Real Madrid 1-1 Atletico Madrid | La Liga Review

Saturday, 07 March 09, 12:13 PM

Real vs Atletico

I'm very disappointed after last night's draw at the Bernabeu. We were four points behind, but we are six now. It was a tough game, and Atletico were a great team.

We clearly had many problems in the backline. Pepe was greatly missed, and although Lass did a good job as a right-back, I thought it would have been better if he had played in central midfield.

Atletico were very effective and dangerous when it came to counterattacks. Since we were playing at home and needed to win, we were attacking throughout the whole match which as a result opened gaps in the defense that Atletico knew how to exploit them.

The pace of Aguero, Simao and Forlan proved crucial for them. That's how their first goal was scored – a counter attack, everyone was in their half of the pitch, and we only had Casillas, Lass and Gago back. I don't think there was someone responsible for that goal, but I think we should have been more careful.

I thought that Guti had an okay game. He made a few assists, but they were very strong in defense. Marcelo was absolutely great. His pace on the left flank, the dribbling and that shot he made, he was really great and I think Juande will start with him against Liverpool.

Real Madrid Vs Atletico Madrid | La Liga Preview

Rau'l

Real Madrid Vs Atletico Madrid | La Liga - Round 26 | 07/03/2009 - 20:00 CET | Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid.

Did you know that Real Madrid have never lost a derby whenever Rau'l has scored in it, winning eight times and drawing only once? Did you also know that Rau'l alone has scored 11 goals in 24 clashes with Atletico, and his first in La Liga was against, who else, but rivals Atletico?

Obviously, this match has a special meaning to Rau'l, and it is as important for him as it is for us. For the last few seasons he'd lead Real, and Torres would lead Atletico but now that Torres is at the Anfield, Real's golden boy will be missing the competition of Atletico's golden but "unfaithful boy?".

Atletico Madrid

They have always been a great team. They may not be as dominant in Spain and Europe as Real or Barca, but they've always had amazing players and have been real competitors for titles.

Having said that, this year, Atletico hasn't been in their great form. They started the league well, as we did, but they then started stumbling and never regained their full form and strength.

They are currently fifth in the table with 39 points, just three points away from the fourth position held by Villarreal.

Their resent results are neither impressive nor awful. In the last six games in all competitions, they won two games, lost twice and were held to a draw on two occasions.

Atletico Madrid 1-2 Real Madrid | I Fuckin' Hate TV

Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Okay, I watched the entire first half but couldn't watch the second one simply because the crappy channel I'm subscribed to, went black. Yeah seriously, they stopped broadcasting the game and I was so pissed off.

The first half was very entertaining. Ruud scored our first goal just 43 seconds after the kick-off and thats was a "real" goal. We dominated the game thanks to Gago, De La Red and Sneijder who all had a good first half.

Ruud scored another goal but the referee decided it was an offside which I think it wasn't not. Rau'l also scored a goal which the referee thought it was not legitmate and I think he got it wrong again. I think it should have...

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid | IL Derby Preview

Atletico Madrid - Real Madrid | 18/10/2008 Time 20:00 | Vicente Calderón

I have been wearing glasses since I was 14 or so and my eyesight is not getting better - it is getting worst. The last couple of days have been painful for me as it seems I need a LASIK surgery as soon as possible. I'm having headaches, I sometimes cry when I'm not crying and a lot of painful stuff. Having said that, I found it difficult to blog and even go to school but with some pills I'm feeling slightly better.

Tomorrows match is important - very important. After all it is the derby. We haven't lost there in nine years and that's a very good record.

The squad list hasn't been announced yet, but it seems that Guti and Diarra will not play. According to "AS", there is a big possibility that Robben plays which is great.

Gago is reportedly...

Van Nistelrooy To Miss The Derby? - Robben & Guti Fit, Buffon Will Miss Both Legs of Champions League against Real

Saturday, 11 October 08, 08:44 AM

Ruud Van Nistelrooy

It has been reported today that Ruud Van Nistelrooy didn't train due to a pain in his lower back. He was told to train in the gym with midfielders: Gago, Robben & Guti.

It isn't yet known whether he'll miss the derby or not, but to me, it doesn't seems that serious. However, we need to wait for the doctors' report to know the truth.

Meanwhile, both Guti and Robben are reportedly fit for the clash against Atletico Madrid. This is certainly a good thing as we need both to play. Gago will probably make it as well.

If Van Nistelrooy doesn't get recovered in...
