The big competition to elect the best footballer of all times is getting close to is final phase. Two more posts before we go to the final rounds.
The qualified players so far are:

The first category of these two final posts of the "group stage" includes footballers from Spain, Portugal and Latin America (except Brazil and Argentina obviously).

LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A RETRO FOOTBALL REPLICA SHIRT
CONTEST RULES:
"I separated the best players (the ones that people most argue about) into countries or categories. Some countries like Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Germany, England ... will be a category on their own and some countries with less entries will form a group category. You will have 2 weeks to submit your votes for each category and after that the 2 top voted players will move to a next round. In the end of the whole process we will be able to find out who are the top 10 best players of all times. And if you also decide to leave a comment on the my blog posts revealing your opinion about the players in that category your name will be on a raffle for a chance to win a Retro Football Strip Replica... It will be a prize from me for your participation."

My vote had to go to Eusebio. All the young folks that don't really understand the history of this game will end up voting for Cristiano Gaynaldo or David Villa. And worse will be those Mexican fanatics who will vote for Blanco. Oh God! EUSEBIO is the best of this list for sure.
How about Peter smeichel or iker casillas? are you goalie-phobic samba club??? : ) I nominate St. Iker for Spain
Reply to Kristen Gilmartin:
Nothing against keepers. Oliver Kahn and Dino Zoff were already listed when I posted about the Germans and Italians respectively but Peter Schmeichel couldn't be on this one because he's not Spanish, Portuguese nor Latin American and it was between David Villa and Iker Casillas as one of the Spanish nominees but I chose Villa. There is also the "Other" option in the poll so people can vote for Casillas, Luis Figo, Fernando Torres, Teofilo Cubillas and other great names if they feel like
earnest and energetic Eusebio - a powerful striker who scored beautiful goals..
Reply to ManoGil:
I want say you that the surname of the italian football player of Juventus is Del Piero and not

And if Eusebio will win,i will accept
this end of the poll.
If i use the same way to think of you
i would can say that if he will win it
will be only because all the lover of
old and slow football where There were
only 3 teams good in Europe will vote
Eusebio.
The younger fan of football will divided
beetween a lot of options!!!!
And in first option (Eusebio) all votes
are added and in the second option others
player no!!!!
Bye Marco.
Diego Maradona is and remains the best

Hey, hey, hey... wait a minute! I don't know how old you are but did you take some time to research about Eusebio's career and compare what he did to what Villa did? I'm not saying Villa isn't a great player, HE IS. But he still need to do a lot to be put among the best in the history of the sport. I think ManoGil shouldn't even put players that are still developing their careers among the nominees because they can't compete in number and historical achievements with most of the legends. So let's see the numbers for these 2 strikers:
David Villa: TITLES -> 2 Copa del Rey (one with Zaragoza and one with Valencia) and 1 Euro with Spain. GOALS/MATCHES: CLUBS (Sporting Gijon/Zaragoza/Valencia) 147goals in 272matches SPAIN NATIONAL TEAM: 25goals in 42matches.
Eusebio: TITLES -> 11 Portuguese League Titles, 5 Portuguese Cups, 1 European Cup (all with Benfica) and a 3rd place in the 1966 World Cup with Portugal. GOALS/MATCHES: CLUBS (Benfica) 317goals in 301matches. PORTUGAL NATIONAL TEAM: 41goals in 64matches.
Reply to Jay:
Maradona is already qualified for the final rounds.
Reply to marcoerob:
I'll correct it now. Thanks
Reply to StephenByron:
i agree with you StephenByron.. david villa is very good but he is still far from all those great players that could be considered legends.. i'm sorry to say even raul is a lot better than villa.. villa has a long way to go.. i'm in my early 20's but i have to thank my dad (and mum) for singing praises over these players, those players (or sometimes that player who played in that position/that player who played for that country/that player who won that award - because they somehow had forgotten that player's name), so i had to check out all those players that my parents praised to see whether they are/were any good.. i appreciate what ManoGil is doing but i think we should separate the old and young players to avoid any confusion especially for the youngsters.. after all, we grow up with familiar names and have our own choices.. i guess it would be better if best ex-players are compiled in one poll; best players 30-year-old and above in another; and best young players below 30 yrs in another poll.. but this is just a suggestion..

I thought about doing that but then i realised that it would be better to stir up some controversy and provoke debate by missing the old legends with the new idols. It's just for the fun of it ;)
Reply to ManoGil:
okay.. it's fun alright.. but if you can get more people throwing in their opinions, this controversial debates you're trying to create would be livelier.. keep it up! =)
