We Will Beat Olympiacos - Bernd Schuster

Bernd Schuster talking during a press conference

Real Madrid coach, Bernd Schuster has stated that his team is coming to Athens only for a win to secure a place in the knock-out stages. The German trainer has also said, that the team must forget Sevilla's match and pay full attention to tonight's Champions League clash.

"We have a very important match tonight and we know they are going to be a tough opponent to beat. They are a side with a strong character and support and we respect them very much." Schuster said.

"They also have some very good players such as Luciano Galletti, Darko Kova?evi? and Raúl Bravo.

"We must also forget about the game against Sevilla and concentrate on this one"

Metzelder has been left-out and didn't make the trip to Greece as Schuster has decided to rest him after playing many matches recently.
"We have rested Metzelder because he has played a lot of matches for us already."

"We have ready replacements in Heinze and Pepe, and we will still put out the best possible lineup."

The match will kick-off at 20:45 CET and If Los Blancos take the three points  then they are in the knock-out stages. They would be the first team to qualify, I guess.

A loss to Sevilla and a draw(0-0) yesterday - and this soon after the astronomic win against Valencia! Is it complecency or just success getting into people's heads. Forget Valencia. In soccer you are only as good as your most recent performance. A win against Real Madrid will always be sweeter for any team than a win elsewhere becoz Madrid is "the team to beat". I hope the boys will keep this in mind, polish up and get back to winning.

As I said in my last post, Madrid were either stupid or unlucky not to beat Olympiacos. At least they played better than they did against Sevilla. I think there is still a room for improvment.
