THIS IS HUGE - Thierry Henry to New York Red Bulls x Josmer Altidore to Barcelona

Wednesday, 09 April 08, 17:01 PM

A huge rumor is going around this morning when many media vehicles annouced the possibily of a trade between Barcelona and the New York Red Bulls involving Thierry Henry and young american striker Jozy Altidore.

All I have to say is that I truly believe the possibily exists for the deal.

Thierry Henry is unhappy at the Catalan club and Barcelona is open to hear offers for him. One of the clubs that showed interest in the french striker was new MLS franchise Seattle Sounders FC but it seems that the New York RedBulls has something else to offer Barcelona.

18-year old American striker Jozy Altidore, that has already been in the eyes of Real Madrid last year, would be traded for Henry with Barcelona.

Henry, who is 30 years old, would certainly become the second most famous player on the mLS (after David Beckham) and very possibly the most sucessful one. The league and soccer in the USA in general, lack of talented strikers and if Henry plays all he is capable of he will certainly destroy defenses here.

I would definetly love to see that happen.

So here it is... it's a rumor but HEY, many people didn't believe when Galaxy announced that Beckham was coming either.

 Do you believe in it?

Will we see this scene? Henry smiling again wearing the RedBulls jersey

This rumor is bull shit!!!! That will neve happen?!! I believe that MLS is league full of bullshiters because in the North and South condinent are talent players that can make this league growth. They must stop thinking in big stars and start thinking in the development of local players. That's why I never watch the MLS becuase is full of SHIT!! Starting with LA Galaxy, they are biggest bullshiters in the league!!!!

We'll see his performance in the 2008 Euro. Anyway, he is really unhappy playing for Barcelona, but I don't think Titi is ready to move to the US. Nice work in photoshop Gil!!!

Alexi Lalas (president of the LA Galaxy) did an interview on Fox Football Fone-In on FSC and he actually said this: "The LA Galaxy is on its way to become one of the premier teams in the world". jajaja. right.....

oh yea i can believe that...anything is possible. altidore going to barcelona will help the usa team when he starts to play for them. the kid has young talent that needs to be brought out to its full potential. i think henry should join another mls team cause juan pablo angel rules there. but i guess no one has the money...

I don't know how true this is. I don't see Henry playing in the MLS but I can see Altidore at Barcelona. As a Red Bulls fan, I want to see somebody big come in.

As much as I would love to see Henry in the MLS, it will never happen. Henry on the RB NY would be like Pele in the 80's. I don't want to see the NASL fiasco all over again.

Hey Otto, I honestly don't believe in another NASL fiasco. What happened back there was that they put 4, 5 very expensive players in one team (the Cosmos) and the other teams tried to follow up and went bankrupt. Now what we see is the league helping the teams get one big international star with most of his salary being paid by sponsors and not by the team. Henry would be an excellent contribution to the league. I really don't care what team gets him I just want to see improvements. So Henry, Riquelme (another big rumor), and others are welcome...
