or Joaquin (though he may cost a lot) to add some juice to our flanks. I think Robben would be flat in most of the games this season cuz he just aint mentally strong enough.
I think we need to add some pace, some real fast pure old fashioned pace. Robinho had pace and now he aint in Real Madrid. Man I wish Messi goes to Inter Milan so that Real Madrid can have a crack at him in future.

I can agree with most of what you say but if Sneijder's back then what's the argument, we play the same formation we played the second-half of last season WITHOUT Robinho and to be honest we played better without him. We will get more than one player in January, I just know it, it's pretty obvious since Schuster is furious and the club wanting to save for Ronaldo, we need atleast two players, a winger and a natural striker, maybe Huntelaar, Palacio, Fabiano, someone who has an eye for goal. A defender would be good also but Garay should be called back because our defense needs good cover, not the likes of Salgado. And how can you say Robben ain't mentally strong, physically, no he's not but mentally he's oe of the best, everyone knows that, even Real Madrid haters would agree he is one of the best but his glass body pulls him back. Every match he plays in he destroys the opposition, even in the last game, they needed three people to keep him at bay and still he would manage to move through. Robben, in my opnion, is one of our five current best players, skill-wise along with Casillas, Ramos, Sneijder and VDV. Hala Madrid!
I think one of our best players is on the bench; Bernd Schuster!I hope he will prove the class! When I look in the past and see his Getafe,I hope he will do great things here in the future!

I think we can still try and pry Messi away from Barca. It sould be difficult and we would have to pay a ridiculous amount or let him run out his contract. I agree that Drenthe cannot suddenly change overnight I think we should have loaned him out for a season so he can get some playing time.

No, I think it is impossible to sign Messi from Barcelona. They brought him when he was a little kid, cured him and made him the player he is today. And If he was to leave, then he would probably go to any club except Real Madrid.
Additionally, his buy-out clause is a lot of money, maybe in the region of 120m euros.
No Messi ,no chance! He is not a player for RealMadrid!
However he brilliant is,I would not ask him to join us!
And he would not want to come for sure!Forget those combinations! But Ronaldo,eh...
Anyway Ronaldo is still a better player than Messi now, in
my opinion!

LOL nice one
ADRIANO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a Real Madrid. He's getting back on track, i don't think Mourinho wants him that much and he is a good replacement for Rudd.
29 Madridistas have commented on "Saviola, Drenthe & Higuain Can Replace Robinho & Migule Torres Deserves A Raise"
Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Robben, can all play on wings, either left or right.
Drenthe can play as a left defender or winger.
Higuain can play as a striker or a right attacking midfielder. And Raul, 2 or 3 years ago also played in that position for Real.
I don't argue that we need a replacement for Robinho (I also stated that Capel, Carzola, Riberry, Nasri, Quaresma would be great replacements, but we lost almost every single one of them, as some of the lads signed new contracts for their respective clubs, or signed for other teams [i.e. Arsenal]), but I think Schuster's got pretty good alternatives for the right winger position. Their not Figo or Solari (man they played good together) but they're the next best thing. It's going to be an interesting winter on the transfer market for us.
"They're not..."
I hate that you can't edit comments
