Sneijder Out For Two Weeks, Benitez Rejects Real Madrid + Arshavin and Tevez Close to Real

Sneijder

UPDATE: Raulista, a reader of the blog, just let me know in the comments that Pepe is gonna be out for three weeks. Turns out to be true - official confirmation is here.

Alright, I'm sick - I have caught a cold and with what we are going through, life sucks for me. Certainly, the same goes for all Madridistas over there, but we should always stay calm and positive.

There was some good news yesterday as it was reported that Higuain, Cannavaro, Robben and Diarra had done some jogging and stuff and they all look to be fit to play against Sevilla. However, the bad news came today as doctors have revealed that Sneijder will be sidelined for approximately two weeks which means that he could make it before the Clasico:

"Wesley Sneijder abandoned Saturday's match agianst Getafe only 18 minutes after the ball was put into play. An MRI showed that the midfielder has a Grade I right femoral biceps injury, for which he is expected to miss approximately two weeks of playing time.", The club's official site revealed this morning

So it seems that whenever we recover a player another gets injured. I think if this continues to happen, we won't ever have a full squad this season.

The one we need most is certainly Robben to provide width and crosses from the two flanks. Real should already be looking for a replacement though, because we can't rely on him and Drenthe. If it was possible, I'd make a clone of Arjen, but yeah.

Anyway, Rafel Benitez has rejected Real Madrid for the third time and preferred to stay at Liverpool. The DailyMail says that he has told the English club that he wishes to extend his contract for more two years.

Personally, I think he'd make a great coach at Real Madrid because he knows Spanish football very well and has coached Real's B team before. And what I like about him is that he is pragmatic when it comes to technical decisions. If a player is performing like crap - he then should warm the bench no matter who he is, be it Rau'l, Zidane or even Pele'.

As far as new players are concerned, Arshavin and Carlos Tevez are the ones who seem to be close to the Bernabeu. The Zenit player has reportedly threatened his club that if they are not gonna sell him, he will refuse to play with them next season.

I have previously talked about Arshavin and many of you have pointed out that his only problem is that he is inconsistent - just like the brilliant Guti.

My opinion is to get a decent striker like Villa, Crespo or Benzema as well as a defender and a winger. I'm not sure if the Real management thinks so, but we can't compete in the Champions League or even in La Liga this season without getting, umm, at least a winger.

We offloaded many players in the summer including, Baptista, Robinho, Soldado..etc and obviously we miss Robinho - more precisely, we miss a winger so I think this is where we really need to concentrate on.

In defense, we really do have some problems. Particularly in central defense, because we can't always rely on Pepe and Cannavaro to be fit and with Heinze performing like crap and Metzelder being ignored by Schuster, Garay should be brought back and another quality defender should be signed.

Thats about it. I'm just gonna go to bed, God I hate sickness.

Hala Madrid!

This just in: Pepe is out for 3 weeks. Så that means he'll me the El Clasico. What do u think of this:
Marcelo - Cannavaro - Ramos - Salgado. Should i be sad right now? Yes, though i can't, cuz this is sooo funny and all i can do right now is to laugh. I never thought i would say this but i hope Heinze is recovered in time to face Barca :? , cuz i doubt Marcelo will have good time facing Messi. Not that Heinze is that good either but he is defensivly better than the brazilian.. Walter Di Salvo should get sacked!! It was the same shit last season.

Damn it, we are truly fucked up. What about Torres? I hope he is fine, otherwise, it is gonna be difficult.

I'd give Metzelder a shot. I think he is fit, isn't he?

No Adam, Torres is most likely to mis, he's out for three weeks. I hate how injuries are decieving. Thr guy who looked the most hurt comes back in two, then the one after that three and who looked the least hurt has to wait 4 damn weeks! WTF is this? And I agree Metz needs a hot, his international career's going to take a dent like this and yes, he is very much fit. Heinze should make training by the coming Monday, or else match fitness will be hard. I just hope the recovered quartet do well in training for the next few days and gain match fitness. They're technically all we need because Diarra has been so influential for us. He's an absoluter rock. The defense only have to deal with people if they manager to get past him in the first place. What a rock....a black rock. Then theirs Cannavaro. The man who keeps the defense organized. Higuain is our most lethal centre-forward and Robben is our best player IMO. It's time we recover from this, we've suffered enough, time to get back to being Real Madrid. Hala Madrid! =D

I think the situations gotten much better now, we recovered four, De la Red could maybe start recovering by day after, Heinze comes back by the coming Monday and Sneijder makes the El Clasico along with the great news that we recovered four of our best players in the rom of Robben, Cannavaro, Diarra and Higuain who should be fit for Sevilla. Defense though is an issue thougjh I think it's time Metz go his chance. He needs to prove himself. This once great defender still has all the potential to be the same Metz, he just needs playign time. And in further news, Real Madrid are expected to announce a signing in the next 48 hours! I hope it's someone liek Huntelaar or Di Maria, we need pacey players like them. I would really rul out Arshavin and Crespo because Calderon said the two or three signings would be young, fast and helpful to the team's future so i'm going to stand by Di Maria and Huntelaar. Hala Madrid! :)

Sadly only AS and Marca have confirmed it till now but they are 100% sure that a signing will be announced, we have to wait an hour or so for it to become official. Though i'm pretty confident it's true. I do find it funny that we have more Dutch players than Spanish :P The conference apparently has begun and the report should be posted soon enough. Hala Madrid! :)

I thought that Huntelaar was injured through January. Hmmm if this is true we might get a lemon like with Robben who has been injured constantly. Depending on how much we spend on Huntelaar maybe Tevez should have been considered. We need at least one solid defender to come. Anyother position can wait until summer we need to sort out our defense and that is top priority in my book.

Huntlelaar's a very fit young lad and yes he'll be injured till around the end of this month which is why I think he'll start training with real to gain fitness early. This is the first time i've ever heard Huntelaar was injured and I think he'll be a smart signing as he should adjust easily with his Dutch buddies at Real Netherlands...I mean Real Madrid :P Hala Madrid! ;)

I hope so. At 25 he is not that young. But he may find adjusting from the Eridevise to La Liga a bit difficult. If he is injured it may take him longer to adjust than an inform striker. If we paid less than 10 mill then it will be ok considering that he is injured. Anything more than that we should have paid 25 mil for Tevez. This should be good for the Dutch National team considering that 5 of there starting players play in the same team.

I've also seen that it is confirmed but then read the article and it says that there is an agreement with Huntelaar only. When it comes to dealing with Ajax...it is said that they have asked for 48hrs time for negotiations to begin. However I also feel that this is going to be confimed in a few days time
