It has been reported today that Ruud Van Nistelrooy didn't train due to a pain in his lower back. He was told to train in the gym with midfielders: Gago, Robben & Guti.
It isn't yet known whether he'll miss the derby or not, but to me, it doesn't seems that serious. However, we need to wait for the doctors' report to know the truth.
Meanwhile, both Guti and Robben are reportedly fit for the clash against Atletico Madrid. This is certainly a good thing as we need both to play. Gago will probably make it as well.
If Van Nistelrooy doesn't get recovered in time, we might see Saviola start. I'm saying this because I want him to start, but it is unlikely, since Schuster is seemingly not a big fan and will instead start with Higuain.
Another option is to start with one striker upfront and in this case: Rau'l. The midfield would consist of Diarra, Guti/De La Red, VDV, Sneijder & Robben.
Personally, I'd go for two strikers upfront - because, especially in this case, Rau'l can't play alone - he needs someone besides him.
Both of Forlan & Simao have reportedly recovered from their respective injuries and so they should be okay to play against us.
Juventus' goalie and Italy's second-skipper, Gianluigi Buffon is sidelined for two months which means he will miss both legs of the Champions League match against Real Madrid.
Juventus' Cammoranisi is also injured. This is a big blow to them, but that doesn't mean they are weaker now, they are a great team and they have great players. It's gonna be a tough match.
If you switch to any news channel right now (in my case, CNN) you'll find news and discussions about the global economic crisis and since Real Madrid is a money-generating machine, they are likely to be affected with such crisis.
However, Real Madrid's director general Jose Angel Sanche says that the club is not at all effected by the current crisis assuring that the it is in a solid economic situation:
"Real Madrid is in a good economic and financial situation and is at the head of the world ranking of football clubs in terms of revenues," he told the club's television station.
"This is not easy, there are not many examples of Spanish institutions or companies which are at the head of the revenue rankings in their sector," he added.
Real Madrid was the world's largest revenue-generating football club last season. They posted a net profit of 97 million euros, up from 40 million euros during the 2006-07 season.
Well, that's about it for now. I'm now off to bed.
Hala Madrid!

To be the Coach of Real Madrid and England is the two most difficult professional Jobs in the world,,I hear everyone talking about rotation system used by Bernd...It is hard for him to rotate playes because he want's to win the Liga and CL,,so he always plays players he trust,,not that i agree with Bernd but that i understand his decisions,,, Raul And Ruud,, are the Forwards he trust so he works then like donkeys,, That can spell trouble now Ruud is injured this can be a good thing it lets other players have a chance..Imagine Bern starting 3 games with Raul on the bench all Real Fans would call for Bernd's head because Raul is seen as a god there....So certain problem won't be solve untill the Great Raul retires and maybe that will be next 10 years
.....
Raul is the heart of RealMadrid,he is not a problem! There is
no problem, look what he has done against Espanyol,he is still
very good! The other players are not tied up because of Raul!
He plays even when he is not on the ground! But of course he will retire in a few years!
It shouldn't matter if Juve has players injured or not. We should still be lookinig to get at least 4 points in the two games from them simply because we are a superior team.
Ruud being out for the Atletico game will be a blow, but i doubt a fatal one. They havent beat us since 99/00 and hoodoo's are a very hard thing to break. As we ourselves on the first day this season away to Depor. Also Ruud being injured will hopefully give Saviola a chance or two. I think he's good enough, he just needs to prove it.
HALA MADRID!!!

I really hope schuster takes his head from up his ass and start Saviola. Sometimes things happen for a reason, not saying that RVN's injury is a good thing but IMO if Saviola just get a chance to prove himself someone else will be doing the bench sucking.
Sergio Ramos was substituted yesterday while playing in Spain's match .. I hope he isn't injured .
