Real Madrid 1-0 Deportivo La Coruña | La Liga Review

Sunday, 25 January 09, 01:59 PM

A goal from captain Rau'l gave Real their five consecutive win in the league. They are now second on the table with 12 points behind Barcelona.

Juande started with Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Cannavaro, Heinze, Lass, Gago, Robben, Sneijder, Rau'l and Higuain.

Real started the match going forward and trying to set up chances, but Deportivo showed character and strength in their midfield.

Real, though, failed to capitalize on their chances and score goals.

However, one of the interesting things that I noticed is that both of Gago and Lass have become compatible which helped us to have more strength in the midfield. Lass would tackle and recover the ball, Gago would pass it forward. This is the partner whom Gago was missing.

I also noticed that Ramos was able to move forward as he used to do before. I think he should be allowed to do so because he is capable of going forward and creating danger. It is fascinating to have a defender with the capabilities of a winger or even a forward.

Real Madrid Vs Deportivo La Coruña | La Liga Preview

Saturday, 24 January 09, 11:55 AM

Real Madrid Vs Deportivo La Coruña - La Liga | 25/01/2009 - 21:00 CET | Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid take on Deportivo La Coruña tomorrow night at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid.

Juande Ramos has announced his squad list which excludes Marcelo and Saviola (who is unhappy at the club -- and he has the right to be) as well as the injured folks (Ruud, Diarra and De La Red).

However, both of Drenthe and Torres return to the squad.

Goalkeepers: Casillas, Codina
Defenders: Salgado, Pepe, Ramos, Cannavaro, Heinze, Torres, Metzelder
Midfielders: Lass, Gago, Sneijder, Robben, Drenthe, Van der Vaart, Javi García
Forwards: Raúl, Huntelaar, Higuaín

Lineup
Fabio, although included in the list, is still doutbtful for the clash. He may play and he may not. Regardless of that, I think Juande will pretty much stick to the lineup he has used in the last few matches.

Casillas
Ramos   Cannavaro/Metz   Pepe   Heinze

                Gago  ----- Lass

Robben                      Sneijder

        Higuain ---- Rau'l

Deportivo La Coruña 2 - 1 Real Madrid | La Liga Review

Sunday, 31 August 08, 03:13 PM

Ramos de cabeza

Real Madrid have failed to win their first match in La Liga as they were outplayed by Deportivo La Coruna who scored two goals which meant that Nistelrooy's only goal was not enough.

Schuster started with Casillas in goal, Ramos, Pepe, Heinze and Marcelo in defense. Guti, Diarra, Robben and Higuain in midfield. And as usual, Schuster also started with Ruud and Rau'l upfront.

Real Madrid had most of ball possession but they failed to be effective in front of goal. Rau'l had a poor performance so did...

Deportivo La Coruña vs Real Madrid - La Liga Preview

Saturday, 30 August 08, 05:50 AM

  • La Liga, Matchday 1
  • Deportivo La Coruña vs Real Madrid
  • Sunday, 31st August 2008, 2100 CET
  • Estadio Municipal de Riazor, A Coruña

During the last 17 years, Los Blancos have never beaten Deportivo La Coruna at the their stadium. Bad luck? Tough opponent? It is just true, but this time, Bernd Schuster and his men are looking to break the spell and snatch the first three points.

With three Dutch players out of action (Sneijder injured, Van Nistelrooy and Van Der Vaart suspended) Schuster needs to find his best lineup something which is not easy, however, the return of Fabio Cannavaro after his three-month injury is certainly a good thing for the team and for the German coach.

Robinho is...
