Arjen Robben has once again proved that he is a world-class footballer. Throughout the match, Robben exhausted Valencia defenders, attacked from the left, the right and the midlle. In simplest terms, he was unstoppable.
Not only we won, we played beautiful football too. We played with the same team that played Barca save for Ramos and Rau'l, practically the same team Schuster used to play, but we were more like a "Real Madrid" team, a team that holds the ball, pass it around and attack.
Juande started with Casillas in goal, Salgado on the right, Metzelder and Cannavaro in the middle and Marcelo on the left.
In the midfield, Gago partnered Guti, Robben played on the right, Drenthe on the left and Van der vaart played in his natural position - just behind the only striker;Higuain.
We scored a bit early, exactly in the third minute. An impressive move from Robben and a great finish from Higuain.
We dominated the midfield and Robben kept tearing their defenders apart. He could have scored at least two goals tonight.
We maintained a clean sheet tonight which is good. What concerns me is why we couldn't score more goals although we had pretty good chances.

UPDATE: Raulista, a reader of the blog, just let me know in the comments that Pepe is gonna be out for three weeks. Turns out to be true - official confirmation is here.
Alright, I'm sick - I have caught a cold and with what we are going through, life sucks for me. Certainly, the same goes for all Madridistas over there, but we should always stay calm and positive.
There was some good news yesterday as it was reported that Higuain, Cannavaro, Robben and Diarra had done some jogging and stuff and they all look to be fit to play against Sevilla. However, the bad news came today as doctors have revealed that Sneijder will be sidelined for approximately two weeks which means that he could make it before the Clasico:
"Wesley Sneijder abandoned Saturday's match agianst Getafe only 18 minutes after the ball was put into play. An MRI showed that the midfielder has a Grade I right femoral biceps injury, for which he is expected to miss approximately two weeks of playing time.", The club's official site revealed this morning
So it seems that whenever we recover a player another gets injured. I think if this continues to happen, we won't ever have a full squad this season.
The one we need most is certainly Robben to provide width and crosses from the two flanks. Real should already be looking for a replacement though, because we can't rely on him and Drenthe. If it was possible, I'd make a clone of Arjen, but yeah.

Gabriel Heinze has joined the sickbay which already hosts: Van Nistelrooy, Diarra, Higuain, De La Red, Cannavaro and Robben.
Gabriel got injured in the match against BATE Borisov and is set to be out for three weeks:
Medical examinations and a magnetic resonance have determined that Gabriel Heinze is injured with a hematoma on the deep fascia of his left leg, separating the triceps surae muscle from the flexor muscles. The player will miss approximately three weeks. The official site revealed on its pages
While this is another blow to the team, I think it will force Schuster to give more confidence and have more faith in players like Miguel Torres, Metzelder and Marcelo. Heinze has been under-performing recently and has made many costly mistakes, so I'd say his absence would not be REALLY noticed, on the contrary, our defense might improve with him out of the starting eleven

Ramon Calderon was a guest on radio program "El Larguero'" in which he talked about many things including Schuster, Mijatovic and signings.
On Mijatovic and Schuster, he said:
"Mijatovic gave his press conference because we read articles that said Schuster was finished. Tha fans needed to know if that was true."
"I've never acted in a cowardly manner. People will be dismissed whenever they have to be dismissed, but that's not the case right now. The fans knew back when I became President that I would never interfere with the Sporting Director's decisions. Mijatovic is the one who would have to decide to dismiss someone, just like he did with Capello. I trust him. Naturally, the Board has to approve his decision."
"There's two things I must point out. The first is the relationship Schuster has with the press. I would prefer him to have a different image, but we can't change that because he was like that before joined Real Madrid. The second is that I just wished to learn about the team's situation. I had a meeting with some players and with the coach to find out what's happening."
I agree that Schuster should have a different attitude with the press. The way he answers questions and interact with journalists is purely unprofessional. He has never made good analysis or admitted any mistakes in his press conferences, he just says the same crap all the time - the crap that I say all the time too.
"The King's Cup elimination shouldn't have happened, but it is no reason for alarm. Chelsea recently conceded four goals against a Fourth Division team and no one's said anything about it. Chelsea and Villarreal fans would have liked their teams to win. Real Madrid hasn't won the King's Cup in 16 years, so I don't think this is a current problem; it has nothing to do with this team, with Schuster or with this Board."Read Post »

Well, I've just found out via Marca that Arjen Robben will not play against Atletico Madrid next weekend.
While he is probably okay, Marca says that doctors don't want to "risk" and rather rest him so he'd be 100% fit against Juventus.
There hasn't been any official word from Real Madrid, but I'm keeping an eye on their site.
Fingers crossed.

It has been reported today that Ruud Van Nistelrooy didn't train due to a pain in his lower back. He was told to train in the gym with midfielders: Gago, Robben & Guti.
It isn't yet known whether he'll miss the derby or not, but to me, it doesn't seems that serious. However, we need to wait for the doctors' report to know the truth.
Meanwhile, both Guti and Robben are reportedly fit for the clash against Atletico Madrid. This is certainly a good thing as we need both to play. Gago will probably make it as well.
If Van Nistelrooy doesn't get recovered in...

Arjen Robben thinks that Real Madrid should bring in another winger just to be on the safe side:
"I am happy because I want to play a lot and be important to my team. Perhaps we need one more player for the wings. I have to play more now, but it's good for me," he began.
"Do we need this new winger in winter? Perhaps, but we will see," he added.
Playing more than usual means more risks of getting injured and when Robben gets injured it means we are in trouble. However, If I were Schuster, I wouldn't bring in any player during the winter transfer window and instead experiment with Higuain, Drenthe,

Whats up gang?
I have been quite busy the last couple of days ... but I have been also keeping an eye on the quite, scary atmosphere in Madrid. Today, I have a good news for you all, you have probably heard about this, but here it goes:
Wesley Sneijder has been improving quickly that doctors are confident he will be fit to play again in October. Sneijder got injured against Arsenal in the Emirates Cup and we were told that he would be sidelined for three months but it looks that he will be back soon. Thank God for that, we really need him now that Robinho is working on hookers in England.
Dutch teammate Robben was reported to have been injured during training. My source says it was a little injury and it was not reported by...
