Rennes - 2-1 Lille

Rennes scored twice in the final moments of their sensational 4-4 draw with Marseille on the opening day of the season and repeated the feat against Lille who have slipped to the bottom of the standings with their latest defeat.

Yohan Cabaye had given Lille the lead in the 34th minute only for former Liverpool star Bruno Cheyrou to equalize in the first minute of added time. Substitute Sow sealed the three points with virtually the final kick of the match.

It was just reward for a Rennes side who had been on top during the first half as Mikhail Pagis and Olivier Thomert both went close.

But they were made to pay for missing chances when Cabaye opened the scoring for Lille with a low shot from just outside the area.

Lille should have gone further ahead early in the second half as Stephane Dumont failed to score when he had only Rennes keeper Nicolas Douchez to beat.

It was then the turn of Lille goalkeeper Gregory Malicki to provide the heroics as he made fine saves frrom Asamoah Gyan then Rod Fanni in the final five minutes.

With Lille seemingly home and dry, Rennes won a free kick and Cheyrou's effort  took a wicked deflection off the boot of Emerson and into the net.

The hosts powered forward and Douchez launched a goal kick into the Lille penalty area which Petter Hansson headed down to Sow, who scored with an outstetched leg.
