Betis coach Paco Chaparro is supposedly interested in signing the promising 22 year old forward who has featured for the French U-21 national
team, although the player’s €10 million price tag could be a put-off for the financially struggling Andalucian club.
Briand, who played 37 league games and scored seven goals for Rennes last season, is also being chased by PSG but their €8.5 million offer, 15% of which would have gone to the player himself, did not quite appeal to Les Rouges et Noir.
It is believed that Rennes will only listen to Betis if they can start their offer at €10 million and Chaparro is well aware that the club would first have to sell Rafael Sobis to fund such a move.
Another option for Los Verdiblancos would be Saint-Étienne’s Pascal Feindouno. The 27 year old Guinean, who was at one point tracked by Liverpool, managed eight goals from just 33 appearances in Ligue 1 last term, but his price tag is not expected to be that much cheaper than that of Briand’s.Monday, 28 July 08, 02:48 AM

Nicolas Douchez lies down perfectly and restarts.
On the action which follows, Daniel Moreira, which is in the reception of a good centre, centres the head but this one is not rather powerful to deceive Dykan. Three minutes later, Idahor has at all times to centre on its left side. Fortunately for Rennais, the shifty ball cannot be taken back. Later, offensive vague desires become rarer. Petter Hansson, in good captain, cleans all balls which trail along in the surface. The pressure of the beginning of match went back down from a notch when in the 33rd minute Galiuza escapes on a ball lost by Bira Dembele.

Sounded by a blow, Guillaume Borne gives his place up for Elderson Echiejile.
Direction continuations! Both teams spent a lot of energies and have to head from now on for the continuations of 2 X 15 minutes. Encouraged by boosted supporters, Simferopol still prevails and always but decision will be made in shooting in purposes. To the end of suspense! During fateful session of shooting in purposes, Jérôme Leroy and Mickaël Pagis managed to register their shooting in purpose but Olivier Thomert failed. At the end of an untenable suspense and thanks to numerous feats of the néo rennais Nicolas Douchez, the Stage Rennais F.C. can blow and qualifies itself for the preliminary turn of the Cut of Uefa.
