Soldado officially to Getafe, Saviola wants to stay, Van Der Vaart's deal to be closed next week

Written by Adam Bader on Wednesday, 30 July 08, 10:16 AM

Morning,

Real Madrid have officially announced that Roberto Soldado has joined Getafe CF in what it looks like a permanent deal.

Real Madrid wish to announce that Roberto Soldado has been transferred to Getafe CF. The club would like to thank him for his services and hard work since signing on at the age of 13. Soldado has been a role model for the academy throughout his ten years at Real Madrid, who wish him all the best in future endeavors.

So it is done. Real have offloaded one striker so far, and now Saviola is saying he is staying, so there is still Baptista who could be leaving. The media here in Italy says that he will join AS Roma in the next couple of weeks, and so lets wait and see. In the meantime, good luck, Roberto.

Saviola said:

"It is most important to have the confidence of the coach so that he will count on me during the season,".
"I hope next term I can enjoy more time playing for Madrid than I did last term.
"At the moment I am staying with Real Madrid, although in the world of football you always have to live day-by-day, because things can change at any moment.
"I am currently working in pre-season and when that comes to an end we will see if I stay or go."

Perfeto, Saviola but I don't think you'll really get playing time even If you played well. You really have a lot of competition, you have Rau'l, Ruud, Higuain and now maybe there would be Villa as well. So I think you shouldn't close the door in front of other clubs, you should just be on the two lines and see what would work for you.

I personally have faith in him. He is an awesome striker, he is fast, he is smart, he just fits in, but, you know, lets just hope that Schuster will find a solution for him.

Van Der Vaart's deal is said to be done "officially" next week. I blogged about this a few days ago and got attacked by some commenters, but no worries, you want sources? Marca who fabricates stories has it, and Goal.com has the translation. You see, those are the sources, and you will see him in a white shirt soon.

Thaats about it. We have the Emirates cup coming up and that should be entertaining. Can't wait for the match agains the Arse.

More tomorrow

Good luck "SALDADO" time to move on, i do hope he has success... Personally i really like Saviola, i would love to see him stay at Real but that would damage his career and legacy because he wouldn't get the opportunity to shine because of little playing time, sometimes the pride of playing for a great club can damage your career.... I wont even comment on Van Der Vaart, if he do comes lets see how Real Madrid will uses him, pesonally i would start Sneijder over Van der Vaart if it all boils down to that decisions

real madrid is going good with dutch players so now will be one more... this year netherland and spain where the best.
now Drenthe, Sneijder, Robben, Nistelrooy and now Van der Vaart. IT would be a great team :D 8)
just one spanish player is missing (villa) and the season will start and end in the best way.

I know that b4 Ronaldo was my main transfer but now I started to like more these 2 players (v.d.v. and d.v)

Yes,the right move for Soldado!
Van der Vaart is ok,very good player who could become something more here, seems that he has those capacities!
Saviola is a good jocker player, especialy with that Barca expiriance, but I still expect more if he gets a real chance!

Agreed that Calderon is a jackass, but isn't Fergie a jackass too? Don't you do this stuff? Remember Roony's signing?
Welcome to the blog, btw and keep your lad =D

What did we do w.r.t Rooney that was illegal, please remind me?
Fact was that Rooney put in a transfer request, as he had a falling out with everton manager david moyes and actually was headed to Newcastle as they had made a formal bid. We put in a bid in the last minute, which was significantly higher than newcastle's.

Also, the extent to which Calderon and many other involved with Real Madrid have gone in issuing statements almost everyday about their interest wihtout even actually tabling a bid, and talking on as though he is already player their player is unprecedented.
Madrid are experts at this unsettling the player through media, and I do not see where Fergie has gone anywhere near this extent to sign a player.
Fact remains that RM are a piece of arrogant has beens who need some shaking up from the top for them to regain their old glory, and even then they need some growing up to do w.r.t their condescending behavior towards all other clubs.
And fact is in the last 15 years, the biggest and the most successful club in the world has been Man Utd.
End Rant.

Who told you Real didn't bid? They offered you £80m but since you are not selling thats ok. It is your lad who is also a jackass. He is a coward, he just keeps and hints at moving "you know, it is a dream, the train comes once, Real are a big club, but you know, .. I just can't, Fergie will kick me in the butt", he is irresponsible. He should come out and say for himself whether he wants to stay or leave. Nevertheless, I still agree that Calderon is a jackass, but he aint the only one, add Fergie who thinks he is the best and Ronaldo who thinks he is Pele.
End Rant.

I would have to agree with real. Fergie is doing the same thing with Berbatov and maybe Santa Cruz. Come one this tapping of playes goes on all the time. then only reason it has gotten so much press is becasue Ronaldo won't settle it once and for all. All he has to do is say yes I want to leave or no I want to stay. Also I don't think that Man U has been the biggest club for the last 15 years. I think that they have had a lot of success but they are not the biggest club. Getting back to the topic Real doesn't need Van der Vaart. I don't know what Calderon and Pedja are thinking.
